I feel the same way. Hearing the stories, seeing the before and after pics, and reading that you guys are exercising really motivates me to do the same.

Congrats on the run and to many more.

Andrew and Beth- that is so cool! You are going to figure out a way for us to see it, right? We better get to see it! The station should be able to hook you up with a digital copy that can be viewed online..... if not, tell 'em to figure it out! Tell them the Black Team said so. We can't have our teammates on TV and not get to burst with pride watching it!

It's tuesday night. Time to start the new challenge! This challenge is intended to get the old folks back to basic and get the new folks on board with what will spell success here.

It's the patented Marla "Capture every morsel challenge"- This week you will all follow one rule. If it goes in your mouth it is weighted, measured and LOGGED. (If some of you dont have a food scale just do your best to keep it to the serving size.) If its something that can't be measured or logged then dont eat it. This is a very mathimatical process and guessing how many calories something has never works out. I know you guys can do it! Lets roll with week two.

    P.S.

I have gotten quite a few reported weigh in. Remember you guys have until tommorow evening to get them to me. If I don't have it come posting time then I will post the spreadsheet without them. 3 straight weeks without a reported weight in and I will remove your name from the list. I will always add it if you come back but for ease of tracking I am only going to be looking at the folks who are reporting weights.

Thanks guys. Off to get a run in!

    Talk to you later!

    :drinker:

You would think that after 15 mos of this lifestyle change I would have a food scale. Nope, not yet I dont:noway: I'd like to say that Im pretty good at eyeballing it...but I guess you never really know until you actually SEE how small a serving is...

The best I can do this week is promise to try to get a food scale...and for anything I can use measuring cups and spoons for, I will:smile:

Oh! Good morning Black Team:flowerforyou: Good luck to everyone with the weigh ins!!

Interesting story- The local NBC affiliate in Portland, ME has a weekly news segment on Monday called "Fit at five". It's a weekly segment that covers stories of health and wellness in Maine and they occasionally profile Mainers that have lost weight. I think it's a great segment so I emailed the station to let them know that I think the segment is great and shared DW and my story. Well The reporter who does the segment just sent me the following email.

    Andrew,
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing story. Would you and your family be at all interested in being featured in one of my segments? It is very inspirational, and especially the fact that you two made the change together is so important! I would love for you two to be a part of Fit at Five. Let me know what number would be best to reach you at and we can set up a future shoot.

    Take Care, Kelly LaBrecque

Lol, Black teams Is gonna make the news in Portland.

    :drinker:

Wow That's awesome! Can't wait to hear the updates on that. Make sure we get the utube version

Good Morning Black Team. Wicked was awesome last night but I might have gone a little overboard on dinner. I also twisted my ankle with my run yesterday morning. Iced it all day and then taped it up to go to the show. Feels much better now but I'm not going to run for a day or 2. Will try the stairmaister. off for my weigh in! later..

    Evening Black team,

Had a good night. Got a short run in to keep me loose. Focused on the strength training. My heart rate monitor is on the fritz. I changed the battery and It still keeps losing my heart rate.....ah well. I'll figure it out. Anyhoo. Gotta get to bed. Have to be up at 4am to make it to the pool to swim before work.

Have a good night my team!

    Good luck with weigh ins!

Maybe it's your heart that's on the fritz?

Sorry Andrew...but that was FUNNY! :blushing:

The scale was so nice this morning. I love it right now and those aren't words I say often. I will say there is this little nagging fear in the back of my head reminding me that next week will probably not be so kind. It's like the BL Week 2 Curse. BUT, for today, I'm going to enjoy.

I saw a number I've NEVER seen so far in this journey. Oooohhhh, yeeeaaahh!

Well to Andrew and Beth for getting on the radio.

Well it has again snowed here, so did the school run in the car - which was a little scary and the rear end kept stepping out ( and I drive a GMC Surburban, so guess it was more scary for the other drivers :ohwell: ). So will be walking to school this afternoon with Christopher (my 2 year old) in the buggy to collect 2 of his brothers (the 12 year old is coming home at 1.20pm :grumble: ) and 3 others. So I have just been on the bike before more children arrive and managed 31 minutes and 575 calories with Christopher's help!!!

Andrew - I have scales but they aren't brilliant so I will try my best with this weeks challenge (don't have spare money to buy scales with 2 birthdays either side of this week  )

Donna - sorry to hear that you hurt your ankle, and glad that you enjoyed wicked. I kept dropping hints to dh (rob) that I would like to see it but no luck yet :frown:

Morning to everyone else, got to run....... need a shower before extra children arrive :ohwell:

Good weigh in morning Black Team!!:drinker: Im off to do mine here in a few. Im kinda nervous, but regardless of what the scale says, I know I worked hard this week.

Terry--Keep drinking that water! I've had kidney stones a couple of times in the past and they are sooo painful!:frown: Thankfully I havent had to deal with them since I gave up all the soda I used to drink. But I do remember being told by the Drs to flush, flush, flush it out with water:drinker:

Shuntae and Leslie--Glad you ladies are feeling better!:flowerforyou:

    Melissa--Love the AV...to cute!!

