SANDY, good luck at Bingo. I've never won at anything but love! (Thank you for the compliment! :blushing: )
I've one nice thing to share, and it happened at my Fitness Class. As I was pumping away at an arm lift, I glanced down and Lo and Behold, I could see below the usual diaphragm bulge!!! It's been at least 3 years since my vision stopped at the boobs! And that's despite a slight gain yesterday and today! Definitely NOT calories. I'm starving!0 -
Hi to everyone from sunny but cold Saskatchewan. I decided to forego the girls night out tonight. I talked to my sister and she didn’t mention it either so decided we were on the same wave length. We had such a good visit with my bil/sil. We don’t see them often enough. We had so much laughter in the house which was nice after a stressful week. I did talk to the director of Neil’s home today and she will be talking to the pharmacist. I suggested an improved charting plan for the medications. I don’t want to sitting here wondering if he got the right pills. He is comfortable today as long as he doesn’t put weight on his foot. I think he overdid it a bit last night and he paid the price this morning. But…. Being a typical male you can’t tell him anything. Sorry, Jeffrey!
I have dinner in the oven and I think I am going to stretch out on the couch for an hour or so. I am used to late nights but not the early mornings.
Buzz – sorry about your post yesterday. I hate when that happens. I am typing my post into Word in hopes that I won’t lose it. When you are doing the walking video, how much room do you need to do it in? Our TV is in our family room which is crowded with furniture, TV exercise bike and not a lot of floor space left over. Just wondering if it would be possible to do the video there.
Marie – Hope you had a great shopping trip. I also hope that you get to sleep all night tonight.
Sandy – So sorry about the sciatica. I know how painful it is. When I had it I went to physiotherapy a couple of times a week and it seemed to help. I do go to the chiropractor occasionally. I never thought I would as I didn’t ‘believe’ in them. However, after a car accident and trying all the mainstream treatments for my back injury and not getting relief, I bit the bullet and went to a chiropractor. Happily I got an excellent one and I swear it was like a miracle. It didn’t cure my back, the pain will come back if I do something stupid but a trip or three to the chiropractor and I am good as new. I changed from a non believer to an advocate for them. Have fun at bingo, hope you will be able to sit through it.
Gigi – I hope your weather has settled down today. I am sure somewhere you mentioned retiring and now I don’t see it. When is the big day?? In 2 months it will be a year for me and it is really wonderful.
Barbie – Enjoy your quiet day. You deserve it.
Jeffrey – Sorry the knee is swelling. Ice and hot women, hard to find better pain treatment than that.
Take care everyone and keep smiling. Gayla0 -
Good Evening One and All!
I just finished my first rehab session for the knee on the bike. It was NOT fun. It hurt like the ****ens. I got 10 minutes in and that was all I could stand. Now I am setting on the couch in my ice wrap. Where is that red head????
Sandy Good Luck! Good Luck! Good Luck! LOL
Buzz my new friend!
Marie I too have trouble sleeping. It just kind of comes and goes. Listen to NPR radio that usually works for me.
Gayla I hope you and Neil are on the road to recovery!
We had 5 tornadoes within 10 miles of us yesterday. No damange here but a friends house got a glacing blow. They have horrible luck. 2 years back thier house burned to the ground. I have to go to Indianapolis tomorrow for work so that should be fun. Not too much else to report here from Indiana. Joe the Cat is worried about my eating so he is helping me with my chicken! What a thoughtful creature! LOL
My thoughts are with you all!
Jeffrey
Day is fixing us chicken sandwiches for supper. One of my favorite foods! I have lost 10 pounds since Wednesday. I think the surgery is responsible. I just have no appitite but today is a little better.0 -
Barbie! I forgot! Jake has excellent taste too! roflmao!0

Hello everyone,
Today was our special day going Gambling, we arrived at the Empress Casino early, my friend and I had a wonderful day:smooched:
the place is being remodel from top to button, starting with a new name Club Hollywood, food was fantastic and the people very friendly.  after all, I don't think I will return there because there is so many casinos and we don't go that often so next time will go to a different place. :indifferent: :indifferent: The weather was not settled more winds all day on the way there the wind wasn't bad but on our way home:sad:   the winds were so strong I was tired of keeping the van on the road for 2 1/2 hours, the poor truck drivers had a worst time Got home and I was glad to be out of the car.
