I'd appreciate advice from older guys who have experience with women.. some of the women are being rude and sarcastic. So please, if you're a girl, move on...this is a now a guy thread ONLY.
Older guy here.
Get to know her without coming across creepy or desperate, even if that means not running into her for a few weeks.
Ask her out sooner than later, because you won't want to miss your window of opportunity(if there is one, it's up to her).
No guarantee that she cares about you in any way, shape or form, but good luck.0 -

So there's this girl I met at school the other day. It wasn't like love at first sight, really. It’s was more like… gravity moved. When I saw her, suddenly it wasn't the earth holding me here anymore. She was, and since she came into my life nothing matters more than her. I would do anything for her, be anything for her… I'll become whatever she needs me to be. What would be a good way of asking her out?

I just about fell out of my chair laughing at this whole thread. I'm not sure what's more funny - the fact that it's from Twilight or the fact that so many people took it seriously... well done.0

A girl usually knows in the first minute or two if she will sleep with you so good luck.
Ha... and any "boy" who worries about if a girl will sleep with him or not... needs to grow up. Life has FAR more important things than sex.0 -
1. oneitis
Often confused with love, this is the feeling that a particular woman is actually special. This is just an illusion; she is the same as the other three or so billion.
In other words, get over yourself and your obsession with that girl, because it's just an illusion. And when you get rejected, don't be depressed. Because there's really not much to worry about.
This is just a tad sexist and rude.
OP, be yourself! You go for it! although I would say if she doesn't seem to come off as romantic as you are, I'd let her go. She won't appreciate you and you'll be disappointed. Best of luck xoxo0 -

Sex is pretty important , probably the most important thing in life
Without it , we wouldn't have a life0 -

My point?
Its that some people are so dim that their synapses function as a parrot of representations of the world view they subscribe too. Like the defeatist, blue collar, anti-everything-thats-not-humble/hardoworking/everyman-swag that people have, completely oblivious it comes from insecurity, go around hating on everything thats not what they know because they can barely handle to exist with their innadequacies that they have created a whole warped world of safety around themselves and practically ignore things with elements that threaten their mental safe space of fear.
Go scoff at Justin Bieber or something, its been awhile since he took over the world with one song and a couple youtube clips.
But I cringe so hard at people who try to put down Twilight, with all the ignorance of a monkey see, monkey do broken record of an opinion. (Wooooowwww you're so masculine!!!) Its so misguided because its about as annoying as hearing one of these guys talk about the Mona Lisa that its just some corny looking lady and the Art historian is sitting there in the corner just shaking his head at your ignorance.
I mean Twilight reads like a reverse engineered psychology manual for seducing women. Every element in the setup and plot serves to maximally hit every receptor a woman has for love and attraction. In the rawest realest way possible. Yes being "taken" yes being stimulated/intimidated, yes being with the Alpha, yes everyone wants to live forever and love to last forever.
Again, its the potency and the DEGREE to how affecting this book is, how powerfully it struck the chord.
You compare other writers, but thousands of books come out every year, novels by the buckets, but none of them reach that status. Why aren't those other books that are so much less "laughable" not selling like that? Why aren't other books spreading through the nation like wildfire through word of mouth? I mean I don't see any other books deeply affecting almost every single female youth in the nation to such an obsessive degree? Hmm maybe there was something more going on in there? Before the posters and the Hollywood? Maybe theres some real meat there to this love story and maybe a very potent, respectable work of art?? HMMMM......
In fact it falls on the timeline of the whole Harry Potter Generation.
Harry Potter: Definitive book for going to school and growing up.
Twilight: Definitive book for young love/falling in love.
Fifty Shades of Grey: Definitive book for adult seduction and mental pornography (equally as potent in its science)
So please, cringe at something else. Something thats not a masterstroke of writing genius. It makes me cringe when you cringe...0 -

I couldn't stand Titantic either. Oh noes.
Lol implying that any women you or I know in general is the main source for conceptualizing the patterns of all women at large.
Sometimes people think something sucks because they don't have the mental tools to appreciate the truth in something. How can one recognize something that is real, if one is afraid of reality? I don't know what your background is, but just because you don't like something doesn't mean that there is nothing to like about it. As is the case with this, millions of people loved it, to a critical degree.
If you are just being a hipster, trying to think its cool to not like something that is mainstream, I'm not impressed.
Even if its not your cup of tea so to speak, at least the recognition of the mastery of the craft/business should be enough to withhold such petty petty misguided anti-mainstream attacks like as if its something that defines you as a person.
I know all too well whats on your hidden agenda. Jealousy and envy.
If you were intellectually honest with yourself, you would not bash it on the merit of respecting the overwhelming potency of the devices held within. But because you do bash it, it is a sign that you have some hidden motives and hatred which reflects a hidden self hatred all plain in sight here to see on the public forums. Just exposing yourself for the anti-establishment hater that you are.
In fact we should be positive all the time and not reward each other when we hate on one another.
She made this whole phenomenon with just words people! Just words and imagination and she effected the hearts and minds of millions. Thats the definition of art!0 -
