Gave you one more. Question about the tofu though. Every variety of tofu I've tried has that strong metallic taste. It tastes like when you were a kid and put your tongue on a 9 volt battery. Is there a tofu that doesn't have that taste?

Humm, I have never encountered that particular taste. I really do not know if there is a particular brand that is better than the other. I eat a great deal of the Nasoya brand.

Please, if there is anyone that can answer her question, please do. I just typically get what my local market carries.

Your facebook page looked great! I just liked it. I will be going back to it for more ideas too. One of my doctors challanged me to eat vegetarian and dairy free. I have been doing it all summer and have used tofu a few times but don't have many recipes for using it. I usually just scramble it with some bbq sauce. Using it in lasagna sounds great. What other cool uses do you have for tofu?

You can actually use it in place of chicken in many asian type of dishes. If you do, use firm tofu, cut it up and then put a towel under and over and gently squeeze the water out of it. I like to dust it with corn starch and flash fry it to make it crunchy and use what ever sauce I want. I even will do that for hubby with some wing sauce. The most important thing about tofu, in my opinion, is to marinate it in what ever flavors you like. Such as ponzu sauce or even salad vinaigrette's (watch out for calories). Even some Walkers Wood Jerk sauce then grilling is wonderful or even marinating like you would chicken then grilling it. I will be doing a whole page on my website about the different things you can do with tofu, it really has a bad reputation for no reason other than people do not know how to cook it properly.

If you eat fish, you may want to check out my salmon/tofu croquette. I have several pictures of how to do it on my facebook page, if you can not figure it out, let me know, I will be happy to help you. They are very good and very healthy.

Thanks again for all your support guys. I am setting at 290 now, I would love to make it to 300 by the end of the day. :)

Not sure this is the thread for this but....
Im a teacher but for the past few summers Ive worked at a farm either picking, cleaning, selling, etc the produce. One day the owner came down to the barn where I was and asked me if I could quickly wash up the cucumbers, which I had no problem with. Well, have you ever cleaned a cucumber?!?! Maybe you have...how bout about 250 of them?!?! I felt so dirty afterwards I was embarrased to even look at people! Go ahead. Next time you buy cukes, go ahead and clean them off even if theyre not dirty and see how you feel! :)

here is a tantalizing shot I took of some hottttttttt tasty Mexican Lasagna a few months ago. Its so frustrating posting great recipes and no one wants to try them because they are trained from birth to be afraid of FATS!!

Check out my recipe for the produce wash on my page. It is also fun to watch the baking soda and vinegar bubble up. And giggle, I do get what you are talking about. :blushing:

OMG BEAUTIFUL! I love mexican lasagna but like regular lasagna, I do not eat it often. I am not on a diet to lose weight, I am living a healthy lifestyle low in saturated fats because of my genetically high cholesterol and do not want to take the statins. But I am of the belief that we should eat what we want with in moderation and get plenty of exercise if you eat a particularly high fat and calorie meal. We were on vacation in Asheville NC this week and before we left, decided to take a hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway into the mountains. Long story short, we ended up getting lost and our short hike before the car ride home turned into 9 miles and three and a half hours. Needless to say, after over a thousand calorie burn, I had pizza for dinner. :)

Hey, post your recipe if you do not mind. I will see what I can do about bringing down those fats a tad. This one looks way better than my typical layer tortilla shells with meat , cheese and salsa one. :)
