worst comment ever made about your weight

Last year a few months after I hadmy daughter an older lady at a Super Bowl party told me, "That baby sure did put some weight on you!". Another one chimed in, Yeah I guess you won't be able to wear all those pretty dresses!". I don't care what anyone says, I think old people think they can get away with anything. I wanted to tell both of them, "Time sure did put some wrinkles on y'all's faces!"0

I'm trying to lose about 20kg (around 44lbs for those of you on the imperial system), to get into my "ideal" BMI range. I'm around half-way there and feeling pretty good about myself, but... I volunteer once a month for a group that takes intellectually disabled kids out for the day, while their parents get the day off. Last trip, one of the girls stares at me for a while, then says "You've got a really big tummy!" I quickly responded, "Well, it's not as big as it used to be." She thought about that for a while, then said "Well, it's still pretty big!" Kind of brought me down a peg or two.0

When I was about ten years old I was walking with my bike up a hill and some kids made a comment "maybe you should be riding the bike".0

Man, all these comments are awful!
Worst ones made to me directly were :
1) From my Mother - "You have such a pretty face, shame about your body"
2) 2 girls talking - 1 says "Argh, I'm so fat", the other replies "At least you're not as fat as Alina"0 -
A guy I'm friends with just recently told me I have the body of a fertility goddess. I'm still not certain, but I think it was a back-handed compliment. It made me feel like crap =/
Lol I get told that sort of thing so much I've actually come to love it a little hahaha :blushing:
I mean whatever, its scientifically proven that guys are attracted to bodies like ours! And from my experience if you mix that body with some confidence, guys totally dig it!0 -
My mother, holding up underwear in a store, saying loudly enough for others to hear, "What size are you up to now?"
Nice, Mom!0 -
After having lost 45 lbs and working damn hard to do so, someone told me "You're getting so skinny I just want to vomit all over you." Umm... thank you?0

These stories are breaking my heart! Every person on here deserves so much better than these horrible comments from husbands, wives, family, and friends. I know comments from strangers hurt, but the comments from people that aren't supposed to use their own insecurity against you are the worst. A very high percentage of these comments, especially those coming consistently from family members over many years are examples of ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS.
I hope anyone that reads these comments and is receiving their own verbal abuse from family members realize that you deserve unconditional love no matter how you look, and just because they are family does not mean that they can hurt you! They have NO right to hurt you in any way. I know it's hard, but if they cannot keep their negativity and hurtful comments to themselves (or even better, stop thinking them about someone they love), you don't need them!0 -
A gentleman that I was involved with some how saw a picture of me at my heaviest. Jokingly he made the comment "you had your own zip code". He thought he was being funny but it truly hurt coming from a person that I thought was a friend and I thought cared.0

In 7th grade, I had gym. I was running laps around the gym and a guy asked me if I was pregnant in front of all of his friends. I've never been so humiliated in my life.0

This really brought up some terrible memories but I might as well post them....
I have always been heavy, have gotten the "You have such a pretty face" comments, never the pregnancy ones. I think about all the exercise classes my mom took me to at the Y with the other women because it was for HER and how (I am one of those people who have a double belly) she told me that only women who have had c-sections have a belly like mine...um I was like 13 or 14. That is probably the meanest thing and I can't remember if she was mad at me or just talking to me but I can't imagine how she would see that as helpful. She was always saying something about my weight, wouldn't allow me to eat certain things, or make my brother and sister get theirs before I could eat which never made since because I am not a quantity eater.
Because I was estranged from my "dad" (who I am again estranged from) I finally met him when I was 20-21 maybe and he actually asked me if I was worried about meeting him because I was so over weight....For me, the answer was "no, not until now"....People are so stupid...0 -
My doctor said to me every time I see you you get bigger and bigger:noway:0
-
For me it wasn't comments made, it was reaction. I was ignored when I was overweight, then when I lost it to about a size 6 I was suddenly 'noticed'. Through stress I eventually have put it all back on, and am now invisible again. Not taking it to heart this time, my self-esteem is better than it used to be.0

Society makes it wrong to make jokes and comments about a person's race, creed, ethnic origin, handicap, disability, and even enacted laws against hate speech. Yet, it accepts that it is perfectly okay to make fun of overweight people or people with eating disorders like anorexia. This is just so sad.
so true0 -
My mom told me a couple of years ago my *kitten* was getting fat. I had always been skinny, but piled on the pounds in the last 15 yrs. Now she lives with me, knows I'm on a diet, and constantly gets on me about what and how much I eat--like I was 15 again.0

