TeeTee, I noticed you're wishing us a happy evening so I just wondered where your currently reside? I don't know why I assume everyone is in the United States but nice to know MFP has gathered us all together regardless of country, walks of life and where we are in our weight loss journey.0

Good afternoon my Workout Buddies! Dang we have such a big group now it took me a while to get caught up on all the posts. I love it!!
I've been MIA since Friday and am just now getting a chance to get caught up on my log and checking in. :grumble: I've had a few things going on over the weekend that kept me from working out. But I tried to eat as healthy as I could and stay within my calories. Sounds like bumps in the road and last minute change of plans happens to us all, so I can't beat myself up.
Choco- glad to hear you are feeling better and getting back to the tough workouts. Props to you for even attempting to do an easier video while you were sick. Oh and props on the jogging too!
Glad to hear some of you are now on the no smoking bandwagon. Today is officially 1 month for me not smoking and it feels so good! I haven't really craved them lately and haven't been tempted by other smokers, so that's good. I did have a moment of stress and I thought...it would be nice to just sit on my porch, smoke a cig, and relax for a minute, but I refrained! Woo hoo!
Good to hear some of ya'll are dropping the pounds too!! :flowerforyou: Today was my weigh-in day but I completely forgot this morning so I'll have to do it tomorrow. Hopefully I've dropped at least a pound but I'm not holding my breath.
So last night I was back on track, went down to the gym and did 40 minutes on the elliptical, burning about 350 calories. Oh and over the weekend we went and renewed our membership at the rec center which gives us access to two different gyms in our town. It will be a nice change of scenery from our crappy apt gym we've been going to. I'm looking forward to going and might actually try to go tonight. If not I'll do some cardio and abs for sure.
Gotta get ready for the best night of the year.....drum roll.....LOST is back! I have to devote my evening to the season premeire tonight, which trumps Biggest Loser unfortunately. Gotta get a workout in, a quick dinner, then I'm a couch potato the rest of the night. Can't wait!!
Have a good night ladies! I'll be better about checking in all week...I missed everyone!!! :brokenheart:0 -
Amk: glad you're back, your presence was definitely missed. You're right we all have bumps in the road we call life and we have to adjust the best way we know how. Congrats on being smoke free for a month. I'm sure the first month is the hardest and if you're not really craving then the odds are definitely stacked in your favor.
Have a great workout tonight and look forward to hearing from you on the thread tomorrow.
Btw, we are almost at our 500 post limit does anyone know how to start a new thread and post the link here, if so, please do so. I would hate for us to get locked out and not be able to find one another.
I'm not that tech savvy so I'm gonna leave that up to someone else.0 -
I was going to ask the same question....i dont know how to do that either!! Help someone!0

well i am currently working out about 30 minutes a day if more great for me but with a 2 yr old and 4mth old its kinda hard unless i workout at 10 00 at night but i bought hip hop abs about a yr ago and it worked i was down to 140 then ofcourse i got pregnant. so now i am at 150 i did buy the insanity work out tapes and did them for about a month but i didn;t see a change the only thing was my thighs got bigger and well that is not really my problem area/ so i am not back on my hip hop abs and just ordered zumba videos/ maybe when i get to my goal weight the insanity will work out/0

Good evening work out buddies! Hope everyone's day was full of healthy eating and physical activity! Just completed my workout and headed to bed! May your Wednesday be better than your Tuesday!0