Sandy - How was Bingo did you win? I didn't but had a great time. I did not see the lady (smart Car) that is crazy saving the branch to make something special:huh:   How are you feeling?
Gayla - So gald you are going to call the home manager and the pharmacy tomorrow, so sorry this is happend....this is uncalled for   that just makes it worst for Neil and you. The special day for my retirement is at the end of December I can't wait.:smooched: :smooched: :smooched: My husband Mike will retire in December too, we're both looking forward to the BIG EVENT:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Jeffrey - When we lived in South Bend for 7 years we spend sometime in Indianapolis great city, hope everything went well there and your knee gets better everyday:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Buzz - Do you have a lot friends coming to Fla for the winter.
Barbie - Great exercises and line dancing Good Job, I can wait for tomorrow to go to the Gym, has been almost a week since I was there:blushing: :blushing: :blushing:
Well everyone have a great evening and have fun:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: My friend who walks with me on Wednesdays is on vacation this week so I got Jake to walk with me…..he didn’t play golf because he thought the weather would be too cold and wet but by the time I got home from line dance it was sunny and getting warmer…..he fixed lunch for me----salmon patty, sweet potato and salad….I needed a long walk to work off the calories of the giant sweet potato.
:flowerforyou: Gigi, I have been reading the Temperance Brennan books by Kathy Reichs…..she’s a forensic anthropologist in North Carolina and Quebec….the books inspired the TV series “Bones” that we love.
:flowerforyou: Gayla, I, too, am outraged that Neil should have had to deal with errors in his medication…..he has so many challenges without that…I know you’ll be very thorough and fair in your dealings with the people who are responsible for making things right….it doesn’t take too much room to do the walking with Leslie Sansone…on some of her videos she talks about how to modify if you have a small space
:flowerforyou: Marie, I don’t sleep well some nights so I get up…..unfortunately, all four pets get up with me and if I try to lie down on the couch they all want to lie down with me.
:flowerforyou: Buzz, you probably know by now that writing a long post as a word document is a good way to make sure you don’t lose it and a good way to reread everybody’s posts so you can respond even without having a great memory. A cleanse day is a day when we don’t eat traditional food, just the Isagenix cleanse beverage and some special snacks. On cleanse days I don’t exercise as much and I do easier chores, watch a lot of TV and read and sometimes take a nap. It’s part of what helped me lose all the weight and gain a lot of energy.
:flowerforyou: Sandy, I’m glad you’re not having any bad effects from the meds and glad that you can do some exercising while you are healing...I hope you'll be comfortable sitting to play Bingo
:flowerforyou: Jeffrey, when Jake was going to physical therapy for his calf injury a few years ago he would come home from every session and say that the physical therapist should be arrested for hurting him so much:laugh:   …Haifa, the cat, has been helping me write this….he likes the warmth of the laptop computer and tries to lie down on the keyboard.
I won't make any comments about the World Series game that we're watching :laugh:0 -
Hello all.
Great day today. Sun is shinning and I am having to wear sweatshirt. It may come off later and exchabge it for a t-shirt.we have no

I am baking some apples for some snacks.
Hope all is doing well. Get well wishes for Jeffrey, Neil, Sandy and anybody else on the punny side.
Have a great day.

