Bump - want to see these. I'm considering it also. Anyone want to throw out an estimate on cost? That, besides the pain and scarring, is my main concern. I have insurance, but it doesn't cover "cosmetic surgery" even though most of my problem is due to having kids. :grumble:0

I took down the access to my blog so here are the actual pics:

Go to realself.com and it will give you an average price of a TT...I think it was around $8k? Most important thing is that you're comfortable with your doctor and that he/she's certified in plastics. Good luck!
My scar isn't having a good time healing, but I'm still extremely happy I no long have my flap. I recently got steroid shots to help get rid of the ridge. My befores and afters and 6 months apart0 -
I would love to get something done (lipo) but I dont have any children and that would be a waste of money. Imstill young so hopefully my belly will shrink in the end0

I'm getting this done this upcoming Friday. It would be indecent to take before pics but it hangs nearly low enough to obstruct my genitals.
In my case it is covered by insurance. So the only out of pocket expense is the $50 copay.0 -
Just had mine done in April. Almost 7 pounds of skin removed.
Pics on my blog jenhudsonmosher.blogspot.com title of the post says pics.
I went to your blog and I am so inspired. I have been so afraid that I would do all this and look worse. I know it isn't about looks I do want to be healthier. I AM already much healthier but there is hope...you look AWESOME! It can be done.
I am where you were when you lost 100lbs and thought you looked great and then ... pictures.
Anyway thanks for sharing your story. It means a lot. I just want to be normal and I am SO angry with myself for not doing this sooner.0 -
my sister had one...she said the pain was HELL but after I complete my 50 lbs I'm on my way to the Dr for a tummy tuck0

I would definitely like to have a TT and my boobs done when I hit my goal weight. I will probably wait a little while to see if I can get it to tone up more but after around a 200 lb weight loss I don't think its going back.0

Totally awesome! Maybe I should get a tattoo there, how was the pain? I am still pretty numb there...how long did you wait?0 -
Pain wasn't too horrible. I waited just over a year to start it0

Good to know, thanks! Off to look at designs!0

Wow. amazing pics to everyone who shared.... So on average.. a TT is about $8K? Do any of you know any reputable surgeons in Southern California? I've lost about 40 lbs and have that same dreadful skin hanging off of my belly...0

I think you can search for, or at least ask on the message boards, for a surgeon in SoCal. Good luck!0 -
At 19 is it awful that I've already looked into this? I went up 4 dress sizes while pregnant and lost over 60lbs in total from having my son in 2010.
My stomach is disgusting and I really hate it, my doctor even said I had the worst stretchmarks he had ever seen! Not what you want to hear at 17 eh?
However, just now I'm saving for a wedding as the sides of my stomach are pretty flat and it's just at my c-section pooch.
Once I'm married, me and the OH want one more kid and afterwards I'm getting boobs and a tummy tuck. I can wait about 6 years ... maybe. Probably not.0 -
My belly pooch was from having twins and I'm only 5'1 so that was a LOT of stretching. 10 years ago I had a tummy tuck. No lipo, just skin removal and tightening the abdominal muscles. Hurt like hell, I took off 2 weeks of work, and even then it was hard to make it through a whole day of work for a while. But I don't regret it for a minute.
My scar is now white and completely flat. No bumps or bulges above or below. Talk to several surgeons, don't go with the first one. I was lucky, a friend of mine is a nurse, so I secretly interviewed 4 docs, narrowed it down to 2, then asked her for her opinion and it really agreed with mine so the decision was easy. DON'T go with a doctor who promises perfect results. They really can't promise how your body will heal, go with a doc who promises reality and gives you all the possibilities. Mine ended up about as close to perfect as you can get, but I was fully prepared to have to deal with worse scarring, or even skin puckers at the ends.
Good luck!0 -

The PS I saw would not let you have a TT if you said you were going to get pregnant again. Besides, would you want to stretch it out all over again??0 -
I haven't had a tummy tuck (no kids for me) but I see that a lot of women said they wanted the get the implant/tummy tuck combo after weight loss and/or after children.
I did get implants after I lost all of my breasts from weight loss. It was by far the best decision I ever made. I'd have cosmetic surgery again in a heartbeat if I needed something fixed. I know that the surgeon I went to offers a "Mommy makeover" which is a breast lift or implants along with a tummy tuck.
Good luck to all :flowerforyou:0 -
I want one too.. I had 4c sections plus over weight,my stomach is not pretty.. but snice I had so many sections is it safe n will it b easier cuz of the previous c sections??0

I completely understand. I was 19 when I had my first and then lost 80 lbs. It took me until I was 25, but I finally got my tummy tuck!0 -

Obviously you'll want to talk to a doctor, but I don't see why it wouldn't be. My PS cut below my c-section scar and completely removed it to make way for another bright shiny scar0 -
