  • thoughts on Bare Minerals? I need to catch up read this thread, it's been a bit. Tossing this out there to see what others feel about it? I keep hearing good things, but do you agree on the results, the prices, how easy it is to find locally etc. Or is it an online online product.

    Thanks, much appreciated!
I really need a good under eye concealer! Pale skin plus dark circles = not a good combination! x
I would love to hear ideas on one as well.. any favorites? :)

Found all other face products (Chanel, Mac) gave me break-outs! I now use BareMinerals and really like it. If you like thick feeling foundation then it takes some getting used to, but it is really good for the skin and looks natural :)

I only use BareMinerals on my face nowadays, great for the skin. Eyes- Urban Decay for dramatic eyes, MAC for classy/daytime. The only make-up product I'm not obsessed with are lipsticks! Sometimes I put some on, if I can find one in my make-up bag, often go without :) May try the Naked range, lots of you seem to love it :)

What lipstick is it that you have on in your pic? Love the colour!
  • Love every brand... With an exception of BH cosmetics and Bobbi Brown.

ETA...Also don't care for catalog cosmetics like Avon and Mary Kay.

I don't like mary kary either plus its expensive. i've tried the mark collection from avon but i dont like it either, i only tried it because lauren conrad was a spokesperson for it lol

I try and make sure that all products that I purchase are animal friendly , ie no animal testing. This was how I found UD and I absolutely LOVE it! The primers are incredible and make a world of difference. You can't go wrong with UD!

My ends will be blonde soon, was thinking of buying some to perdy up my hair every now and then

Sally's has hair chalk that is intended for your hair and it is great! I have black hair and I got the purple and you can see the color

Thanks to this thread, I just went online and ordered Naked2 and Smashbox photo finsh primer from Sephora. My name is Patti, and I'm a makeup junkie.

    All together now-

    "Hi Patti!"

Hilarious...and looking these items up now...
  • i think i'm the only one of my friends that is not obsessed with makeup. i don't wear any concealer or foundation or anything, and usually go easy on the eyes. Typically i buy the cheapo NYC stuff. Sometimes I'll splurge on a good mascara though.

Love the original Naked Pallet by Urban Decay! Smashbox photo finish primer. Drugstore lipstick - Revlon Lip Butters are amazing!

My absolute favourite product is Skin79's BB cream. I looooooove it! I wear that with Make Up Forever HD powder daily.

I love getting all different kinds of lip glosses (favourites are Stila, Lancome & Rimmell).
  • Absolutely love all of Arbonne's cosmetics. Very natural, light as air, amazing coverage. Plus they're certified vegan, have the PETA stamp of approval, organic and have no artificial fragrances, dyes or cheap fillers like mineral oil. And they last a very long time!!!

Yes - Arbonne's concealer is AMAZING! Comes in light, med and dark...always get a color that's a little darker than your skin tone. I use the medium. Covers dark circles and blemishes. Vegan, organic and lasts a long time. No artificial fillers, chemicals, dyes or fragrances!!!

So many great ideas on here!

Main obsession is MAC, for sure. Mostly eyeshadows. Love me some Smashbox Photo Finish primer, NARS bronzer, and DIORSHOW mascara. Also Stila waterproof liquid eyeliner.

I've contemplated trying some UD eyeshadpws, but I don't know that I can cheat on MAC like that.....

Oh, forgot about Birchbox. Love me some trial products every month for $10!!!!

My new favorite make-up secret is using monistat chafing gel as a foundation primer. Its the EXACT same thing as smashbox's photo finish primer for like five dollars!!! Seriously! Once upon a time when I wasn't poor I bought smashbox's and loved it and so I knew what to look for when I bought the monistat stuff. Its amazing and I wish I knew about it years ago!!

I don't wear much makeup, but you wouldn't know that from how much I have! This isn't makeup, but I've had great results using Clinique's Dark Spot Corrector. After Christmas I bought a Nars lip gloss in Rouge Tribal, very pretty! Bare Escentuals has come out with a compact mineral makeup that I really like. I think it's easier to apply and the coverage is great. A little goes a long way!
  • I also have and love UD's Naked pallet. I also have this pallet from Beauty Gems that has 98 eye shadows and they are surprisingly good quality!!

I use Urban Decay Primer Potion for my eyelids and then Cover Girl Exact Eyelights for my mascara.

I love my Mary Kay! Yes, I am a consultant, but I became one because when I tried it, it made my face feel great! I do like the makeup, but I wish there were more eye colors. The mascara is awesome too! I actually don't wear a ton of makeup, but like the idea of having the time to do it! lol oh well, that's what happens sometimes!

I am still trying to decide which make-up I really like. I have been experimenting with various brands and probably haven't found all favorites yet due to the fact that I haven't dabbled much in the more expensive, probably higher quality products.

So far, I know that I enjoy Maybelline's Ultra Liner Waterproof Liquid Liner in black. It is perfect for the daily wing/cat eye look that I do with my eyeliner.

Other than that, I also enjoy my covergirl blush. It adds the perfect rosy color to my cheeks when needed :).

Foundation/coverup is a whole different story. My primary issue is finding something that doesn't go on cakey, oily, or too powdery. I like something that looks seamless and natural but not matte. I prefer to maintain a natural complexion as much as possible. I have used some really great foundations that provide a matte look, but that's not what I typically go for. If anyone has any suggestions for foundations that provide a really natural not greasy/cakey look--please, suggest them! :) It would be appreciated.

Try Bare Minerals, either the original or the new compact style. Really worth the cash!

Also, MAC studio finish concealer. AMAZING!

Since you like drug store quality make up ( Im assuming for the price ) you should check out Revlon Naked Foundation. A lot of people are comparing it to Urban Decay Nearly Naked for a fraction of the cost.
  • Has anyone ever tried Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar? I've been hearing a lot about OCC lately, especially the lip tars, and I think I might want to try it, and if anyone here has tried it, I'd love to hear your thoughts before I shell out a whole $16 :)

Also -- I need to buy some new brushes BADLY. But there are so many to choose from and I don't want to end up spending a bunch of money and not loving what I get, so! What are your favourite brushes?
