Ladies, would you date someone shorter than you?

My husband is about1/4 inch shorter than me, but it doesn't bother me. To me it is more about thier personality.0
-
I would. I don't care what height my lady is, as long as she's got a great personality and likes me for me.0
-
I wouldn't. I'm just not attracted to men shorter than I am. I'm only 5'3" so it's not really something that I've ever had to worry about in my adult life, but I'm just not into it. I prefer to be able to wear heels and not be taller than the guy I'm with (same height with heels on is fine). I guess it makes me feel petite or something lol0
-
I'm 5'8 and the shortest guy I have dated was 5'4. I hated that I felt I could only wear flats around him. (other short guys I have dated were comfortable with me wearing heels though!)
Went on a date last night and the guy was 6'7!!! First time it's hurt to look up at someone. lol0 -
I'm 5'10" (178 cm) and I will not date anyone shorter than me ( did it once - never again) . Is it superficial? Maybe - but I want to feel safe and enveloped in my mans arms and when he's shorter than me I feel like I was the protector in the relationship. My current SO is 2cms taller than me and it kind of drives me nuts. I hate wearing heels around him, because we look/feel funny when i have to lean down to kiss him.
When you read books about relationships the man is 99.9% of the time usually taller than the woman so that's what I grew up thinking it should be like - i blame all my relationship preassumptions on literature ;-)0 -
I married someone shorter than me once. We didn't divorce because he was short, we divorced because he was a *kitten*.0

Tough one…
I am 6’1” and wear heels (at times near 6’5”).
I dated someone who was 5’9”. He liked it at first, but I guess it got to him. He started *****ing about my heels, or my cowboy boots. Started pushing me towards flats. He actually started wearing MY cowboy boots so that I couldn’t wear them, and he’d be that much taller. I spent a good part of that relationship embarrassed about my height. Then I dumped him and regained myself.
I married someone 6’1” and a half. (He always added the “and a half”). We are now separating after 13 years of marriage – not because of the height, he didn’t seem to care about the heels – liked that my *kitten* was that much easier to grab.
Would I date someone shorter again. Yes, for a couple of reasons… 1) I’m not dating their height, I am dating THEM. 2) My options are pretty limited if I look for 6’2” or higher. Would I be apprehensive about dating someone shorter, sadly yes, because of my first experience. Unless they’ve got history dating someone taller, I don’t know that I’d trust them to know if it truly bothered them.
Would I like someone tall? Well, I’ve always wanted someone who could pick me up without stumbling around as if they’re picking up an elephant. So if you are 5’9” and can lift me – YAY! If you are 6’2” and cannot… :-(0 -
Im 5'8 and would not date someone shorter than me0

One of the first guys I dated was about my height, around 5'2" maybe a little taller. I didn't really care about it, though. My husband is 6'0", but I wouldn't care if he were shorter or taller than that. I guess height doesn't really make a difference for me, unless a guy was much shorter than me, and if he got any short than 4'11", well... then I'd be dating a midget and midget aren't my thing. :ohwell:0
-
It would make no sense for me to date someone shorter than me. I'm like 5'11".
No discrimination on my part because most guys under my height are looking for someone shorter. It seems natural.
Women tend to prefer men who are taller than them, and men tend to prefer women who are shorter than them.0 -
I'm 5'7... my husband is 5'5... so yes lol!0
-
I'm sorry, but no. I'm 5'8...can't do it.0
-
I'm 5'3" and honestly I've never in my 28 years met a guy shorter than I am. Oddly enough, I have never dated a guy shorter than 5'8"...0
-
I'm 5"4' and I only dated guys around my height - shorter than me, my height or a little taller. I loved that we were around the same height for hugging and cuddling. Somehow I ended up marrying my husband who is 6"3'. But I secretly still think short guys are sooooo sexxxy!!!0
-
Most of the men I'm attracted to are taller, just been that way I guess. But I have dated guys that were my height or just an inch taller... but all i know is some of the best sex ive ever had were with the shorter guys ive dated...huh... interesting.0

Tall women rock, short women rock, in between women rock, they all rock.
Mmmmmm where did that come from.0 -
He'd have to be pretty freaking awesome. I'm 5'9" as it is, and I love to wear heels. Some guys find this intimidating/emasculating/whatever.0
-
Considering I'm 4' 10 1/2", this would be a difficult person to find. But in general, I really don't care about height.0
-
I hope no one takes offense, but I know several happy couples where the woman is tall and overweight, and the man is short, skinny, and balding. I kinda figured that in a society that values smaller, skinny women and taller, muscular, non-balding men, the people who least fit those ideals tend to wind up together.
I'm 5'9" and when I *look* at guys on "hotness" alone, I do tend to like tall, somewhat muscular (but not muscle-bound) men. However, when I'm actually talking to someone in the real world, I don't really care how tall they are. I care about *who* they are, how well they take care of themselves and how they treat me. Anything else, we can work around it. :-)0 -
I wouldn't date someone shorter than me.
But, that's because I'm already married - and my husband is about an inch shorter than me.
It doesn't bother me, and I'm sure there would be lots of women who will not care about your height - if you're a nice guy (and I'm sure you are ) they'll see that.
On the other hand if you're a complete jerk, then that would be why they wouldn't like you, not for your height!0 -
I have dated both tall and short. I prefer tall, but if the guy is right I don't mind short Nice tats btw0
-
Yes, why not That's personality that matters, not the height. I was thinking man shall be taller at least half a head then a woman in university. Now it's not important. feel free to approach whomever you want. If a girl would not date you for the fact you are shorter she is a compelte idiot-not a big loss for you0
-
Ok, so my height has worked against me on several occasions. I never pursue a woman taller than 5'6" because of my height. I assume shorter guys are not on their radar, plus short girls make me feel taller.
So i ask, am I wrong to assume that, would you date someone shorter than you?
My honey is 5'6" and I am 5'9" and it works for us0 -
Yes I would date a guy shorter than me.0
-
Nope. I did once. That relationship lasted 2 weeks, I felt like an amazonian warrior next to him!0
-
I'm 5'11'' and my husband is 5'7''. Honestly, I forget how short he is. I always thought I'd marry a tall guy - didn't want to feel like a giant next to hubs...but turns out, I don't. And he encourages me to wear high heels - he thinks it's hot, and it doesn't intimidate him at all. I don't know...maybe it's just my husband, but even though he's 4 inches shorter than I am, we can be dancing or cuddling and I've never felt my height around him.
I say, you see a tall girl that you are attracted to, go for it. If she rejects you because you're short...that's her problem for overlooking a large population of perfectly suitable men.0 -
My opinion always was if the guy was within a few inches of my height it would be no issue. I have kind of mentally screened out shorter guys (because I feel big to them). If I were single then I would not screen out a guy just because he is shorter. A good date (or relationship, marriage) is about so much more than a few inches of height. You never know what you might miss out on.0
-
Im 5ft 9". My partner is 5ft 11". She is a ehole 2 inches taller than me. Doesn;t bother me in the slightest. She doesn;t like wearing heels when she is out with me, but she doesn;t wear heels all that much anyway.
She has no problem at all with it. She is one of those tall lean model looking people( I hate her really lol)0 -
no. it'd be uncomfortable...0
-
I'm 5'4" and I've dated a few guys who were my height. I actually didn't mind it because it's easier to smooch. I dunno if i could go much shorter than what I currently am tho.0
