Did you hear that Jim? We DO need a food scale. Thank you Andrew for the challenge and helping me win this one.

Andrew, I managed to get around 48 oz of water in a day. Did pretty well on the sweets. Now a food scale? Thanks !

Just to clarify on the picture. I am not drunk, high maybe. This was taken about 6 hours after my shoulder surgery. Let's just say I was feeling no pain. No pain at all!

Thank you so much for sharing your amazing story. Would you and your family be at all interested in being featured in one of my segments? It is very inspirational, and especially the fact that you two made the change together is so important! I would love for you two to be a part of Fit at Five. Let me know what number would be best to reach you at and we can set up a future shoot.

Not a happy day! Drank enough water for a fish this week, easily 120 oz per day, only ate sweets one day, thought I was eating sugar free fat free pudding that ds made last night but nope, it was the regular stuff. Exercised everyday but one and the lovely scale shows a pound and a half increase today. It had better be better tomorrow or I might throw it out the window. :grumble:

Love you guys, have a great evening!!!! :flowerforyou:

    Hey Amanda,

Look at the bright side my dear. I bet the pudding was delicious. And here is something I am trying to do that I recommend everyone try. The next time you get on the scale and don't like the number you see. Ask yourself this question-"Number sucks but...How do I feel?" I'll bet you the answer to that question will be better than I did before.

    :drinker:

Thanks Andrew, I appreciate it. I feel great, sleeping better at night, not having the mid afternoon sugar crash, my size 12 jeans are falling off and when I stretch I can atually feel musle in my skin. I know that this is working, Patience is not my friend. I was looking back at my weights and ten days ago I weighed 158.5, then for our weigh in I weighed at a low of 154.5, now it is 156. You know that is okay, it is still a loss from 10 days ago. Andrew, you have inspired me to go work-out again. THANKS and hugs!!!!!!!!

^^ dancing around happy and screaming WOOT! Amanda WOOT!!^^ (dh removed my smilies program :frown:)

I feel the same way. Hearing the stories, seeing the before and after pics, and reading that you guys are exercising really motivates me to do the same.

Congrats on the run and to many more.

Andrew and Beth- that is so cool! You are going to figure out a way for us to see it, right? We better get to see it! The station should be able to hook you up with a digital copy that can be viewed online..... if not, tell 'em to figure it out! Tell them the Black Team said so. We can't have our teammates on TV and not get to burst with pride watching it!

It's tuesday night. Time to start the new challenge! This challenge is intended to get the old folks back to basic and get the new folks on board with what will spell success here.

It's the patented Marla "Capture every morsel challenge"- This week you will all follow one rule. If it goes in your mouth it is weighted, measured and LOGGED. (If some of you dont have a food scale just do your best to keep it to the serving size.) If its something that can't be measured or logged then dont eat it. This is a very mathimatical process and guessing how many calories something has never works out. I know you guys can do it! Lets roll with week two.

    P.S.

I have gotten quite a few reported weigh in. Remember you guys have until tommorow evening to get them to me. If I don't have it come posting time then I will post the spreadsheet without them. 3 straight weeks without a reported weight in and I will remove your name from the list. I will always add it if you come back but for ease of tracking I am only going to be looking at the folks who are reporting weights.

Thanks guys. Off to get a run in!

    Talk to you later!

    :drinker:

You would think that after 15 mos of this lifestyle change I would have a food scale. Nope, not yet I dont:noway: I'd like to say that Im pretty good at eyeballing it...but I guess you never really know until you actually SEE how small a serving is...

The best I can do this week is promise to try to get a food scale...and for anything I can use measuring cups and spoons for, I will:smile:

Oh! Good morning Black Team:flowerforyou: Good luck to everyone with the weigh ins!!

Good Morning Black Team. Wicked was awesome last night but I might have gone a little overboard on dinner. I also twisted my ankle with my run yesterday morning. Iced it all day and then taped it up to go to the show. Feels much better now but I'm not going to run for a day or 2. Will try the stairmaister. off for my weigh in! later..

    Evening Black team,

Had a good night. Got a short run in to keep me loose. Focused on the strength training. My heart rate monitor is on the fritz. I changed the battery and It still keeps losing my heart rate.....ah well. I'll figure it out. Anyhoo. Gotta get to bed. Have to be up at 4am to make it to the pool to swim before work.

Have a good night my team!

    Good luck with weigh ins!

Maybe it's your heart that's on the fritz?

The scale was so nice this morning. I love it right now and those aren't words I say often. I will say there is this little nagging fear in the back of my head reminding me that next week will probably not be so kind. It's like the BL Week 2 Curse. BUT, for today, I'm going to enjoy.

I saw a number I've NEVER seen so far in this journey. Oooohhhh, yeeeaaahh!

Well to Andrew and Beth for getting on the radio.

Well it has again snowed here, so did the school run in the car - which was a little scary and the rear end kept stepping out ( and I drive a GMC Surburban, so guess it was more scary for the other drivers :ohwell: ). So will be walking to school this afternoon with Christopher (my 2 year old) in the buggy to collect 2 of his brothers (the 12 year old is coming home at 1.20pm :grumble: ) and 3 others. So I have just been on the bike before more children arrive and managed 31 minutes and 575 calories with Christopher's help!!!

Andrew - I have scales but they aren't brilliant so I will try my best with this weeks challenge (don't have spare money to buy scales with 2 birthdays either side of this week  )

Donna - sorry to hear that you hurt your ankle, and glad that you enjoyed wicked. I kept dropping hints to dh (rob) that I would like to see it but no luck yet :frown:

Morning to everyone else, got to run....... need a shower before extra children arrive :ohwell:

Good weigh in morning Black Team!!:drinker: Im off to do mine here in a few. Im kinda nervous, but regardless of what the scale says, I know I worked hard this week.

Terry--Keep drinking that water! I've had kidney stones a couple of times in the past and they are sooo painful!:frown: Thankfully I havent had to deal with them since I gave up all the soda I used to drink. But I do remember being told by the Drs to flush, flush, flush it out with water:drinker:

Shuntae and Leslie--Glad you ladies are feeling better!:flowerforyou:

    Melissa--Love the AV...to cute!!

Andrew--What is up with your HRM?? I would be sooo lost without mine. I have found that the HRM's on the gym equiptment are way off....sometimes by as much as 200 calories or more:noway: I have been using mine for a year this past christmas, any idea how long the batteries are supposed to last? I heard that you have to send them off to get the batteries replaced...do you know if thats true? I have a Polar F4...

Jeannie--I am having a moment of silence for your missing smilies:cry::wink:

Donna--Glad you enjoyed Wicked! I would love to see it. Take care of that ankle!:flowerforyou:

Well guys, my first born is officially 20 years old today:smooched: Not sure what hes going to want for dinner tonight...we always do whatever the birthday "person" wants for dinner on their birthday. Geez, I can remember when he always chose hot dogs, hot dogs, hot dogs:noway: So glad he grew out of that...except that his thing lately has been Buffalo Wild Wings! Yuck! We'll see what he has in store for us this evening:laugh:

    Off to weigh (fingers crossed)

    ~Roni
