I restarted Insanity on the 6th alongside TurboFire because TF isn't intense enough for me. My goal for this round of Insanity is a six pack and conquering Level 3 drills. I'm so terrible at push ups.

I tried to do Insanity, but my knees wouldn't hold. I'm doing P90x and losing the inches while building up strength. I may try Insanity again after antoher round of P90x.

Switch kicks and those level 2 and 3 drills are my least favorite exercise.

lol, oh yea, i never did all 32 push ups in a level two drill either, came really close a few times but never did all 32.

power pushs suck when your already winded too lol

all i really know is that Power 90 (p90) is the precuersor to power 90 extream (p90x) so i assume p90 is easier and i don't think there is any plyo metrics.

honestly its hard to say which is 'easier' between p90x and insanity. i guess a good rule of thumb would be if you hate cardio then p90x would be easier because there is really only two days of cardio (one hard one) and if you hate weight lifting then insanity would be easier becasue there is no weights (but still a lot of push ups and stuff).

Although i'm sure you get a great workout with the bands, i'd almost say you shouldn't bother with p90x if you can't do one pull up and i think it even suggest a minimum number of pull ups you should be doing before attempting the program in the fitness test protion of the fitness guide.

Neither is particularly "easy". The reason I personally chose Insanity was because I didn't want to have to buy the extra equipment that P90X uses. Insanity was the better choice because I didn't need a lot of room and no equipment was needed either. Insanity is a lot of lower body moves: squats, lunges, jumps with pushups, planks and things like that thrown in as well. You're not going to build a ton of upper body muscle with it but you WILL get strength through the pushups. If you're looking to do a weight type routine then do the P90X.

And as someone else stated if you're not keen on weights then do Insanity. If you're not keen on cardio then do P90X.

INSANITY Week 2 Day 3 Done! Plyometrics cardio circuit rocks! The plank push ups, in and out and side jumps were awesome (and tough, of course)!

Did the insanity upper body workout for the first time last night! Could barely lift my coffee cup this morning.

Now after working 7am till 5pm I've got pure cardio and cardio abs. Might switch with tomorrow tbh...

I'm on week 6 of P90x after several years of not having a regular exercise routine. This is just the first step in a long road to getting healthy again. I've seen results too and made milestones like being able to do the Wheel Pose (a back arch) during Yoga. Keep up the good work!

It's one of the "bonus" DVD's in the deluxe workout.
  • I just started Insanity yesterday! I thought I was in fairly good shape, but I was completely winded and sore after the fit test. I'm hoping to improve a lot though. :o)
  • I did Insanity back in October for a month straight...and strayed from the path as Thanksgiving came around. I am now starting Insanity all over again today. Wish me luck! Looking to lose 30-40 pounds by July for my wedding.

You feel sore because it worked! Drink plenty of water, don't skip the stretching, and press play everyday, you'll feel much better after a week!

I was waaaaayyyy out of shape when I started P90X this past October. If you haven't been working out or have much cardio exercise, I would recommend P90X :) You work out 6 days a week. 3 out of the 6 days you do resistance training like weight lifting and stuff and the other 3 days are cardio. It's one of the best fitness programs ever invented. Ping me if you have any questions, I can help you get started :)

Yesterday was Cardio Recovery. Instead of doing that, I did Chest Shoulders and Triceps plus biceps. Gotta work those muscles!

i made the banana blue berry pancakes with egg beaters. I think it was a little tastier with a real egg, but still good, so an egg white would probably be a little better. you can also put cinnamon in it.

    @paxfaux - that sounds delicious!

Tonight is Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs for me. Pure Cardio alone is intense enough. I'm not sure if how well I would handle the cardio abs right after the main workout. Has anyone done that before?

think thats how most people do it to be honest with you.

its not as bad as you might think. and its worth just getting it over with. i just hate how you do a little jumping around warm up before the ab work

the asylum/insanity hybrid will sometimes have you do a full insanity workout and a full asylum workout same day. those i didn't do back to back lol.

saw a teenage chick on here is doing insanity and p90x at the same time, not a hybrid, both programs. well she said she was doing pure cardio and back and bis today anyway, maybe it was just a one day thing.

some guy has a p90x/insanity group that i joined. he asked me to leave because i wouldn't sign him up as a coach lol. thats by far the worst thing about BB if you ask me.