Hello Workout buddies...
Choco, you always seem to workout even though you're tired and sick. I totally admire your dedication.
I ran for 2 miles, weight lifted for about 45 and I'm on track with the diet. I'll try to squeeze a little walk tonight for an extra boost. Happy Ground hog Day, you in America. I'm, actually living on Jeju Island, South Korea. I finish my contract in a month and will be back to the US in March. I can't wait for a skinny latte (they only have whole milk here.)0 -
Choco, I am overseas in Bahrain until Oct of this year then I will be back in the states. I really miss home and I am jealous how everyone is complaining about the snow and I have not seen anyhere. Hopefully by now you are well, but I definitely agree with Carey how you continue to workout and push yourself.
Yesterday I posted how bad I was dragging and did not make it to the gym neither in the morning or the afternoon. Well, today I made up for it and ran 3.2 miles and worked my legs. I feel so much better while I am at work right now! Just so energized.
I think when you get to the 500 limit, the 501 post will just create a new one and you will see the tab the says the post ends here and starts here. (Something like that). But I don't think anyone is actually required to start a whole new post. We will see what will happen in the next 11 post! :laugh:0 -
Teetee and CareyT thank for the admiration regarding my daily workouts but I must confess the main reason I workout everyday is become I'm participating in a 2010 challenge on another thread where we earn a point for each week that we work out everyday. I never realized how competitive I was until this challenge b/c everytime I think I'm not going to workout today b/c I'm tired or not feeling well I think of this challenge and earning the point and it motivates me to do something regardless of the intensity. While I'm sure I won't workout everyday for the entire year I figure I could at least start out on the right path.
Well I'm about to complete todays workout so I'll check back in when it's done.
Teetee and Carey stay safe oversees and i'm sure your friends and family can't wait til you arrive in the U.S.0 -
Morning all! happy humpity day! Bootcamp = done for today. we do weights on Wednesdays so i am already feeling somewhat sore...lol I took a peek on the scale this a.m. and it says I am down ANOTHER pound since Monday! woo hoo! I will not log it though until my "official weigh in" on Monday. I know it may be flucuations in water and stuff that caused the scale to show that and that is why I am waiting to log it. I am just excited that the scale is starting to move in the right direction again! We are nearing our 500 post limit, so I posted a topic to find out how to continue the thread...so as soon as I find out how to do it, I will continue it!
Everyone have a fabulous day!

Morning workout buddies!!!! Thank God Monday is over! I dont know about ya'll but my day was awful! I didnt get home til aft er 8 pm and did not get to get my xtra cardio in as I always do on Mondays. I was really upset about it because I am not going to be able to workout today due to having a monthly meeting after work that lasts until around 9 pm. I then have to get up at 415 on Wednesday to make it to bootcamp. So I am cutting a few cals today to try and make up for the missed workout today. I just hate taking another day off so soon in the week ( Sunday is usually my off day) but oh well I will make up for it!
Set-dont ever doubt yourself. If you want 135 then shoot for 135! you can do it! congrats on no smoking...we can go through the struggle together as I am quitting tommorrow. I know what you mean about smoking at work, I have a high stress job and sometimes its the only thing that keeps me sane...lol I know it will be hard but I am determined this time. I am a runner and a healthy person in all other aspects of my life, and its time to change....plus smoking just isnt cool anymore...
Good luck to you and I will be here for support on both your weight loss and no smoking journey. BTW- where r u from???
Today is your first day of being smoke free! I know you can do it! The best of luck to you! I worked my first full 12 hour shift monday night without a cigarette. For me, being a nurse and getting the chance to get off the floor and out of the hospital a couple times in a 12 hour shift keeps me sane. So Monday night I ended up following my same routine minus the cigarette and went downstairs to the furthest drink machine (for a water) and came back.
As for my weight loss, I just know at my fittest in H.S. I probably weighed about 135. I am just trying to be realistic. I def think getting into the lower 140s is attainable. But I would love to kick some butt and get down to 135! Yesterday was a good workout day for me. I did 40 minutes on the treadmill and about 45 minutes with my trainer working on the reformer and doing some legs (and i'm really freaking sore today & I'm supposed to meet my trainer at 10). As for my eating yesterday I was under my calories but since I slept most of the day, I mostly just snacked when I woke up. But they were healthy snacks...I just wasn't in the mood to cook.
Oh and I live in Mobile, AL. Tonight should be intersting. Me and the hubs and some friends will be driving over to Biloxi this evening to the Hard Rock Casino to go eat and do a little gambling. My plan is to eat a large salad to start off with and then some crab legs! Oh I'm hungry just thinking about it! Hopefully I can stay away from the dessert buffet (did I mention I'm a chocoholic!)
Sorry to be so lengthy happy hump day ladies! Get out there and kick some butt and burn those calories!0 -
Morning Set, I am jealous that you live so close to the beach....I live in North ga so the beach is close enough to drive but i would love to be able to just go and be there in less than an hour. I also looovveee fresh seafood so just thinking about crab legs makes me drool a little...lol:) thanks for the encouragement, it was hard not to have my morning cig with my coffee but I know I can do it!
BTW all, once we hit 500 MFP will automatically make a part 2 to our thread. It will be located in the "Introduce yourself" section of the Forums. I think there are only like seven posts left until we hit the mark so just look for the new thread in that section! Im so afraid we will get lost from each other!0 -
Morning all, I'm so discouraged today. I weighed myself yesterday and I gained 2 lbs. Really!!! I mean we were snowed in on Saturday and I did eat more than usual. I didn't totally pig out but I did eat some cookies. I have noticed that my butt is higher up and my arms are smaller as my coat fits a lot better, but the scale says I gained 2lbs. I guess I'm not too discouraged though. It did motivate me to wake up and walk 2 miles this morning and I'm going to Zumba tonight. Just wanted to vent.0

