chubby or skinny

It would be nice if we could have a thread where some woman didn't feel the need to come in and insult other women's body types.
I guess that's too much to ask.
I was thinking the same thing. It gets a little old, doesn't it? Imagine the outrage if there were body shaming directed at the overweight in every thread.
Meh, I've been heavy most of my life and the people who've always done the teasing are skinny. I say let the skinny people have it. They deserve to feel what it's like. Maybe they'll actually develop a little empathy from it.
Wow, really?!? You don't think we got it, too?!? You don't think that people told me I should eat a cheeseburger or forced to eat a sammich?? Screw that! No ONE should be tortured for their weight. No one!
Yeah but when people tease skinny people it's usually coming from a different place. It's usually more a "you should fatten up so you don't make look so bad." When people tease fat people it's literally to punish them for being fat and to make themselves feel good. It's not balanced at all. You see this in so many areas. You can even look at extremes like eating disorders that cause you to be too skinny. Those are diseases right? That's accepted as such. But when someone says obesity is a disease people laugh and say "get some self control!"
edit: spelling
Wow, you need help. Really, you do. I should eat more so I don't LOOK SO BAD?!?! How the EFF is that even remotely ACCEPTABLE?!? I don't understand how you don't see that as punishment or how that isn't the equivalent of making someone feel like *kitten* about themselves. Yea, I sure felt AMAZING when I was told I looked like Skeletor. Yep, that felt AWESOME. I not ONCE made fun of a person for his or her weight. Not ONCE. And, because I was made fun of so much for being under weight, I never would. You would think being made fun of for being heavy, you would understand that. Obviously not.0 -
Hey.. Im fat. I know that no one wants fat people... and I personally know that cute and chubby is an insult. Skinny people get everything in life. Fat people get nothing.0

That's a very sad generalization. So because a few thin people teased you, all thin people should be teased now? I can tell you it doesn't feel very good to be told you need to eat a cheeseburger for being too thin. Especially when you can't eat one because you have a bowel disorder. Everyone has his or her own story sweetheart. Don't judge us all based on a couple of cruel people you came into contact with.
To say it's only a couple shows the blindness skinny people have to the issue. So a few people told you to eat a cheese burger. Probably friends, maybe some family. Did total strangers ever do it? Every kid at school? People on the street every point? Doubt it.0 -
All these men are LYING LYING LYING. No one wants a fat girl, Chubby is a fancy word for a gross and fat . Chubby still means fat and nasty. It's just a nice way of saying it. Just like "unfortunite looking" is a nice way of saying one is actually as ugly as homemade sin.
Someone's bitter about not getting any.
We all know that overweight women never get married.
I must be ugly. I mean, my husband gets erections All. The. Time.
Wait.
I think that means he's attracted to me.
Can I have a guy clear this up for me? I've always gotten plenty of action, but perhaps those men were just punishing themselves? Or were they just trying to do me a favor?
I'm so confused.0 -

Have you never heard of a chubby chaser? This goes for both men and women. When I first started dating my fiance I straight up asked him what kind of women he liked and he told me that he liked bigger girls and he's not the only guy I've dated that said that. So uhh maybe rethink your way of thinking. Not everyone likes skinny and not everyone likes chubby/fat. To each their own.0 -

No, the reason you get nothing in life is because you have severe personality defects, including, but probably not exclusive to, burying your head in denial as to the reason you fail to achieve things.0 -

I'd wager that it's not your appearance that's keeping you from being wanted.
Confidence is sexy.
Shaming is ugly.
Think about it.0 -

For me? Yes. Plenty of strangers told me to eat a cheeseburger and/or be forced to eat a sandwich. You have NO idea, but I would guess it was just as bad and often as you were told the opposite. At least I have sympathy.0 -
To the OP, I don't really mind within the boundaries of extremes. I don't get turned on by skeletons, nor do I like having to hold things out of the way to get access to areas. If neither applies, I wouldn't rule anything out based solely on body type.0

You don't need to lose weight. You need to lose that attitude. Good grief. I'm smaller, but I'm also single and not once handed anything in life. I have had to work hard to get where I am in life, from gaining the weight in a healthy manner to any and everything else. I did it with a positive attitude, not an entitled one.0 -

One of my best friends is morbidly obese. She's one of the most popular girls I know, always has been. She's well over 100 lbs. overweight. She's got one of the best personalities I've ever seen, is one of the best dancers I've ever seen. She's never been without a man in her life and is happily married. It's not about size, it's about attitude.0 -
Most of the threads on here involve body shamming... and its all the skinny people doing it0

I prefer a man with a bit of meat on them0

starting to realize this thread was a gateway to skinny bashing and body shaming.
See, av.0 -
At first I would say skinny, because the chubbier guys I've dated had some serious insecurity and self-esteem issues associated with being a little bigger, but I guess skinny guys can have their esteem issues with being smaller.. I would prefer to date a guy who is comfortable with who they are as a person, chubby or skinny.0

BS.
In this thread alone there are examples of body shaming towards thinner women.0 -

that's pretty funny, considering its all been skinny shaming. Not one person has made one sideways remark about anyone overweight.0 -
I'm all for them skinny. I've dated both, but I've found my preference lies in the tall and uber skinny. Mmmm. YUP.
Edit to say when I mean both, I literally mean from 350lbs down to my current boyfriend who is 145. They're ALL good..it's about ATTITUDE and personality!!!!0 -

that is one of my favorite sayings. :happy:0 -

I don't believe that for a second. The reason most people are on here is because at some point they weren't skinny.
There is a difference between failing to sympathise with those with attitude problems, losing patience with those who refuse to follow sensible advice, and body shaming.0 -

I've never once been involved in any body shaming on this forum, nor have I seen many others doing it. When I have, it's usually been comments about boniness, to be honest. Please give examples of what you believe to be body shaming against the obese here. I don't believe in body shaming, myself, and I believe you are participating in it yourself by targeting the thin as selfish people who are mean and don't earn what they get in life.0 -
who cares?
I care!!!! I mean seriously though, as long as she has nice teeth!!!!!
RIGHT?!!

That's because the women the chubby guys have met have generally not been at all accepting of it LOL. Seriously, try to talk to a girl at a bar as a 300lb guy. It's not exactly a positive experience. Are all women flat out rude? Of course not. Do most dismiss you almost immediately. Yes. It's 10,000 times more harder than if you're skinny.0 -
Well my cousin has been hospitalized and gone through treatment for anorexia twice, cannot walk through a mall in the greater los angeles area without getting phone numbers from men, offers to model, her gas pumped, her groceries carried to her apartment, offers to go on a yacht for the weekend..etc. She'll tell you personally that after she hits the 110 pound mark the offers stop drifting off, but they pour in at 95 pounds....0
-
Both. It's more about their smile and attitude vs. their body type.0
