The belly isn't totally gone, but it's not hanging over like it used to!

OMG thank you for posting this pics! I am quite a bit older than you so hopefully will have similiar results. My overhang is the thing I hate the most about myself and thought even if I lost weight it wouldn't go away. Thank you for the added motivation!

See ticker below. This was me three months after I had my fourth son, 255lbs size 18. I am now 166lbs size 6. I'm 5'8. My stretch marks are still there, not as big but there. If I'm in plank position my stomach hangs down, as I have tons of extra skin. I gained 90+ lbs with all four of my son's, 110 with my last one. I have lost the weight each time, but every time it's taken longer to lose. It's taken me two years this last time. I had my tubes tied so no more going through this process.

It's weird cause the last thread doesn't link to this one but here is what I posted on the last page:
I don't really have a desire to have a super flat tummy like some of the ladies here but to get my pre-preg body back. I have two children, with each pregnancy I gained 60+ lbs. Here are my results in under two months.. I went from a large size pants to a small (same brand/make) and I reduced my BF% from 31 to 25% (WOOO "Healthy Range")

    Before pregnancy:

    During pregnancy (23w):

I'm actually way smaller now than I was before

I love your pregnancy picture! It is so beautiful!!

I have no idea if I replied to the original but skimmed it quick and couldn't find me. This was 10 months after the birth of my 3rd child (it was MUCH worse). I had already lost 20lbs. 3 kids, 2 years apart each, No C-sections.

Skin is tightening up some, and the stretch marks are beginning to fade. I starting dieting when my son was 13 months old.
He is almost 16 months old now : )

    Amazing!

I actually bumped up this thread about a week ago or so because I found everyone's stories and pics very inspiring!! And then I took my current pic and compared it to last year and I was shocked by the results!!

I've given birth via c-section to 2 sets of twins, ages 6 and 8. I still have a VERY long way to go until my body is exactly the way I want it but I'm proud of how far I've come in the last year!

Strength training, in addition to cardio, is key (in my opinion!!)

Bumping! Great thread!! 2 c sections (one 3 yrs ago & one 6 months ago). Never lost the belly flap after the first even when back to prepregnancy weight (which was still about 30lbs overweight)...it did shrink alot though. This time I started Insanity as soon as I was allowed to workout...now I'm 10lbs below prepregnancy, great tone in arms/legs/buttocks, but the belly is still there. Such a difficult journey. Congrats to all of your successes thus far!!!

    hi
i've done a special before and after profile pic as I still don't have photobucket account etc. If you click on my profile you should be able to see the changes. The pic on the left was taken about 2 years ago ( nearly 2 months after having my little lad). The second was taken this month (he is now 2 and 2 months). I had a c- section and initially quite a bad overhang. Now it has pretty much gone back to what I was like before having him though I am still hoping to lose more fat so I can get some ab definition. Hope that helps make someone feel better. I was convinced I would always have the overhang but with a bit of work it seems to have gone.

I am almost 40 years old and just had my first baby 9 months ago. I had a c-section after 24 hours of mostly un-medicated labor. I was so disappointed when my body did not shrink all the way back to my pre-pregnancy weight after the magical 6 weeks had passed. None of my clothes fit. I stayed in my maternity clothes. I had the weird belly flap pooch thing and still felt like I was 5 months pregnant. In addition to all that I developed chronic plantar fasciitis (tendonitis) in BOTH feet making it painful to walk and extremely painful dequervins tendonitis (mommy thumb) in my left wrist. I felt like I would never recover from my pregnancy.

About 7 months post partum my friend let me borrow her Insanity DVD's. I had no idea they would really change my life. I only lost 10 pounds since I'm still nursing but this program did so much more for me than you can see in these pics. For the first time in my entire life I was able to finally run non-stop for 3.11 miles (5K) after doing the Insanity program. Not only could I run an entire 5k, but I was able to do it pushing a 25 pound stroller with a 16 pound baby in it. I'm telling you that 3 months ago I would have NEVER believed this was possible. I've never been able to jog for more than probably 5 minutes tops without being completely winded. Screw the C25K programs, Insanity will get you there faster.

The other thing that this program did was finally make me genuinely more interested in fitness. I've always really hated exercising/gyms/running/dieting/etc. I've read stories about people who "look forward to exercising" and have always been envious of them. I've never looked forward to exercising a day in my life. After doing this program I feel empowered for the very first time. I'm ready for the next step in my fitness journey - even excited about what lies ahead. I'm thinking about buying a Fitbit and buying either the ChaLean Extreme videos or TurboFire (maybe both and do them back to back). I'm hoping to lose about 16 more pounds and completely kill the pooch - forever!