On a nicer note - whenever we visit my Grandma she always says "Honey, you've lost weight, you are looking great!" No matter how heavy or thin you were she always said it. Whether it was true or not, it always made me feel good.0
-
My mother used to be awful and subversive to me. She would "casually" mention a new health or weight loss fad she had heard about, or try to make me feel bad about how I looked by asking things like "Are you sure you want to go out like that?" in order to make me rethink my appearance. I eventually told her to just cut it out, and pointed out to her that being passive aggressive and stressing me out made it harder for me to lose weight. Now that I'm getting smaller and she's getting bigger, I think she's finally backing off.0

Wow! You can see the weight all in your legs!! :grumble: WTH?0
-
My aunt said to me before my sister's wedding, "If you gain any more weight, I'm going to disown you." I weidghed 25 pounds less then that I do now and I have lost 50 pounds. I told her wtih tears in my eyes to "go to hell." Only time I've ever said that to anyone and I still feel bad for saying it.0

When I moved to Korea last year my co-teacher told me that hiking would help me "lose the weight." I was 120 lbs at the time. I have since learned to just ignore anything Koreans say about my weight and just pretend it's a translation issue.0

My mom once sent me samples of that Sensa stuff and told me if it didn't work I could always throw up after I ate. Erm? No thank you. A lady I worked with told me I had a pretty face, but that I should really lose some weight if I wanted to be beautiful. My old supervisor commented on every single thing I ate at work. Nothing said enjoy your breakfast like "should you really be eating that?"0

I was gaining weight in high school due to new medications my doctor put me on and I was missing school for it. One day I was called down to meet with my Guidance counselor. I was thinking it had to do with college applications or ideas for college. When I walked in my school nurse and guidance counselor were sitting there asking me questions and handing me pamphlets for teen pregnancies. I was furious at the idea they would think that but I was very embarrassed because I knew I had been gaining weight but only I knew the real reason. That's not even the worst part. Somehow the information got out around my school which is not that big of a school and by the end of the day other students were asking me if i had picked out names and if I knew the sex of the baby... I went in the next day with a doctors not proving to my school nurse I was pregnant and never saw her or my counselor again.0

After working hard over the last 4 months to get back down to the size I was when I first started to date my fiance, my future sister in law (who I love btw) said "you are getting sickly skinny!" - I was sum what hurt considering she knows how hard both my fiance and I have worked at getting back down to the sizes we were. Not to mention my little sister (who is in high school) was with us, and she an I are the exact same height and size now! Fiance said to ignore her, that she has gained weight over the last year and she is just jealous, just didn't expect her to say something so negative, especially considering how close we are... oh well0

MOOOOOOO!!!
Your A.. is so wide you could drive a tractor trailer through it.
The appropriate response to that is "Too bad all you have is a Mini!"
My response was to pack up and leave my husband. That said it all.0 -
Recently I've had on facebook photos -
'Eat a cheeseburger'
same girl commenting on another photo upload 'Cheeseburger. Stat'
It's like ohhhh shut up.0 -

Isn't that the worst when your own parents do that?!
My mother was similar. My sister begged her for money to get breast implants. Instead of telling my sister she looked fine as she was, she called me downstairs and proceeded to lift up my shirt and say 'you don't want boobs, look at what they've done to your sister. She's fat and has ugly stretchmarks!' They laughed about it and I went back upstairs sobbing.
This was at least 6 years ago now, but it still hurts.0 -
I was at my dad's last night and we got on to the topic of my old best friend
He was saying stuff like
'It's a shame because she has such a pretty face... but now she's a blimp'
and when I told him that she recently had a baby he said
'I didn't know she was pregnant! Then again, if I had seen her out and about I probably wouldn't have been able to tell that she was'
It's funny how my Dad comments on other people's weight like that when he is obese himself >_> I remember when I was 70kgs and was just standing around when he said 'you look pregnant Lucy'... 5 years on and I still remember that comment. You never forget it when people say things like that...0 -

oh my god! How do random people have the balls to say stuff like this to complete strangers? I would be worried about getting belted in the face from saying something like that!0 -
After repeatedly cheating on me and then making an agreement to only sleep with me if I put on porn of skinny blonde chicks or held a porn magazine while we were having sex, my ex said, "If you weren't so fat and disgusting, I wouldn't want to sleep with other women. If you looked like this {he ripped out and threw a Playboy centerfold at me}, I'd never stick my d**k anywhere else. But YOU DON'T... count yourself lucky that you get any at all Lard *kitten*!"
That's just evil. I'm sorry this happened to you but seriously, ladies, when a guy does/says something like this to you, NOW is the time to get the *kitten* out of there! Any guy who speaks to you this way is not a man and not worth your time. SMH.0