GAYLA...As I learn more about your situation, I now understand the problem of other people being counted on to follow through on his needs! No one does it like Mother, right? But you are a wonderful caretaker, I can see! ...I do my "Walking " in our den, amidst couches chairs, exercise paraphernalia, foot rests, etc. I gave my exercycle to my dentist's hygienist as I have no flesh on my butt (all in front!) and it was killing me! And I have all these beautiful biking tapes of Hawaii, Colorado, Italy, etc! Leslie's workouts take almost no room,, and you can modify what you do, anyway! Today I opened her Walk and Tone, which came with a lovely band to add to my collection (from Pilates DVDs!). It's a really good workout, and less boring than her others. And besides 2 miles of interval walking, there is a bonus 3rd mile if you want more! I will also open the Walk and Firm disc where I can use my PowerBelt that's been laying in a corner for 4 years, since the hip went! I suddenly feel I'm getting back in control of my body!
JEFFREY...10 minutes of bike on the 1st Rehab session is fantastic! They always make you feel you're not doing enough! I'm jealous of the 10 pound loss! I have slowly been gaining in the 3 1/2 years since my hip, and am finally feeling capable of doing something about it! I used to fall asleep to radio, too, but South Florida's NPR loses power here around 6 PM, and all our decent stations have changed redically, so I seldom listen any more. Just today, we packed away the 2 radios in the den. I miss the variety we had in NY!
GIGI... Sorry about not winning, but you enjoyed the experience! I cannot play even Monopoly without my heart racing as I near GO, so a gambler I am not! And no, we have few visitors in season, except my sister and BIL, who claim they hate Florida but love us! My kids are skiers, and interested in things other than sunny vacations. Now that my son has moved from Hawaii to NJ, he promises to visit often. Cape May may get bleak in winter???
BARBIE...WHEW! Your exercise calorie burn is impressive! That cleanser is news to me, as I'm afraid I've not paid attention to things of that nature. I may look into it, as you certainly have benefitted! Can I borrow your husband to make salmon patties? I love them! And sweet potatoes are so nutritious, you never have to worry about working them off!...Now, can I ask how one uses Word as you described? I'm a bit of an idiot about that kind of technology; don't even know how to type without looking at the keyboard! How would I transfer the post? Copy and paste? AHA! then I wouldn't have to lose the thread on the website??? Eventually, I'll get it straight!
MARIE... LOVE baked apples, and have forgotten all about them down here! Up north, we always went to the orchards this time of year. I miss the fresh cider that we'd ripen!
Today, for the first time in years, I really felt in charge. I can FEEL the change taking place in my body, even though I have so much more to go. But suddenly, I KNOW I can do it. I realize now I've been slightly depressed about not being capable of exercise and weight control, and this morning---WOW! I knew I had broken through and I believe you have helped, everyone! Thank you for accepting me in here!0 -
hello
everyone, been away for a bit. Nothing much going on but took s break from the comp for a bit. Gets to bea time robber, better to get outside or do things in the house. Sorry this message is a bit messed up,but Sierra is on my arm giving me very little rooom to type. She reLLY HAS NOT taken any schooling in typing either.
Hope all is well,I will be back around sometime soon I have new studies to do and thus I shall work out a schedule to fit them in my time.

Hello!
Well I just fininshed my supper of a turkey burger and a baked potato. One of my favorites! I did my rehab tonight. It was better but it still hurt a lot. I did 2.6 miles in 12 minutes at approx 15 mph. That was a 20% increase in distance / time and a 50% increase in speed. The swelling in the leg is getting better everyday, but color is still that yellow purple looking mess.
We are going to our friends house in Indy for a big Halloween party Saturday. We stay there for the weekend. It is quite a house. About 11,000 square feet! Beautiful home! It is like staying in a hotel. And they are the nicest people. They have never forgotten thier roots. They have a gym so I can still rehab! How cool is that?
Sunday we are going to see Samantha. I cannot wait for that. I have not seen her since August.. The business trip was fine today. I have an early meeting tomorrow morning 7:00 AM. and then a full day. I am ready for the weekend!
I have a report to finish before bed so I am signing off for now! I will try to catch up with everyone tomorrow!
Sleep Well!
Jeffrey0 -
Jeffrey, glad to hear you are feeling better and taking it slow on the rehab. :flowerforyou: Your friends house sound great, I love those big houses, just don't want to own one. I see on twitter you got your report done so you are good to go.
