Marla, you could be my nurse any day. I would prefer the no nonsense approach compared to the softly softly way. My thoughts are with you. Look after yourself as well, and so glad that you got 9 hours sleep (part of me can't wait for Rob to go away with work as I tend to get more sleep when he is away! )
Check in later, t xx0 -

I'm gonna freakin' KILL him.
He just called me, "I'll be home later. I'm signing myself out. I'm not sitting here all weekend."
Blah, blah, blah-- now that he knows what "it" feels like when his heart rate drops, he knows what to do to correct it.
As I begin to blast him, "Oh, yeah, how? A deep breath is all? And that's gonna keep you from napping all freaking day?' The line goes dead. He hangs up on me. (or got disconnected-- I'll give him the benefit of the doubt)
You'll be reading about me in the papers tomorrow, my friends-- "Mother of nine, kills husband in a rage."
My friends-- truly-- you can't know how this man has been in our bed day in, day out-- I've been furious. I wasn't sure if it's "depression" which pisses me off-- or health related, in which case, get to the damn doctor--
This cannot continue or truly there will be a crime committed.
"A prudent man sees danger and seeks shelter, while the simple keeps going and suffers for it." If I had a nickel for every time in 22 years I've thrown that proverb in the man's face for stupidity--
And yeah, yeah, I shouldn't be whining here-- I'm up to here, my friends-- UP TO FREAKING HERRRRRRRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Marla !
Tell hubby, like Shunate, "Keep you *kitten* in the hospital" Love and Hugs from OH.0 -
Dear Marla's DH,
Please keep your *kitten* in the hospital, where it belongs! :noway: When will you guys get it? Love and Hugs from IL.
P.S. Happy Birthday Abby!0 -

Marla- big hugs to you. Hang in there. You can do it. Remember how you've felt things have been looking up for the Brown family? Well, they still are. Hubs finally went to the doctor. You have an idea of what needs to happen for him to feel better. He will get things taken care of, he will hopefully stop sleeping his life away, he will feel better and maybe he'll put more effort into the employment thing.
Just breathe deep and tell yourself your family is on the right path again. It will all be ok. Yes you want to kill him RIGHT NOW, but it will get better. Keep saying it. It will get better. It will get better. Monday isn't that far away.
Take all your pent up stress and frustration, sneak out of the house and go run, run, run. You need the endorphins!0 -
If it wasn't so dadgum windy, I would....maybe later. :ohwell:0

Windy...schmindy...Go run !
Happy Birthday Abby !0 -
Evening team...Had a busy day today. Started out with youngest bowling and then we went for a picnic and a family bike ride at Cowpens National Battleground. It is a nice 3 mile ride with some hills but not too bad. Now it is popcorn and Planet 51 movie time. We tried to see it at the "big movie" and it was sold out. Then we tried to rent it twice and both times it was out of stock. So I broke down and bought the DVD because youngest wants to see it so bad. Hope it is worth $20. Tomorrow is gym day plus work. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Marla...I hope things go well for you and your family. I will keep you in my prayers.0 -
Windy...schmindy...Go run !
Happy Birthday Abby !
35 mph wind gusts?

Can't see the pic but my cousin lives in wantagh NY and she texted me to tell me that her 14 foot trampoline flew over their 6 foot fence and into the rode. I don't think I would go running either!!!0 -

It was windy here today but nothing like that! I spent all day outside and I've got some windburn to prove it. My face, eyes and lips are hurting!0

All right !0 -
Evening my friends--
Birthday festivities complete for Abigail-- thanks to all for the wishes. She had a good day, I believe.
Tomorrow we head out to pick up mother-in-law for the day--
I refuse to dwell any longer this day on the health issues of the other half-- nothing I can do about it, no point *****ing any further.
We had a nice cup of coffee out-- amazing how stress leaves once Starbucks enters.
Heading to transcribe the ridiculous audio diary of a narcissistic network executive-- unbelievable how pompous some people are. At least this particular job pays well.
Later, my team.0 -
Oh yeah-- and as we were having coffee, hubs was discussing how gratified he feels to take control of this issue, walking out of the hospital, not being told what to do-- being so defeated in unemployment, having no power in the nightmare regarding his mother's health-- he didn't sit there for 3 days waiting for the doctors to decide what to do-- blah, blah, blah-- and handled it his way--
I said, "Sing it Frankie."
For my husband-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E2hYDIFDIU
Men-- :noway:0 -
Marla, I hope that hubs gets the help he needs, my thoughts are with you and your family
It is Mothering Sunday here in the UK, and at 10.15am I am so not impressed with my children!! No card or anything, except what John made in reception class and a card from one of the minded children. My boys are bickering, winding each other up and in general being their usual little (or not so little in the case of ds1) selves. Why can't they turn in stepford children for 1 day - you know the children that will do as they are asked first time, that won't argue and bicker with each other etc etc etc. Well they never managed it on my birthday, so today won't be any different - back to the chores etc
Will come back later, have to visit my step mum, and am going to make the boys walk - might get an afternoon sleep with little Chris0 -

