Well, I wasn't expecting a loss after what my numbers have been all week (2-3 pounds up from last weigh in) but here we are Friday morning at 222.0. Guess it was just TOM water retention. Funny thing is I feel more bloated today than I have all week. But, that's a 1.8 pound loss and I'm going to take it and run.

Just about 17 pounds until I hit my lowest weight ever (as an adult)!

Edit to add Snowflakes (we were weighing in at the same time )

  Almost 5 pounds!!!!!!

I started off this month at 200 (New Years Eve) and just bumped around 197 198 and now FINALLY I got another drop! My first goal (edited to change "goat" to "goal" although "first goat" is kinda fun!) is 190 by Valentines day and I think I'm going to make it!

I track my calories and use a five day running average. The losses come after weeks where I really eat right to my target (including the exercise calories). I don't hit it every day - but the average over five days stays pretty steady!

If anyone wants a copy of my excel sheet just Private Message me your email address and I'll send it to you :)

    198-193.2= 4.8
    4.8/198= 0.0242424
    0.0242424 x 100 = 2.4%

Positivelyme, before you hit "post reply," highlight your entire post and press "Ctrl" and "C" at the same time. This will copy what you've written so if you lose it, you'll just be able to go back, hit "reply" and then press "Ctrl" and "P" and that'll paste your post so you can try to submit it again.

Mike replied to a thread complaining about this that we shouldn't see any more errors like that so much.

I personally think it's because the MFP server is overloaded thanks to all the new years resolutioners. Even if the problem continues, I bet it won't continue for very long as people drop like flies off the wagon (sorry to say, but you know it's true).

And mstahl! :noway: Wow! Awesome job! :drinker:

Me and my obsessiveness about cleaning the list up....I guess its the mathematician in me. Anyway, so not too happy with the .2 loss, but atleast its a loss. I went to the gym on wednesday so my guess is my poor aching muscles are retaining most of the water I drink in. I just cant wait till it all comes off.

AMAZING job, mstal! that is AWESOME!

And great job everyone else! I just love seeing everyone come out for weigh in day. I'm sad that my mom didn't stick around but she's starting slowly but surely...maybe eventualy she'll come and use the forums when she needs them. Though I did print out a menu to a restaurant we ate at to show her the calories...she was surprised, and I learned that she was logging everything here..even the mcdonalds she had that morning. I could tell the logging was working because she was amazed at how bad certain foods were for you and now she's making a point to avoid them. Yay!

Oh, and Positively me! that reminds me of something...now that I'm taking a business programming class, I could probably write a program to do that formula for us  I wonder if I could get it working right, it would save me a ton of hassle.

jlb123 - I just posted about the capacity issues - it's hard to be too upset when you know how much WE love this and it's based on ad revenue... I keep recommending to people so I'm just adding to the problem...

:drinker: Here's to all of us losers logging our updates every morning!!!

:flowerforyou: I took a few minutes to click on the ads of our "sponsors" because they pay MFP for every Ad Click they get (I know because I advertise on Facebook!)

 I'm still bouncing around from my weight loss this week! Of course it will be awesome if one of you beats me

 I click 'em a lot, too. Well, that is to say I click the ads that don't look like they're going to fill my computer with adware, at least.
    Viva la free MFP!

    No problem -- here's a quick calculation.

Take the amount you lost (1.8 pounds) and divide it by your previous weight (246.8).

    1.8/246.8 = .0072933549...

Then, to get the percentage, you just move the decimal over to the right 2 digits: So, your percentage is .72933.... We round to the hundreth, so your percentage is .73%!
    Right?