I am sure Samantha is just as happy to see you as your are her, have fun.
Marilyn, nice to hear from you again, sorry you are so busy, but hope you are taking care of yourself. :drinker:
Buzz, you write such good post, I bet you are a perfectionist. :blushing: Sounds like you found your moment of truth and now will be eating and exercising to maintain good health.
Marie, baking apples? You are always making something good to eat. Have you tried out your scooter yet? I think we should see a picture of you with your scooter.
Barbie, you also write great posts, along with helpful information. My ex-daughter in law works for Back Institute and she told me exercise is the best thing for me. She told me another exercise besides the ones the doctor gave me so I will be working with those. I am still taking the meds but if I start to feel better I might stop. Thank you for all your help. :drinker:
Picked up my new car today, it is just wonderful. It is so high tech I am surprised it doesn't just drive me itself. Lots of voice activated things, such as turning on the radio, hearing the weather, navigation information and so on. Now I just have to figure out how to program my remote for the garage and I will be all set.
Life is good.

Hello everyone,
Just a note to tell everyone hello, my daughther that is doing the post doc at Stanford University is coming home for a week we're very happy and we can't wait to see her, she is arriving in St Louis on friday and spending three day with her sister and kids in St Louis, they're all very happy to spend the time together:happy::happy:  then she will spend sometime with us and her friends in Champaign & Chicago. very busy week.
Today I didn't get to the gym like I was planning, work was terrible and I continued working very late, by the time I left was time to get home and cook dinner. well that is whast happens when you take a day off. Can't wait for December:huh:
Tonight is nail night, if I don't get them done tonight....won't be a pretty picture we're meeting Mike's brother and his wife for the weekend in Oakbrook, we going to see a preformance at Drury Lane we have dinner tickets and play, we love going there:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: so far all the performaces we seeing have been Fantastic. We are seeing Seven Brides For Seven Brothers Musical, we're looking forwad to a wonderful evening.
Tomorrow night I need to get everything ready for my daughter since I won't be home for the weekend to get ready,:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Have a great evening and have fun.
Gigi0 -
Back tomorrow, but wanted to correct my wrong information; the Leslie Sansone DVD I like so much is the
WALK AND FIRM, done with an included band. Walk and Tone is with the belt, which I'll try next week!
Sorry about that. :yawn:0 -
:flowerforyou: my day raced by as I got up too late for yoga and had to rush to get to line dance, then it was my day at the dentist, a more than 30 minute drive each way, x-rays of all my teeth, then a super cleaning that required numbing half my mouth....dinner and then a gathering of friends that gave me the opportunity to talk to my friend who gave me the eight boxes of apples and pears last year (some of you may remember all the applesauce I made)....now I have a date to go to her house tomorrow to get more apples to make more applesauce
:flowerforyou: now we're watching game two of the World Series.
sorry, Marie, and other Texas fans.0 -
 Sandy, if I were there, I'd drop a shiny penny in your gorgeous new car for luck! Wishing you much enjoyment with it!
Have to examine your statement about being a perfectionist. I hope not, but perhaps I should think about it, because life is too short to dwell on perfection! :grumble:
I'll take the weekend off, as there's much planned, including the Orchid Show downtown. I wait all year to view the winning plants!
Have a great weekend everyone :flowerforyou:0 -
Good morning girls and guys. Can't leave out Jeffrey, Jake and Our precious Neil.
I am off on another food adventure. I am following the plate management program
You divvide your place into 3 section imagine half a 9 inch plate and half one section into half.
you will have have half secton for non starchy veggies 1/4 section for Protein and and 1/4 for stachy food. outside the plate you have a glass of skim milk or low fat milk a fruit and their are some free foods. like cucumbers celery and etc. of cousr water! water. I think they have some paper plates divided like that. Will check it out. My Health insurance sent this out to me. Seems like the ideal thing for me. It shows pictures of a platfull of foods.
Here is somthing I read this morning
"IT IS EASIER TO SAY NO AT THE STORE THAN 50 TIMES AT HOME." if you don't have it you can't eat it.
