PJ's in public?

PJ's at 6:30am, walking a dog in an empty park across the street is.... I don't give a rat *kitten* what others think...
Beyond that, get your lazy *kitten* in the shower and put on some clean clothes.
I still don't care what others think, but it's the principle.0 -
I agree with you PJ's are for in the house and in all honesty I silently mock those that wear their PJ's in public regularly. IE. Highschool kids... they do it ALL the time.0
-
I work retail overnight so this is really nothing new to me. I see it all the time. I don't mind if people com in in something like sleep pants and slippers but some types of pjs are only meant to be seen by you and your significant other.0
-
I personally prefer going out in public with NO pants on. I dunno, it's just my thing.0
-
yea i cannot wear pj's in public...UGH!!! Its takes 2 minutes to put a pair of jeans on or jogging pants!0

Yes I Wear lounge pants and t-shirts and slippers out all the time it is really hard for me to get around with all of my medical conditions and I wear slippers because my feet swell so bad from my heart condition I can't get them into normal shoes I would love to be able to wear normal shoes but I can't without severe pain , I am not lazy and I have not given up on myself or I wouldn't be on here trying to lose weight it has been a struggle with everything else in my life . I guess some people do wear them for no reason butnot all . I'm 40 yrs old and not wearing them to offend anyone , I guess just like anything else people might not want to judge a book by its cover . I wish I wasn't sick and could wear normal clothes n shoes everyday like I use to. Oh how I hope that day will come again for me but until then would hope that people wouldn't judge me and make me feel bad for not being able to all the time . Sorry
^^^^^^this^^^^ my fellow friends is one of the BIGGEST reasons i do not judge people u never know what they got going on! shame on all of you thats my opinion to all of your negative opinions!
I think that most people can tell the difference between someone wearing slippers and pj clothes because of a medical condition and those that simply don't care anymore.
Walmart - those teen & 20 year olds wearing what they think to be "cute" pajama pants and slippers...that's not for medical reasons. Especially if there is more than one in a group! THOSE people just make me shake my head.
I will simply NOT go anywhere outside of my house without a bra on. I don't have big knockers (or even medium-sized knockers), but I just CAN'T! Therefore, I will never be caught dead going anywhere in my PJ's since I'm already having to put on a bra - I might as well make the extra 10 second effort to put pants on.0 -
Once in a while if I'm in a hurry before i get ready for the day and have to go to Target or something, ill go with my pj flannel pants and a hoodie. Im not gonna spend 20 minutes getting ready just so people dont "judge" me....thats kinda crazy.
Im comfortable doing it so thats all that matters. For those that dont like it...dont look at me. :flowerforyou: Simple0 -
If it's Walmart it's fine....
QFT If you don't believe this, just either spend some time on www.peopleofwalmart.com or visit a WalMart for yourself...here's one of my most recent sitings:
I'm going to edit to add...these people did not have any medical issues, they were just worried about what pizza to get. AND, I don't care if you wear pj's, sweats, yoga pants, or underwear in public...just don't wear something that looks like you got it out of your wife's closet.
Also, I'd much rather a guy wear pj's or sweats in public than skinny jeans.0 -
I agree, PJ's should only be for around the house!
The closest I've gotten to that state is getting up, realising I need milk at the shop (literally less than 1 minute walk) for breakfast. Sling the first top I see on, usually the one I wore the day before. Trackies. First pair of shoes that I find that just slip on. Coat. Hair up and I'm fine. Any thing else that's more than the corner shop, I'd at least have to put fresh clothes on and brush my hair! lol0 -
i love this thread.
People who do not care what you think have ruined your day by not attempting to impress you.
Here you went and got dressed, probably in nice new clothes, to fit your nice new body that you've been working so hard for. You did your hair. You checked your reflection. Put on your face, some deodorant, probably even cologne. You're wearing nice shoes. You don't have dirt under your fingernails.
and that guy in WalMart in that picture up there
just doesn't give two fVcks. he has power over you and he doesn't even care. He's the honey badger of your shopping experience. He's the forum troll of the real life.
get over yourselves, LOL. pjs are seriously your first world problem?0 -
When i was younger maybe. Now that I work for a real estate board and I manage 500 members, I ALWAYS see one in public on a daily basis.
Not that it's needed but my boss has always warned me about looking presentable in public. It never fails, you run into a Realtor.0 -
It's not you. I live in a college town and I'm always seeing young women wandering around in pajamas and flip flops. It makes me feel old but, but I just want to scold them.
By no means do I feel the need to always put on makeup and do my hair to go out, but I at least get dressed......0 -
it is a big issue in some areas of the UK as parents are dropping their kids off at school still in their PJs, doing the shopping and more. Some schools have banned parents from doing this (though can't legally enforce it) and the media has a field day on this one lol. Personally I love my pjs but would not normally wear outside except on a campsite for obvious reasons. (The loo being in a different place) and even then I slip my coat over the top. I have driven the kids to school with a pj top on underneath a jumper/coat years ago when they were little and i worked late into the night, but that was due to me needing as much sleep fitting in as possible.0

