I don't post often, but I can actually share that I am proud of myself today for two reasons.
The first is on Saturday my family and I were going on a road trip. My husband said we will stop at Burger King on the way for lunch. Instead I packed my lunch !!!
Second, today is a co-worker's birthday and the people in my department were taking him to lunch..at Red Robin..For those of you who are not familiar, think massive burgers with tons of toppings, never ending steak fries and never ending floats....I declined the invitation and went to spinning class instead.
You are my shero! Reading this just made me smile with JOY...you ROCK, period. :drinker: :drinker:0 -
Swam a lengths and just grinded out some back stroke lengths. My freestyle and breaststroke is okay but the back stroke is harder for me as I haven't practiced it in ages.

I am totally thrilled to step on the scale and see it daily going down, little by little and not just inch loss...I LOVE how my clothes (jean and pants) are beginning to swim on me too! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

I am so proud I mowed/manicured my front, sides and backyards to the maximum (for over an hour)--my lawns are looking too fabulous and I mowed them to perfection in an X pattern, with a box border around them and talk about making my fat cry--sweating and feeling like a hard working winner....WOW! Then, after a short break I went for a ride on my bike for 30 minutes or so afterwards...I feel like a super shero--I'm not tuckered out in the least and I'm getting stronger and stronger everyday. Later on this evening, after din-din, I'll take a long stroll for 45 minutes to an hour or so.
I'm Super happy about that--I'm proud that this flab & fat on my body days are sooooo numbered--WOOT!0 -
well i fell off the rails and gained my weight back, and today was hard for me because i walked into the gym in my town, and one where the people know me i was terrified of what people would think about me and what they thought when they seen me in the gym. but i made myself walk through the door and gave it my all, i didn't exactly make it all the way through the routine we were working out before my body started to reject the amount of work going in and made me physically sick but i still did an hours work out and am feeling the muscles for it lol but i am just so proud that i got my self into that gym and i did what i wanted to do in there i worked out.0

I just had my end-of-semester post assessment for the fitness program I participate in at work and managed to do...
27 REAL pushups! No girly, on your knees, crap here. Full pushups. I went from being able to do 9 in February to 27 today!0 -
Even though I wasn't fully feeling the run I had planned to do today, I did it and I'm glad I did.0

Great job in speaking up for what you need...as a mom it is hard to keep that boundary...we usually take care of everyone else and do everything others wants vs. allowing our needs to be taken care of! Congrats!0

I haven't had a soft drink in about a month.
Thats a big deal, I've been drinking them like crazy for pretty much my entire life.
When people offer me some, I say no.
And when I'm out eating with friends I only take water now.

I'm super proud of my self right now. I have prepared a huge salad, veggies and baked potato for me and that and other things for the family to eat ( I'm on a 21 days Fast, where I'm only eating fruit, veggies, grains, nuts, seeds and abstaining from processed foods, meats, dairy, fried stuff and other things--just for 21 days). My hubby came home and suggested we go out to one of our favorite junk food places to eat dinner. He said we can eat the healthy stuff tomorrow. I told him no, I want to stay on this. Then he said come-on, you know you want this (he and the children are all slim and trim...I'm the only fat one in the house::blushing: :indifferent:
So, I said, okay.....
Then I looked at myself in the mirror, put my new bigger sized jeans on and they getting to big already in the waist. I said--No, I'm going to stick this out and you guys can go on ahead. This is a HUGE triumph and resisting temptation for me. It's not like 3 weeks is forever and I want to be ready spiritually, mentally and a bit more slimmer by springtime!
Then they all said, we'll pass too and what a great dinner it was. I'm doing this fast mainly for spiritual reasons, but also for my health and I'm thrilled and proud of myself!
What are you proud of today?!?
This is so amazing! I am LOVING reading this! You've done me a service by sharing this story because you've motivated me to just say no.
Today, I rearranged my entire bedroom, and I have spent the last three hours cleaning it, dusting it, organizing all my junk and hanging my clothes. I even gutted out my closet and downsized and streamlined.
Not only am I happy that it was certainly a good workout, but I am happy because I feel like right now this is one of the few things I can control in my life right now. I've just lost my job (laid off), looking for another, and I've fallen behind in my college classes because of the stress of job hunting. Life is crazy right now but my home is my control and I feel so much better with it clean and rearranged.0 -
I ran my first 5k today and blew my goal time of 35 minutes out of the water! Ran it in 31:12 which was a 10:02 mile pace and totally shocked myself!0
-
I parked far away from the Trader Joe's because the traffic in that particular area is nuts, and walked farther to get there It's beautiful outside and I was happy to stare at myself in the shop windows as well0
-
i went for a walk ... then after lunch went for another - i was tired and could have easily convinced myself not to bother - but i am proud i did it0
-
Making a delicious hot chocolate, taking one sip and chucking it all back down the sink. Feeling bad for Africa though so it's mixed feelings.0
-
12 mile bike ride.... felt great! I couldn't have done that last summer!0