Pretty simple.
Love ya all. Marie0 -
Marie, your new food adventure sounds healthy and good for you. Small portions of food three times a day plus two snacks is ideal, I just wish I practiced what I speech. Your quote is excellent and I will try that next time I go shopping.
Buzz, what a sweet idea, I usually do that for gifts but it sounds great for a new car, thank you so much. Don't over think my perfectionist comment, I just meant that you type so well and say such intelligent things. :glasses: Just do what you do and enjoy life.
Barbie, did you eat all the apple sauce from last year? You are so talented with all of your hobbies, knitting, canning, etc. and you still find time for line dancing and more exercising. You are amazing.
Gigi, have a great time with your daughter and enjoy that play. I have friends who saw it and said it was wonderful. Again, you are going to be so close to me, someday we will meet. Where are you staying when you come to Oakbrook?
I used to get acrylic nails but I was allergic to whatever they used and it used to tear up my cuticles. Now if I have a special occasion I buy those glue on nails and they look great and they are only $7.00. :blushing:
We are going to a Halloween Party at the Country Club this afternoon from 4 -8. It is mostly for the kids, but they will have a buffet for adults as well. I think my grand daughter will have a good time with her friends. :drinker:
Have a good Friday and stay healthy!!
Sandy0 -
Happy Friday,
So glad is friday, the day went so fast because I was so busy and did'nt have time to think about it, was great to get out
of the office and have so time off.
Sandy - we're staying at McDonald University or Hyatt at the McDonald Corporation, we stayed there before was very nice.
I have my own nails but I need to use special liquid to keep them strong, I just found a new product, I recomend very highly because I was never able to grow long nails on my right hand from all the house work. Here is the name I purchased on Ebay because I found it in Miami from a friend of mine also worked for her beatifully, when I ordered came in a pack of 4 bottles but you can purchased one. The name is Quimica Alemana LTDA. Nail Hardener. Its a great product, this is the way I use it, clean and fail nails applied two coats of the nail hardener then you nail polish and every two to four days use it again, the nail polished stay perfect and the nail grow. Believe me its works. I hope we can meet someday, maybe after I retire we can plan a day together. Have a great weekend
How was the Halloween Party did you have a good time.:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
Buzz - Have fun at the Flower Show, I love to see different flowers.
Barbie - Good job losing the weight, you're amazing ...:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Have a good weekend.
Gayla - Hope everyday a little better and Neil is doing better each and everyday my prayers are with you and your family. Take care and keep warm.:smooched: :smooched: :smooched:
Have a great weekend all, have fun :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
When I weighed today, I had finally lost the last of the three pounds I gained during all my travels in September and early October…..so now I am back at my goal weight….this is where I want to stay….my goal of eating at home has been a good part of it……since the weekend out of town at the beginning of the month, we’ve only eaten in a restaurant once and that was with someone who had come from out of town….next month won’t be so easy with Thanksgiving dinner and gratitude dinners on the schedule as well as the final meeting of a committee I’ve served on for two years that will end with dinner in a restaurant.
:flowerforyou: Jake and I picked up six boxes of apples from our friend today (last year there were eight boxes) along with two squash and six onions…tomorrow we start the great applesauce cooking marathon…..we haven’t quite finished all the applesauce from last year. But we’re getting close
:flowerforyou: Sandy, your new car and all its techno stuff sound great…you will have so much fun when you learn to use all the new features….I had acrylic nails for a few months but I had some itchy reaction to them so I quit..at the time I thought it might have something to do with the woman who was doing my nails, but since they were expensive and time consuming to do, I never tried going anywhere else to see if someone else could do a better job.
:flowerforyou: Gigi, enjoy the show…..I love musicals
:flowerforyou: Buzz, the orchid show sounds great….they are such amazing flowers
:flowerforyou: Marie, I’ve read about dividing your plate with the meat/protein in a small part and the vegetables in the big part…..I’ll be interested in seeing how it works for you…..I loved the quote….we have been good about not buying the tempting food and it’s working for us.