Umm, just no. Not at the store, not on an airplane, not in public - - period.0
-
I've worn my slippers in public, accidentally. I had been out shoveling snow, and my shoes were cold and wet, so I changed into my warm fleece-lined slippers, and forgot I had them on until I was in the grocery store and looked down. They look like Ugg boots, though... it's not like I was wearing my Hello Kitty slippers.
Yet strangely, I hate Ugg boots and wouldn't wear THEM in public or private.
But my jammies? No.0 -
Pajamas should be worn at home and lets keep scrubs at the workplace, please. Its tacky.0
-
I won't wear PJS or sweats in public.0
-
PJs in public = a slovenly person.0
-
If you're not sick, or not in college and rolling out of bed to attend an early morning lecture, then your PJs don't belong in public.
Sorry.
At LEAST throw on a pair of black yoga pants.0 -
well from reading this thread, apparently everyone things I'm ghetto, redneck, or that I have no respect for myself. I wear my PJs all the time...especially when i'm going to the gym and I'm going to be changing anyway.
I'm a very laid back person, and it's not that i don't care about myself....it's that i don't care about what others think.0 -
I can't stand it. It REALLY irks me when it looks like somebody just rolled out of bed and decided shopping. Not too long ago, I saw a man in his flannel pajamas, slippers and robe. Crust all on his face... just, ewww.0
-
The jokes on all of you because my yoga pants are my pajamas!0
-
Woh...you people are getting pretty hostile about people wearing their pajamas in public. Lol. I can understand not wanting to see people wear pajamas at a nice restaurant, but if it's late at night and someone needs to run to the store I don't think they need to be shamed.
It doesn't make someone a complete slob or lazy just because they're wearing their pajamas in public. I've done it plenty of times and I don't care. I don't want to put on makeup or get dressed after 8 PM just because I need some milk, toilet paper, a snack.
Way to be over dramatic about what SOMEBODY else is wearing. LOL!
Pretty much this.0 -
Personally, it's not for me. The only time I've ever stepped outside in my pajamas was a couple of weeks ago after stomach surgery when my PJ pants were the only thing that didn't rub on my incision, but that was only to run to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription.
That said, if someone else doesn't care what it looks like, it doesn't ruin my day. Shoot, I barely notice. Their life, their choices. No big thing.0 -
I think it's dumb, and I definitely take it as a sign of lack of self-respect, but I can't say that it makes me angry, at least not if we're talking about strangers.
That said, I have a cousin (a 29-year-old female) who wears pajamas to family dinners at my grandparents' house, and that annoys the crap out of me. Our family functions are nearly always casual. No one would bat an eye at showing up in jeans and a hoodie. But this girl wears actual flannel pajamas. Last year at Christmas, she even wore a bathrobe over them. And she has a good job and makes more than enough money to buy decent clothes. It blows my mind that she does this, and I just think it shows a total lack of respect for my grandparents, for the family in general, and for herself that she can't even put forth the effort to get dressed for Christmas dinner.0 -

I think Ugg boots are uglier than *kitten*...right there with you, Lorina!0 -
I look at it this way:
If you don't like looking at me in my PJ's at the store, then look away. I'm not here to please you. I'm comfortable so deal with it. Your opinion is not needed, nor does it matter at all.
sorry it's so big...but you get it. lol0 -

Thank you! This!0 -
Never. I would never wear PJ's in public. Even when I lived in a village with 300 people, I would still never leave our property in my PJ's. And I certainly don't do that now that I live in a big city downtown.. The closest thing I do is wear a trench coat to cover my PJ's if I just have to get something real quick.0

wearing pajamas to a classy place like 7-11 or CVS? aren't they black tie optional stores?0
