Almond milk! I never knew I was slightly lactose intolerant until I gave up milk and my stomach problems were gone! Luckily it's not too bad since I still can eat the occasional yogurt and cheese without issue. But the half gallon of milk a day was killing me.0

Quinoa!! I eat this in place of rice and pasta now. I make a big batch of it on Sunday, and use it in lunches and dinners throughout the week.
Me too! I'd never even heard of Quinoa before and all of a sudden it's all over the place! So easy to make and goes with so many things!0 -

Everyone took my favorites, (quinoa, avocado, califlower mash, berries.......)
So I looked in the fridge and found one very obvious one.
Eggs!
prefferably straight from a farm that I know they are outside during the day.
But Free range, organic, simple eggs give me so much nutrition and energy.
Scrambled eggs and sliced tomatoes or half grapefruit is my brain food.0 -
Does juice count as a "food" here? I've been juicing fruits/veggies lately. Easy way for me to get nutrients and whatnot from veggies and fruits I don't care for.
And using the juicer is a little fun too... okay, a lot of fun.0 -
Egg whites, cottage cheese, almond butter, whey protein powder, and I reunited with yams, avocados, peanuts, mustard, and turnip greens!0

Oh, and if you knew how they process "egg whites" and the rejected cracked, eggs that are used for these, you would never eat them again.0

What do you do with the quinoa? I tried to use it a few years ago but must not have had a very good recipe because it wasn't very good.... Would like to incorporate this into my diet, but don't know how to use it. Thanks!0

Fish and Brussels sprouts. For a long time I thought I hated both. Now I've learned that I just hated the way my parents prepared them.
YES!!! I'm exactly the same! My mom had 1 fish dish, that was made in the microwave....mmhmm no wonder I thought I hated fish.0 -
oops pushed the post button twice....0

Mushrooms! Mama loves her mushrooms but didn't know until this year. I put that *kitten* on everything.
In some cases, I have replaced mushrooms for meat.

I just cook it and use it like rice (directions should be on the package) but you absolutely have to rinse it well first. I also have a recipe that's basically tomato sauce on quinoa.
My "discovered" food would be nutritional yeast. Also plain oatmeal - who knew oatmeal was edible without brown sugar?0 -
coconut oil, whey protein powder, hemp hearts0
-
Broccoli slaw! Just had some last night with bolognese sauce. Makes the best spaghetti substitute, IMO. Now that I'm thinking about it, I want some more...0

Oysters with lemon...mmmm0

Avocados
Black Beans
(Re-Discovered) Blackberries

Mangoes, I thought I always hated mangoes but apparently my taste changed when I cut the crap, or maybe I learned how to pick rip ones. LOL I eat one almost every single day now. Ooh and champagne mangoes, so yummy!
Sweet potatoes too. I thought they were the same as yams which I hate. Haha0