:flowerforyou: Gayla, I hope Neil is doing better and that you are getting some breathing room.
 For dinner tonight we had chicken baked with onions, peppers, and tomatoes, salad, and sweet potatoes…yum yum

Hello All,
Marie, Sorry the Rangers are having such a rough time. Maybe they will have better luck in game 3.
Sandy and Barbie,
Regarding artificial nails and possible allergic reactions. While it is possible you were allergic to the liquid or the powder used to create acrylic nails, it is possible the problem was caused by something else. I haven't had artificial nails for some time, but when I was having them done, I discovered I was sensitive to the cuticle oil that they were treating me with before the acrylic product was applied. Whenever the oil was applied, I would have redness and itching around my cuticles for a couple of days, then the rest of the time I was fine. I didn't figure it out until on one appointment the nail technician forgot to put cuticle oil on me, and I noticed I didn't have any reaction.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. We had a very nice sunny day today, and it made it up to 60 degrees. We are supposed to get some more rain by Saturday night.
Gayla, I hope Neil is making a good recovery from his surgery and the fall he took.:flowerforyou:
Jeffrey, Good luck with your rehab, and have a fun visit at your friends' "palace"
To anyone I didn't mention, nothing personal..just don't have anything more to say. Long week, and I have a lot of studying to do this weekend in preparation for a training class I will be in next week,
Barb0 -
Thank you Gigi for the product for your nails, I will definitely try it as my nails just don't grow since using acrylic nails. Birdie, that is exactly what happened to my cuticles, itchy, red and then they would start cracking. I did try several other shops but never thought to ask them not to put the cuticle oil on. I thought it might be from that little electric file they use, but your reasoning sounds more realistic. Funny how we support each other with any problem, so minor or very serious.
Barbie, CONGRATULATIONS on reaching your goal weight. :drinker: I don't think I am ever going to reach mine, I am just not as disciplined as you. I am not giving up but with the holidays coming I know it will be some weight gain, but I am going to try hard to be good.
Marie, I don't watch baseball but I am routing for your Texas Rangers!! I love when the underdog wins. How is the scooter?
Gayla, I hope Neil is doing better and things are getting back to normal. Prayers still coming your way. :flowerforyou:
I will be doing my back exercises and hopefully the stationary bike today because I want to go to my car and play with all the gadgets.  For those of you with tech skills it downloads all my music CD's onto a hard drive so you don't have to carry all the CD's with you, very cool. Also want to program in all the new stations on the XM radio. Really, these are my problems of the day, hope yours are just as minor.
Have a wonderful Saturday,
Sandy0 -
Barbie’s Homemade Applesauce
*as many apples (cored and sliced) as you need to fill a 4 quart pot
*2 cups of water
1. Core and slice the apples (leave the skin on)
2. Heat apples and water, covered, on high heat for 10 minutes
3. Turn heat to low and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes
4. Continue to heat on low, uncovered, for 40 minutes
5. Serve warm, or cool in refrigerator, or put in glass jars, or plastic containers, or freezer bags to freeze for up to a year
6. You can add cinnamon while cooking or make the applesauce plain and add cinnamon when you serve it.

:flowerforyou: Sandy, our motorhome had an XM radio/GPS/music player that would copy whole CDs just like your car and we loved it....I don't miss the motorhome as much as I miss that system....I know you will enjoy it
:flowerforyou: I finished 7 quarts of applesauce today and have barely made a dent in the apples.....now we're relaxing watching Game Three of the World Series.....the people in Texas seem to be having a great time.
:flowerforyou: no rain today so the dogs and I had a good walk at the dog park and I did a bit of puttering in the garden.

:flowerforyou: no rain today so the dogs and I had a good walk at the dog park and I did a bit of puttering in the garden.
Barbie,
Glad you had a good walk. Despite a weather report stating it wouldn't rain until this evening, all "your" rain came down HERE today:grumble: :ohwell: My "piglets" stayed in all day, except for a few quick trips to the back yard.