Good morning ladies, today's workout is complete. I did 59 minutes of P90X's "Arms and Shoulders" dvd and it was not nearly as bad as I expected. I'm stronger than I thought (I guess Jillian Michael's dvd and boot camp got me in pretty good shape) b/c the 8 lb weights I was using didn't seem heavy enough on a good portion of the exercises which means I'm going to have to purchase the 10 lbs very soon (hopefully over the weekend). Nonetheless, I think it was a good introduction and now that I have a better idea of what to expect I'll be better prepared.
Vrdz, today is the day you become a non smoker....HIP HIP HOORAY, HIP HIP HOORAY. Good luck on this journey and know you have the support of your workout buddies to get you through those difficult times.
Have a great day all!0 -
VRDZ, that is what I thought also, then it will just post it saying part 2.
Biggieshorty, I think this is a great place to vent! So, let it all out, but don't be mad about what the scale says, because you feel the difference in your clothes, so you know you are doing something right! Besides, I call the scaled I use the Lying Device, no matter what it tells me, that's the name I call it.
I was able to get 2 GREAT workouts in today, both morning and evening. I finally realize the difference it makes it in my day to go to the gym or not. And then this evening was crazy, I was sweating so much. Does drinking enough water really make that much a difference? All day long I only drink water, but it is very hard for me to get a whole 64ozs. For the last 2 days, I've been doing pretty well.
Carey, I'm jealous, you going back stateside in March, that's really less than a month away! I'm stuck overseas until Oct, but hopefully time will continue to fly!0 -
Gooooooooood Morning Workout Buddies! Hope everyone's off to a fantastic start (or finish for those oversears)! Make today count!0
-
Good afternoon ladies! Sounds like everyone is doing great today with workouts! We ROCK!!
Good luck ladies on the not smoking! I know we can do it!!
Checking in for yesterday...
I ate well yesterday and only indulged in a 1/4 cup of raisinette's after dinner. It was my treat for it being Lost night. Silly I know! I got a little stressed/pissed yesterday afternoon and rather then let it ruin my workout, I used it to give me more energy and fuel for my workout after work. I went down to the gym, even though my fiance' bailed on me, and did 45 minutes on the treadmill. I did a 5 min warm up and jogged the entire time, only stopping to walk for 1 min every once in a while. It felt good! Since the gym was empty, I didn't feel dumb, and decided to try and sprint for a minute like they go on Biggest Loser. I did it and didn't die! Woo hoo!! Then I did abs afterward.
I'm eating well today and plan to go to the new gym tonight for the first time. Hope it's not super crowded. :grumble: Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their afternoon. We're getting rain today and tomorrow so it's going to be gloomy. Boo!
Keep up the good work! :flowerforyou:0 -
I forgot to mention that today I weighed in and lost another pound!! WOO HOO!! I have officially lost the weight back that I gained over the holidays and the long extended break I took....finally!!!
Something is up with my ticker though....I thought the last time I updated my weight it wasn't right and confirmed today that it is messed up?? I put my new weight in, one pound less, and my ticker went from "2 lbs lost" to "5 lbs lost". Stupid thing....it was discouraging me!! So confusing!
Anyway.....back to down to where I was in November and a pound gone is all that matters!!! :drinker:0 -
Amk, congrats on the 1 lb loss AND continuing w/your workout despite DF bailing on you. Glad to know you're back on track after a brief derailment from the holidays.
Since my P90X workout this morning didn't consist of any cardio I'm going to walk around the park for a little bit since it's a nice day in GA. While I will add some pep to my step I doubt seriously I'll try to jog. I really just want some fresh air so I figure why not burn a few extra calories in the process.
Will check in later.0
