I had a girl tell me I was sweet last night.
I had sex with her shortly after that.

It doesn't mean anything except that I appreciate the other person's support/encouragement/kindness. I say it to friends. I say it to my husband.0

"You're not getting any"0

When i say it to a guy - its my way of saying Thank you -
That is such a kind and considerate thing of you to say or do -
I mean it to be a compliment -
I appreciate it/ them so much -
it is a good thing - sweet is awesome and amazing - just like real sweets are0 -
So I asked Hubs what it means if you get that when you are single--
"Not gettin' any...move on"
So I asked Hubs what it means if I say "You are so sweet" now --
He laughed-- "you never say that, besides it is too feminine for me"
So I asked Hubs what I say to mean that I appreciate what he does for me--
"You are so nice which is fine"
Luckily we were speaking the same language.0 -

Did you see what she was wearing? She was asking for it.0 -
I always asked myself what's the real meaning of "your so sweet"
Can anybody shed some light please
It means she won't have sex with you. Ever.
basically all that matters0 -
i wish women wouldn't use code words/phrases
I wish people wouldn't assume that the entire gender does the exact same things.
Please tell me where this comes from. Enlighten us on how your generalizations toward a specific gender hold true.
It's s**t like this that just makes the stereotypes persist. :grumble:

Never ever.
Not true! I tell my boyfriend he is sweet all of the time and I even said that before we were dating and I was definitely interested. I guess it depends on the context of the situation. For instance, if you're complimenting her and the only thing she EVER says back is "you're so sweet" then it's likely she is not interested in you because there is no reciprocation. But if you're giving her more of a one-sided compliment - like you told her she did a great job on an exam or had a great run... etc - then it is perfectly acceptable for her to say you're sweet. She genuinely thought it was a nice compliment. That's my logic.. none of us can say with certainty though, everyone is different.0 -
When I tell my boyfriend "You're so sweet," I say it because he has said or done something incredibly sweet.
I have told men that before for the same reason, but also in the hopes of friend-zoning them. It's the nice way of doing it.0 -
Depends. Maybe you're sweet. Or maybe she is saying that because she's not interested in you romantically and wants to politely let you know that you're a friend and not someone she wants to date.
I can't remember ever telling a guy I was interested in that he was "so sweet"- only the ones I knew liked me, that I didn't want to be romantically involved with. If I liked a guy, I'd find other, more direct ways of complimenting him. Heck, even now, I don't ever call my husband "sweet". Kids and little old ladies, maybe, but not him. If he does something nice for me, I just thank him and give him a smooch.0 -
I think it really depends on the lady. I may tell a guy that when he did something for me or said something nice. It really depends on the on context too. Did she say "you're so sweet, but....?" If so, she's trying to let you down easy.0

You're so sweet.... Probably means your a nice guy ... But i agree with Lenora....depends on girl saying it0

When I tell someone "you're so sweet", I am generally saying, You are a sweet person. It is meant as a complimentary comment. In my case it is not a blow off. Being sweet is a good thing. I think.

I say it when I can't think of any other way to respond to a compliment. Still rather new at learning to accept them. So it doesn't automatically mean friend zone.0

For me it could either be a response to a compliment or I am trying to let them down easy.0