Just had a yummy dinner of green salad, broiled steak, acorn squash. I am now ready for a nap, except that I am watching the Ducks and USC beat up on each other, and it is a good game.
BTW, Marie, do I see you doing the happy dance after the Rangers' victory today?? Sorry Barbie, I know you are rooting for the Giants. At least it won't be a sweep now. I have always thought it must be very demoralizing to play well enough during the regular season to make it to the championship series and then not win a single game.
Good evening to all.
Barb0 -
A very quick Hi to all. Not much has changed here. Ok, nothing has changed for Neil and he is getting very sad. I sat with him most of the day except for my runs to the washer/dryer. Tonight was the night he was supposed to go to the Halloween dance and he certainly didn't forget that. I offered to go with him but he didn't want to do that! Not that I blamed him, of course. His buddy was going out and it really upset him but after a little stomp to his bedroom he got over it and came back out to watch some TV with me. I was proud of him that he was able to get himself under control so quickly. As much as the no voice is annoying, it is really terrible not to be able to swallow liquids. He can't even go to the bar for a pop with his buddy even if he wasn't in a cast!!
Otherwise all is good.
I will catch up with you all tomorrow. Have a Happy Hallowe'en! Take care. Gayla0 -
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
Gayla, you almost made me cry, poor Neil, I wish his throat would get better so he could at least drink and talk to you. How nice that he got under control so easily, he must love you so much.
Barb, you dinner sounds delicious and you are just like Barbie with your discipline, so proud of the both of you. :drinker:
Barbie, you apple sauce sounds easy to make, but I am not a canner. (wide open for a one liner  ) Wasn't that system great? Mine is also run off of voice commands, but it is hard to remember all the commands.
Have a great Halloween with all the kiddies, I just love the little ones. We have long hours in our town, 1-6 so I will be busy getting up and down. The good thing is the weather is good 51 and sunny, so it should be a good day. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Sandy0 -
Urg urg this is my day for losing my post so I will make this shortS
Thanks Sandy for posting the lovely pumpkins.
Gayla It seems to me Neil attitude is changing too the good. Maybe because he is not hving those bad sizures.
He is a very smart boy and will learn to ommucating with you all. But hopefully it does not continue. When do you go back to the doctor for I know you have a bunch of questions for him.
Jeffrey how is you day going?
Barbie is happy with all of her apples
Barbs, is acorn squash a starches veggie and how do you cook it.?
Look like the cowboys are playing like they have all year,
The rangers play after this, It ought to be moer exciting At least I hope so.
To all the rest of you have a Happy Holloween Don't eat too much candy.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
....Barbs, is acorn squash a starches veggie and how do you cook it.?.....
Marie,
100 grams of it has 56 calories, 15 carbs, 4 grams fiber, 437 mg potassium,, 1 gram protein, 0 sugars
A russet potato, which most everyone considers to be starchy, is as follows:
100 grams has 97 calories, 21 carbs, 2 grams fiber, 550 mg potassium, and 3 grams of protein. 1 gram of sugar.
Since the same amount of squash has fewer carbs than a potato, and no natural sugar, I would guess it would be considered less starchy than a potato. I am not an expert. Hope this helps you figure out if it is something you can have.
See you all next month. Happy Halloween.

Hi everyone. We had a very nice day for the kids to be out for Hallowe'en. The turnout was low and I am guessing that may be due to it being on Sunday.
Marie -- Neil has an appt. to get his staples out tomorrow. I am glad because they are irritating him. On Wed. he sees his neurologist and I hope to get a referral to a throat Dr. at that time.
Sandy -- Do you have restrictions on when the kids can come for treats? I have never heard of places doing that but I can see where it could be a good idea. We don't have many come after about 7 anymore.
Gigi -- This time last year I was counting the days to retirement so I know exactly how you feel. Do you work right until the end of December? I had a lot of holidays to take so I took almost the month of December in holiday days. Enjoy your daughter!
I didn't take notes so just hope everyone else is well. Take care and keep smiling. Gayla0