Tanya-- I'm so sorry. Sounds like my house-- although, truly, I never hold the kids responsible-- my husband will go out of his way to get his mother something-- even drove an hour plus one year just to give her a plant-- I got nothin'-- big, fat nothin'-- I was miffed to say the least.
However, it still beats all the Mother's Days where we would HOST his mother for a barbeque-- I'd be cooking all freaking day, cleaning-- lovely stuff.
I hate Mother's Day. Only thing I look forward to some day is the thought of my sons ignoring their wives to honor me-- ha.
Hubs is on cloud nine today-- so thrilled he left the hospital, and is now questioning the validity of a pacemaker. He's now thinking it all revolves around allergies/asthma-- the last 4 months of trouble has coincidentally timed with bringing the cat indoors (remember the one we stole-- ha) and he's notoriously allergic to cats.
Who knows-- call me Pontius Pilate-- I wash my hands of it. From here on out, as I told him, my goal in life is just to make sure no matter what other bills may go neglected, that his life insurance always gets paid.
Whaddyagonnado?0 -

Whaddyagonnado?
LOL. You crack me up.
Edit to add: Whether hubs thinks his issues are asthma/allergy related or not, the fact is his heart rate drops so dangerously low, they called and told him to come back to the ER immediately. Kick his *kitten* the whole way to the doctor, get the darn pacemaker and tell him to stop being a royal pain in the a$s.0 -
Lori-- I'm serious about the life insurance. Last week his premium was due, and I paid that instead of the phone bill.
And I can't tell him anything. He listens to nobody.
Have a lovely day!
But edited to add-- I'm also SOOOOOOO not putting up with any more up to the minute broadcasts of his symptoms. I had to hear all about what he read online about "bradycardia" the slow beating of the heart -- blah, blah, blah. The look on my face must have spoken volumes because he finally said, "Why are you so grumpy? Sheesh-- you've been a ***** all day." I just put my headphones back on, and went back to my typing.
Heaven better be worth all this crap, Lord, or you and I are gonna have it out.0 -

I love you Marla! I just read through the saga of the hospital. You are just like me. And it is good we didn't become nurses.
Although maybe a nurse in a Catholic Hospital would work. Sister Mary Of The Get-Over-Yourself Hospital.
Doesn't he know it's all about you???? What is he thinking?0 -
And I can't tell him anything. He listens to nobody.
Hasn't he ever heard "Pride goeth before a fall?"
At least you tried *hugs*0 -
Good morning everyone!
Wow Marla, hubby really is a stubborn one isnt he?:ohwell: I understand your frustration and aggravation, but I truly hope that he puts away all that stubborn pride (?) and does what's necessary to take care of his health. He has a beautiful family and he should be around to watch them all grow into wonderful adults Just my humble opinion:blushing:
Well, I did something this morning that I never do. I actually slept past 6am! Im normally up around 4:30am even on weekends, and even when I attempt to sleep late I never sleep past 6. Today I woke up a few times and said hey, its daylight savings time now...Im getting my lost hour. I didnt get up til 9am! I feel out of sorts, like I lost a big part of the morning, but it was nice:blushing:
Ok, Im off and running for the day...(Not literally lol) I know its a few days early, but Im thinking of putting on my corned beef and cabbage today. I have a taste for it and hey, there are NO rules:laugh:
Have a beautiful Sunday my friends!:flowerforyou:0 -
((((Marla))))
Roni, If you have a taste for it, go for it. Like you said there are no rules.
Tanya, So sorry you have a bad day. I hope it got better for you.
Everyone else , Hi !!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Bobbi, it didn't get alot better, I took 3 of my 4 boys (ds2 has gone to a friends for the day) to see my step mum for the first mother's day since my dad passed away! The boys played with the the lego and blew some bubbles with nan, but when nan gave John the bottle everything went wrong, and he spilt bubble liquid all over the glass display table, so we had to remove the glass top to make sure that the 'cottages' that my dad brought for my step mum were ok. This being done we walked to the local shops and I brought the boys a kfc for lunch, which the little 2 didn't eat and my eldest son has complained about ever since he ate it!!! and to top it all dh came home from work early, but with no card or gift - if I forget fathers day do you think he'll be pee'd!!!
All good fun here, mothers day comes once a year but why bother?? Its for the adults for their parents (mothers) not for the kids to remember us!!! URGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Happy Mother's Day Tanya!0

Happy Mother's Day Tanya!:flowerforyou: Oh Im sure you'd better not forget Father's Day!:laugh:0
