right ..one medium pizza from Domino's is like 2000 calories...that is some peoples intake for a day ...

if you make it yourself then that is different ..

but to go pizza has an insane amount of calories in it...

Huh? A 5 pound bag of sweet potatoes has over 2500 calories, but I wouldn't tell people not to eat sweet potatoes because of that.

I have pizza just about every weekend. Can fit 3 slices of thin crust into my daily calorie goal no problem. Have never had a scintilla of regret. Man cannot live on egg whites and protein shakes alone.

    You wouldn't? You're obviously a monster. [/sarcasm]

Nothing inherently bad about pizza. You can make good food choices with it, or bad ones. The same is true of a whole lot of other foods.

I'm from New Jersey. Domino's isn't real pizza. Local places or homemade is what I'm referring to.
most to go places have an insane amount of calories in them ...everyone once in a while is fine ..hell, I love pizza....but make it a once a week thing and me thinks you will be blowing out your calories and macros...

    complete bull.

    Hi from NJ as well!

I order my pizza with thin crust, low sauce, extra veggies and no cheese. It tastes awesome and I don't miss the sauce or the cheese. When I make it at home I have an oatmeal crust recipe that is great and I do the same with the toppings. The sodium is really the only thing that's high on either but I don't have any issues with blood pressure so I don't worry about it.

    10 squares of Ledo's vegetable pizza = 1000 calories

I can definitely fit 1000 calories into my day. I plan for it and eat a less caloric breakfast or lunch. I might work out harder on that day, but I look forward to having those 10 slices for dinner!

I don't want to cut any food totally out of my diet because, for me, that's not feasible for the long run.

I'm gonna take it a step further and launch a defense of pasta as well. Perfectly healthy for you. Barilla fettucine, a little marinara, some wine. There's some good nutrition in there.

My grandfather lived to be 98 years old eating pasta and drinking wine almost every day. Now we have the PC Paleo crowd telling everybody that carbs are the new evil.

I'm sure pizza is part of your weight loss diet  I'll leave it there LOL

I eat pizza now and again. Bread, meat, cheese, and veggies...(or protein, carbs, and fat)...pretty nice balanced meal! :)

I eat pizza too, but let me put it this way, I'm very aware pizza is not the best option for weight loss, body fat loss or muscle gain. Anyway, it has a lot to do with how much pizza you eat.

Ice cream > Frozen Yogurt > Pizza > Chicken > Vegatables > Dr. Oz > Cherry cough syrup

I can't really argue with that.

The vegetables are strongly offended by this.

Well technically NO food is a "bad" food. Foods are only unhealthy for you if you eat them in excess. WIh that being said, take away pizza just doesn't seem worth it to me because its so high in calories for so little of it. I like to make my own with fresh ingredients and no processed crap.

So, you're one of those full of himself *kitten*?

    Nice to know.

So now I'm a *kitten* for telling you pizza won't help with weight loss? Sure, if telling the truth makes me one, so be it.

No. You're a *kitten* for trying to single me out and make me feel bad in which you accomplished. My weight loss journey has been a very bumpy road, and I'm starting to learn that restricting certain foods out of my diet is what made me gain all of the weight back in the first place.

Look, It is your initial attitude and approach what makes not want to sugarcoat it. I'm not really trying to make you feel bad, but in order to achieve great results, sometimes you need to make sacrifices. I always love how people here support eating junk food, pizza, etc. Yes, they can eat whatever they want, but if you really want to achieve your weight loss goals, fast and healthy, use the internet, search for tips from the pros, those who compete, those who live dedicated to fitness 100% because it is their job, etc, because from them you will learn the most. Their bodies speak for themselves.

All I'm trying to say is, whether pizza is bad or not, is not the best food for you to be eating unless you don't mind slowing down your weight loss progress.

To change the topic a little, I doubt anyone will be able to fit Pizza Hut's new poutine pizza into the daily goals, Pizza with french fries and topped with cheese curd

Alexis - Whole Wheat Greek Pita Flat Bread (Crust) - 1 Whole
Tillamook - Three Cheese Italian Blend - 56g (2 servings)
Rustic Crust All Natural - Pizza Sauce, 3 oz
Spice Hunters Garlic Herb blend to taste

13 Minutes on a baking sheet @ 375, using parchment paper to prevent stick and mess. Cut 4 ways (8 slices).

420 Calories (42 Carb, 19 Fat, 22 Protein) that says I can have a great pizza experience without "weird" or fake ingredients.

Mom throws a bunch of sliced peppers on without touching the scales much... SO adds pepperoni from our groceries deli department, we get it shaved... 4 slides per crust, barely adds anything to the numbers, but preserves the "craving".

Of course pizza isn't a bad food, Congress declared it a vegetable. How could a vegetable be bad for you?

I've already been down the fast track. Did I get good, fast results? Of course. Didn't last though. I want a lifestyle change. Not some diet.
