When I was two, instead of "Feliz Navidad," I heard-and sang- "release mommy dog."

    These are killing me!

Any geology geeks out there? Red Hot Chili Peppers "With the birds I share this lonely view" sounded like "the Burgess Shale is a lonely view".

I was impressed with their depth!
  • Pretty much any song by Def Leppard.. I could never understand a thing they were singing.. except... pour some sugar on me....

  LMAO!!! So true!!!

'I can't believe you kiss your [male chicken] at night'- That Don't Impress Me Much, Shania Twain

I always thought this line was, " I can't believe you kiss your carpet knife." I never thought is made sense but who was I to question it.

It's actually "I can't believe you kiss your car goodnight."

And then there's Abba's "Fernando." This is one of the many misheard lyrics entries on "Kiss This Guy":

It's been many years since I've seen a rifle in your head/can you fear the dung, Orlando?

Real Lyrics: Since many years I haven't seen a rifle in your hand Can you hear the drums Fernando?

Your knees are so raw in `I Need You Tonight' by INXS. I am SURE that's what they say! Though my husband says it's Your nerves are so raw. I wouldn't let my boys listen to it on the radio

Oh my gosh, me too!! My friends make fun of me for it.

When I was a kid, I thought the line from Nowhere Man was "isn't he a b!tch like you and me?" I was pretty old when I realized it's "bit".

A World of Our Own by the Seekers. I think I was 10 when that came out and I heard, "And I know you will find...there'll be peace of mind..." as "And I know you will find...there'll be pizza pie..."

Credence Clearwater Revival's Bad Moon Rising

You tell me what you think:

    "Don't go around tonight
well it's bound to take your life
there's a bathroom on the right (as opposed to: there's a bad moon on the rise)

Still...to this day..I laugh every time I hear that song!

    Song: "Holly and the Ivy"
RL: O the rising of the sun and the running of the deer
M: O the rising of the South and running of John Deeres

    Song: "Shock"- B2st
RL: Every night I shock (shock)
    M: Every night I shout (f***!)

    Song: "Jive Talking"- Bee Gees

    Are you kidding?
They were one of only a few bands that actually enunciated the words!! lol
I grew up with Def Leppard..so I guess I don't get the issue here.

(Sorry! This is in reference to the girl who said she couldn't understand Def Leppard's songs. I forgot to quote)

Roger Waters has a song called It's a Miracle. The lyrics contain:

    "She said meet me
In the Garden of Gethsemane my dear
The Lord said Peter I can see
    Your house from here."

But the way he sings it, it sounds like:

    She said meet me
I've got Salmon in my Deer...

Oasis have a song called Don't Look Back In Anger, and it says "So Sally can wait, she knows it's too late" and for years I thought it said "So Pelican Way, she knows it today"

It doesn't even make any sense and I couldn't believe it was wrong lol

You know that song, think it's by Flo Rida - Low? It says "Baggy sweat pants and them reeboks with a strap" my little nephew always got the words mixed up and sang "Sweaty bag pants" lol!

    "wrapped up like a douche"

    It's actually

    "wrapped up like a deuce"

I've had to clarify this one in the past as well!

I did this with Chris Cornell crooning, "Still don't mind the chains." It sounds a lot like "Sit on my bidet."

The BeeGees - How Deep is Your Love

I was singing ".... and you come to me on a submarine..." for years until someone pointed out it was "summer breeze". A bit more romantic!

Paralyzer by finger 11 - "your place or my place" I always hear "your place on my face"

bwahaha, thanks for finally clearing that up for me, I thought it was face as well
  • I have a few, mostly from when I was a kid and misunderstood them.

I thought Stayin' Alive was "stay in the lines," as in coloring with your crayons and doing a careful job!

I thought Heard it in a Love Song was "pretty little love song."

In the song I'd Really Love to See You Tonight, I misunderstood the part that says I'm not talking about movin' in. I thought it was "I'm not talking about the linen."

Another is Peace Train. I always thought they were saying "B string."

My husband's funny one was Dirty White Boy. He thought it was 30-watt boy!

i always though it was " im not talking about the linens" needless to say i was corrected but still sing it that way.
