I had my standard "go to" sandwich:

2 slices of Sarah Lee 45 calorie whole wheat bread
1/2 avocado spread on one (instead of mayo)
    Alfalfa sprouts
    1/2 Persian cucumber, slices
    2 red lettuce leaves
5 slices of roasted turkey (1 serving)
5 slices of ham (1 serving)

I also had a side of about 10 asparagus spears.

    this sounds delicious!

I'm a consultant and on the road about 17 days a month. That usually means i often have a protein bar for lunch. Staying where I got free breakfast, so I saved 1/2 for lunch. This means lunch was about 1/2 C cottage cheese mixed w/ 6 oz non fat yogurt, and about 1 Cup of fresh fruit. Really try to eye ball portion sizes accurately, as I know I'd only be cheating myself, not the system!

My usual huge salad: 1 head iceberg lettuce + 1 can tongol tuna (no salt added) + homemade dressing (extra-virgin olive oil, vinegar, garlic powder, paprika), plus a cup of Guayaki Mate Chocolatte tea = 465 calories, 17g carbs, 29g fat, 41g protein, 760 mg potassium, 204 mg sodium.

3.5 ounces grilled chicken breast, 1/3 cup of black beans, 2 T of diced onion heated and placed on a bed of lettuce, then 2 T of salsa. I cut a corn tortilla in strips and crisped them in a hot oven to make "tortilla chips" to crunch on top.
  • i usually bring leftovers from the night before dinner. yesterday was grilled pork chop w/homemade applesauce and steamed broccoli sprinkled w/smidge of parm cheese. Today I "thought" I had grabbed leftovers (roasted duck) but ended up with just the carcass. Headed to cafeteria and caved into temptation and got 3 chicken tenders. I DID have leftover roasted carrots and sauteed baby bok choy w/mushrooms, so wasn't a total waste. Tonight I will repent and eat the leftover borscht I made on Sunday. I'm just not a sandwich person.

This all sounds good. I think I need to go grocery shopping! I had leftovers - brown rice, black beans and a little cheese. I heated it up and ate it at my desk at work. Not very exciting but fills me up.
