You will not get big bulky muscles. It is not in your DNA . You are a woman, what you will find will be tight curves! Plus muscle burns more calories at rest than fat does. To get big bulky, you would need to take testosterone and/or steroids. So work out and enjoy!!

How many calories do you think Tae-Bo can burn? It's pretty intense, 800ish?

At least 2,000. It burns, like, 20 calories a minute.

Oh, WOW! That's fantastic! I only get like 10-12/minute running. I've been waisting my time!

Seriously people, can we stay on topic?

I considered using Tae-Bo to tone, but then the Shakeweight came out and I heard that it's at least 50% more effective for toning. Has anyone else heard this?

How many calories can I burn shake-weighting? I need an accurate count.

It depends if you are using your own shake weight or a friends.
It always burns more to use a friends because you build up a muscle memory when using your own too frequently.

Running = Complete waste of time. Soooo outdated. Been around for centuries. You must stay current to lose weight. The Shakeweight is an excellent tool.

Fact: any piece of fitness equipment that makes you look like you are in a porno is more effective for toning!!!

Fact: Any exercise looks like porn if you watch from the right angle.

True story - you should have seen my pull throughs at the weekend.....

Gotta love the trolls. Yes you can lose weight with Tae-Bo, it will burn a significant amount of calories. If you really want to tone, you need to add in strength exercises. Do not worry, you will not get bulky. It's extremely hard for a woman to get bulky by strength training and lifting weights.

If you're a woman, lifting heavy won't make you big, but very long and lean. You don't have the testosterone like men do in order to get 'big". If you get bulky it's b/c there is FAT not being lost yet as you build muscle. It take a while to balance out. Lift heavy. And yes, tae bo will help you lose weight if you lift weights 3 days a week in combination.

Tae-Bo is going to make you too bulky and men don't like women with muscles. I suggest you stick to Bikram or Pilates or something like that, sweetie.

    That sounded condescending. :grumble:

You won't turn into a man from doing tae-bo lol !!!!!

I have done Muay Thai (kickboxing) for years and i am far from looking like a man.
I also do weights and all the other "manly" things and i have never developed a hairy chest haha
The only reason you would be developing these is from some form of hormonal imbalance!!

Edit: This post made me giggle hahaha

You will not get a manly body from lifting heavy.

But yes you can lose weight with Tae-Bo. You can lose weight with any workout program as long as you have a calorie deficit.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong about this. I've seen pictures of women after TaeBo and it was just.....let's just say I'd rather not sleep next to a female version of Billy Blanks.

And she won't lose weight unless she removes glutens from her diet. And ice cream. No one loses weight if they eat glutens and ice cream.

Pleeeeeeease tell me you are joking about this! Billy Blanks is huge from LIFTING. He doesn't *just* do Tae Bo. Tae Bo alone will make no one bulky!!

I did Tae-Bo for at least a year and lost quite a bit of weight. And, no, I never looked anything like Billy Blanks. I would love to look like the girls on the video though, they were very lean and toned.

TaeBo will help me lose weight *IF* I use it in conjunction with lifting heavy? Now I suppose you'll say that I also have to eat at a deficit. So it the TaeBo working or not? If i have to lift and diet why am I doing the Taebo at all?

Isn't that like Matt Forte scoring 21 points and me saying "Me and Forte combined for 21 points....".

Isn't that like Kobe Bryant scoring 45 points and me saying "Me and Kobe combined for 45 points...."

It's almost as bad as referencing basketball when you know everyone rather watch football.
