A Fiberone bar. That's it. Well, and coffee.

Trying to figure out how to do better when trying to get a 16 month old off to daycare, my wife leaves for work well before I do, and I have enough trouble getting to work on time as it is!!

Could you make up a batch of smoothies (yogurt, low-fat milk, or soy or almond milk + fresh/frozen fruit) the night before and leave it in a pitcher in the fridge? Should be easy to calculate and use up quickly if you only make 2-3 servings at a time.

I had a bowl of cherries for b-fast this morning, they were awesome!
  • Is Trader Joe's a brand, or a store? It seems to be popular on this site.

ZebraHead, that apple/peanut butter sounds delicious! Going to try it soon

    I'll try that.

Today I actually had a Chobani 0% greek yogurt with some rice krispies in it for crunch - not the best cereal around (but not bad), but it's what I had on hand.

    And I feel full...

It's a store that also has their own brand. They carry mostly their own brand of stuff but there are other brands also.

    Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

1 banana, 1 low fat bio yogurt, 200ml semi skimmed milk, 2 tablespoons peanut butter

    507kcal
    53g carbs
    25g fat
    18g protein

It was my first time making this and as i logged it after I drank it I found out too late about just how many calories are in peanut butter - I thought this amount would be fine. Oops! I cut back on my lunch though to compensate and I'll only use 1 tablespoon tomorrow!

Hey I LOVE these and I make them whenever I crave something sweet and chocolate I use about one tblsp of PB but when I feel like I really want sweet I might use two, but keep in mind, it may be a lot of cal, but they are good cal bc of the PB, it contains good fats. So it is better to eat that than something else, I make mine with frozen banana, PB, honey,a dash of splenda, milk...yum!!

I made up a recipe for healthy whole wheat banana muffins ( I just posted the recipe). I had one of the muffins with a cup of coffee with milk. I feel very satisfied. Usually I have oatmeal and applesauce or a brown rice cake with 1 TB. Adams natural peanut butter and a piece of fruit. Occasionally I have a scrambled egg with two eggs whites and turkey bacon for breakfast.

Here is the recipe I made up today:

    HEALTHY WHOLE WHEAT BANANA MUFFINS

    Makes 10 muffins
King Arthur Flour - Traditional Whole Wheat Flour, 1 cup
Quaker Oats - Oatmeal, Old Fashioned Quaker Oats , 1/2 cup (40g)
    ¼ tsp Salt
    ½ tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Baking Powder, 1 tsp
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon, 1 tsp
    ¼ melted Butter
    1 Large Egg
    ½ Cup Honey
    ¼ Cup light Sour Cream
2 very ripe medium size Bananas

Directions: Preheat oven to 350. Spray 10 muffin tin cups with non stick cooking spray or use muffin liners.

Melt ¼ cup unsalted butter and set aside.

Combine the WW flour, oats, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon in a bowl and mix together with a whisk.

Mash the bananas in a small bowl and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl mix the egg and honey until well blended with a whisk. Slowly stir in the melted butter until well blended then add the sour cream.

Alternate adding the flour mixture and mashed bananas into the above. Stir until moistened.

Fill muffin tins a little over ½ full and put water in the two remaining empty tins. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until firm when pressed. Serve warm.

It's a store that has their own brand and they generally have healthier versions of the prepackaged junk as well as organic/whole foods that may be hard to find in a regular grocery store.
