Buttsmom, Alright fair enough that you can't keep off of it due to family obligations but when able to I would avoid any other activity and I would just rest it. Otherwise you risk making it a lot worse. But you could do push-ups/planks and maybe some yoga.
Your right, my ankles are more sore today. I did do a lot of upper body the day before, but last night I really wanted to get a full work out in. Around 3000 of them are from exercise, tonight I will go back to the upper body.0 -

:flowerforyou: BoresEasily, my highest total since I got my Omron is 25,752 (I have the computer program that allows me to download the information and it maintains a database and shows averages and high counts).......I live at the top of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State so depending on how far north you are in BC, our darkness and weather may be similar. Our last RV trip was to BC.....we spent a week in Trail and then drove back to the west coast on highway 3 via Oliver.
:flowerforyou: Buttsmom, take it easy with your ankle.......yoga, crunches, pushups, upper body workouts will keep your body moving without taxing your ankle......I know how frustrating this is because last summer when my knee was injured it :made me crazy to see how low my numbers were on my pedometer. The good thing is that my knee is all healed without drugs, surgery, or any effort except following directions.
:flowerforyou: kpopa, we have two standard poodles and before that we had a Golden Retriever so I know what you mean about a Golden Doodle
it's a combination of the two best dogs.
:flowerforyou: yesterday I walked just over 11,000 steps......I had to dance and jog while watching TV to get the last 2000 but in the house late at night, that's what works.:bigsmile:0 -
Hello, I have been walking lots more the last few months since my puppy is now able to go longer distances so I would like to join in with you and aim for 10,000 steps a day (well some days) lol0

barbie, yeah our weather and evenings are probably very similar. I'm in the lower mainland, just outside of Van. 25K is pretty badass. Today I'm doing lousy but I'm seriously considering walking to the store to see if they have any bananas and cucumbers on sale. I'm bursting with energy but I did a HIIT session last night and then a little while later I did more intervals(probably not the best idea) while watching Merlin. So I'm thinking a briskish walk should be alright. Didn't count the second interval set as a workout though even though I was sweating and a little wiped out afterwards, not out of breath or anything just wiped.
I'm at 7890 now I think I'm going to go for that walk and get a few more aerobic steps in in the process. Walk lots but most importantly have fun and have a great day.0 -

12/14 - 15845 steps on the day. Happiness is realizing I didn't wear it this morning when walking dogs (for 2300 steps - it's the same route every workday morning) so I can legitimately add that to the daily total, and I did.0

:flowerforyou: today was a challenge......I prepared a turkey dinner for friends, had a vet appointment for both cats, had an hour long meeting at noon followed by a two hour visit from a friend and then the dinner party. I walked up and down the hall or jogged in the living room with every spare moment and at 10 PM finally got to 10,000 steps :bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile:0

Hi, I have had a good day today and reached 15,000 steps!!! but the weather is not looking very good for tomorrow so it might be a different story :laugh: will probably struggle to make it to 10,0000

According to my pedometer I did 7236 and 6249 were aerobic. But I did the 4 mile Walk Away The Pounds and 1.25 miles of the 3 mile in about 77min. And I wasn't walking like she was, I was jogging or running. I don't think the pedometer is all that great at picking up a lot of those steps. All of the steps were during that 77min. My HRM forced me to do 75min I had just planned to do her 4 mile challenge but my HRM said my workout had to be 75min in length. I think my HRM hates me.0

:flowerforyou: today was my most challenging line dance class----I know that the pedometer doesn't count all the steps but the dancing is great and the thinking required is awesome.......after lunch I met my walking friend for a brisk walk that covered almost two hours and almost five miles including some uphill stretches......After a short rest I loaded up the dogs and went to the dog park where there were birds to keep the dogs entertained while I walked......right now my pedometer is up to 21,000 steps.....I am resisting the urge to jog in front of the TV all evening to try to beat my highest day's total. :laugh:0 -
12/15/2010 - 9215 Steps without even really trying :drinker: That was just walking to work and back and then shopping for about 90mins... most frustrating thing about the latter - I'm a "fast walker" and get really annoyed when people so-called "amble" in front of me and block my way through. I like to get in and get out when shopping...they should make "slow" and "fast" lanes for shoppers walking around malls etc (not talking about check-out lines) :laugh:0

12/15 - 13150 - Decorated the house for Christmas and grocery shopped so I didn't get out to hike the trails, resulting in a bit of a blah day for steps. The world did not come to an end because I didn't take the mutts for a run AND I had McDonalds for lunch.0

I agree with you entirely about it not catching all the steps but moving around is fun in and of itself and I hope you did the jog because that will give me something to try and beat in the next week. I want to do a day where I hit 30-35K still. I've not done anything yet but I'm going to rectify that sometime soon.

So, I only logged 8500 yesterday. I'm sooooo bummed cuz I can't seem to get those extra 1500 steps in. Any suggestions? How on EARTH are people logging over 15000!?!?!?!0 -

In NW Washington it rains and gets warm and snows and gets cold but with the right wool clothing I can go out and work in my yard for 20-40 minutes at a time when the temperature is above freezing and keep my yard looking tidy.