Andrew--What is up with your HRM?? I would be sooo lost without mine. I have found that the HRM's on the gym equiptment are way off....sometimes by as much as 200 calories or more:noway: I have been using mine for a year this past christmas, any idea how long the batteries are supposed to last? I heard that you have to send them off to get the batteries replaced...do you know if thats true? I have a Polar F4...

Jeannie--I am having a moment of silence for your missing smilies:cry::wink:

Donna--Glad you enjoyed Wicked! I would love to see it. Take care of that ankle!:flowerforyou:

Well guys, my first born is officially 20 years old today:smooched: Not sure what hes going to want for dinner tonight...we always do whatever the birthday "person" wants for dinner on their birthday. Geez, I can remember when he always chose hot dogs, hot dogs, hot dogs:noway: So glad he grew out of that...except that his thing lately has been Buffalo Wild Wings! Yuck! We'll see what he has in store for us this evening:laugh:

    Off to weigh (fingers crossed)

Roni/Marla/Lori/Jeannie -- Woot to you all! Ankle is feeling great! Icing it right away really helped. I told Batman that I know I should be happy with 1.5 but I remember all the re-join days at WW where that first week I expected a big weight loss and usally chimed in with 3 or 4. Getting older I have to realistic and realized that 1.5 per week IS what I want to do....and KEEP DOING!

Have a great day everyone! I will not eat anything that I have to guess at. I don't think I can be disciplined at a scale but I will measure and only eat what the portion says....and continue to :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

Hold everything, troops-- make that 2 pounds lost since last week. :blushing:

Soooooooo-- did I mention that I'm on medicines? And have I also mentioned that they're rather, uh, constipating?

Well, uh, due to recent, uh, developments since I weighed this morning, uh, I've since lost 1/2 pound extra. :embarassed: I'm claiming it and moving (pardon the pun) on.

Guess everybody who thinks I'm full of it is right-- who knew?

TMI-- I know, deal with it people.

Well guys, I know your wondering why Im not at the gym right now (yes, you are, you know you are lol:wink: ). I decided this morning that Im going to do something different. In keeping with the challenge for the week (kind of) Im going back to basics on exercising today. Back when I first started, I had no access to a gym and did everything right in my living room. Lost my first 90 lbs or so that way:tongue: So, today I am breaking out my old friend Leslie Sansone and gonna walk away some pounds in my living room again:drinker: (I know you remember our old friend Leslie, right Jeannie? )

I think it will be nice to shake things up a bit. But even more than that Im looking forward to using it as a way to see how far Ive come. I remember how tough some of her DVD's were for me and how beat up I felt when I was done:blushing: so Im hoping that I will find them not as tough as I used to:wink:

    Wish me luck guys:drinker:

I love the new hair, very cute!! And congrats on being sooo close to achieving your goal! You really rock girl!!:drinker: :flowerforyou:

    Morning all!!

Andrew I did really well this am. I made breakfast like I usually do but I counted EVERYTHING!!! every little bite I took.

Last night we went out for dinner had a "date" night I ordered the Chicken Bella at ruby tuesdays and instead of the mashed potatoes I got the mashed cauliflower with broccoli. I also got the salad bar and ate 2 plates of salad before dinner got there. I was so stuffed that all I ate was the chicken and gave the rest to my hubs. We also saw Sherlock Holme! VERY GOOD!

I am about to workout but I have to wait until hubs gets off the treadmill first. He has softball coming back soon so he needs to get back into shape.

    Have a great day everyone!

Good Wednesday morning...Down 1 pound this week. Slow and steady. Have to hurry and start typing. Up most of the night with a sick child. Whew, what a long week and it is only Wednesday. Today is my last day of typing 8 hours a day, Thursday and Friday are only about 2 a day (kinda like a day off). Everybody have a great day. Will catch up on posts later.

Hey-- may as well keep the "retro week" going from facebook--

This is me at age 2-3-- give or take. You think my mother would actually know when this was taken? Puh-- as if.

This was before I entered into my 40 year long awkward period--

Up a pound this week and I know this is going to sound horrible but I don't care... Dh took grandpa to the ER last night (it is his grandpa but in a divorce I get him as I adore and love him so very much) at 9:30 pm. Heart issues, they got him stablized and dh got home at 2 am. I didn't sleep until he got home, still didn't sleep, phone woke me at 5, it was grandma. Anyway, grandpa got a 200 mile one way ambulance ride to a Heart Hospital, I am exhausted and tired and scared and pi**ed because I am stronger than this. Emmy can't keep her balance and she is stumbling all over, she is bruised all over from falling, going to the doctor tomorrow to discuss wheelchairs and so forth. I am stiting here crying, what is wrong with me, I have to get strong. I am so sorry I am telling you all of this, I don't even know why I am rambling to you guys.

    Hey all!

Up half a pound this morning - still in the happy range, so it's all good. Probably just extra water from all the soup and medicine over the weekend. There is only so much water a girl can drink in just a couple days to get rid of that. Sounds like y'all are doing well with the weigh ins, so congrats to everyone!

    Have a great day!
