Hi Ladies, glad you all had a nice weekend. I did too and it was busy. We got our container gardening done which was great. I spent all weekend nursing my feet. I was having panic attacks over my feet yesterday because they were hurting. This is why I kept my workouts lite. I've been icing, massaging, ultrasound. I was just so afraid that I was not going to be able to exercise at all but I've done the best that I can to too keep moving without causing myself more harm. So far so good!
Today I made an appointment with my foot ortho and lucky for me she has an appointment tomorrow morning. You have no idea how lucky I am to have gotten this appointment. She is one hard specialist to get an appointment with. After I made the appointment my feet started to hurt really bad and the pain traveled up my calves. This prompted me to stretch my calves and my feet have felt pretty good since then. I didn't think it was my Achilles tendon anymore since I've been stretching and massaging my calves a lot lately but maybe it still is. I just hope the doctor gives me a second boot for my left foot!
The other night I got up to go pee and since I'm wearing the boot I woke up with the boot on one foot and a Birkenstock on the other!  I actually got under the blankets with the Birkenstock on! Too funny!
I did my last shopping spree in the attic today. I had 2 pairs of capri pants, 1 pair of jeans and a skort still with the tags on! I started out as a size 14 and I'm down to a size 8 ladies! There was a time when I was a size 4 which I didn't think I could ever again be but now that doesn't sound so impossible. Two of my coworkers and I decided to do a 30 day ab challenge. The challenge has you doing situps with knees bent, crunches, leg rises and planks. I can't do the planks due to my shoulders. Day 1 stars you with 15 situps, 5 crunches, 5 leg raises and 5 planks. I started my day 1 with 40 situps, 40 crunches and 25 leg raises. I also added a squat challenge. Day 1 starts with 50 squats. I did those as one set plus about 30 from the X10 workout.

Laurie, I read Cathe's newsletter about her new DVD's they really sound awesome and needless to say I am VERY tempted to pre-order them too even if I've to complete the STS program. I like the idea of the cardio workouts. Cathe cracked me up when she suggested you spend $5 more in order to get the 20% discount. As if you can get anything for $5 on her site!

Michelle, the Blue Ridge Mountains are beautiful. I'm glad you had a wonderful weekend. This means you're able to walk which is great. I'm really sorry about your knee. What a bummer. I hope you get an ortho appointment soon. Thanks so much on the congrats about the 21 lb weight loss. I can't believe it!

Laurel, welcome back! Great too see you back doing your killer workouts again! I'm sure you're loving them. It must be surreal to think that your husband is actually going to retire. I know you'll have to go through the insane moving process again but at least the next time you move will be into your own home
I'm glad you had a great birthday celebration with your in-laws. How far do them live from you now?
Thanks on the congrats about the weight loss Laurel. I can't believe I've done it. I just didn't think this was possible for me. I am going to keep working on my abs and will do as much as I can.

Tami, thank God that gas leak was discovered! Too bad you had had to stay home this weekend. Great workouts this weekend and you even got to workout with the kids!
I am really trying to find ways to stay active. Specially now that my feet are acting up. Definitely no lunges and I'm afraid to do high impact. Even the Low Max workout was risky.
Our plants stay alive thanks to DH who waters them! Of course right now God is seriously watering the plants. It is raining pretty hard, lightning and serious thunder too!

    Good night ladies!

Hi Ladies! Enjoyed a good workout this morning. I started with my last STS Meso 1 workout--back and triceps. So glad I did STS a these past four weeks because it really kept me on track throughout the move. I followed it with Weights and Plates Abs which is SO good. For cardio, I did intensity (with Bootcamp).

Tami, I am sorry to hear your weekend plans didn't workout but glad you discovered the leak before hitting the road. Sounds kind of scary! Sounds like you got some great workouts in, though, and some good time with pups. Glad our wavelengths have stayed the same despite my move across the country!

Thelma, sounds like you are enduring quite a bit of pain. I hope it eases up soon. Sounds like you are doing everything you can to get yourself healed up. The ab challenge sounds good! I think you exceeded expectations for day 1! My in-laws are about 90 minutes away. Close enough.....but not too close.

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies ~ Well Insane-X happened afterall! WooHoo …. I had received a call that there were only 3 of us signed up so they were going to cancel it :frown: Then I got an e-mail that more were coming so it was back on. There were probably 8 of us there. Amy did the class and it was tough stuff (as usual). This a.m. was Tabatacise (Pre-Mix #15) so all Tabatas + Burn Set Back & Core. I’m liking this XT rotation with Cardio/Weights combined; it’s different for me to do a cardio and then a shorter segment body part. As usual Cathe puts great plans together. Tonight will be Spinning

Thelma: Dang it lady  :frown: sounds like your foot is really causing some grief. I am really sorry to hear that. Nothing worse than a nagging pain anywhere in the body but as we have talked …. In your feet it is just a constant reminder. I do know it will get better! :flowerforyou: Sounds like you are doing absolutely everything to deal with it and try to help it. Fantastic that you were able to get into the foot ortho so quickly – it was meant to be! Yahoo. :drinker: Again I will say through all of this I think you have remained really positive and absolutely plugging away with your workouts! I think it is so fantastic. Yes, staying at home was too bad but not overly disappointing. I meant to tell you yesterday that I have ordered the Dasquin for Emma. It should be here this week. I am anxious to start her on that and see how she goes.

Laurel: Good grief woman! :noway:  :drinker: You never cease to absolutely amaze me with your fabulous workouts. Such a great job. How are you liking your house now that you are settled in a litte more? Yes, the boat situation could have been pretty dangerous. He has found gasoline everywhere at this point and the boat manufacturer where he had his boat serviced in Seattle is willing to pay for a new floor if he wants. Luckily it has been raining off & on since last night so some of the “fumes” are subsiding. How’s your hubby feeling about his retirement now that it is right around the corner. I would imagine it is completely surreal at this point.

Hope you ladies have a great evening ~ talk to you tomorrow! Tami

    Evening Ladies,

Has been a very busy time, but had a great weekend visiting with my parents. Yesterday was youngest dd's regional track meet, and she qualified for the sectional meet in the 4x200 and 4x400. The sectionals are on Friday, so I probably will not be working out that day. Then the following week is the state meet, which I will be taking some time out of work to attend that.

So today was the first workout I have done in about 5 days. :frown: So I chose to workout with Kelly Coffey-Meyer, and did her 30MTF Circuit Burn Combined Workout Premix. Felt great to workout the whole body.

Tami, I had looked at that rotation when I first started XTrain, it looked like it would be fun. Glad that you are enjoying it. Nice that so many people showed up to attend the class. Dang on the boat, but glad to hear that the company is willing to repair it. Very scary if the boat would have caught on fire.

Laurel, Wow what a great combo of workouts you got in, and I'm amazed that you where able to keep up with your STS workouts. I like when the workouts can keep us on sane. People don't seem to understand that if I don't workout, I get super crabby. I was heading in that direction yesterday, when I had to miss a workout to watch the dd run. I don't think that I have had a track meet that hasn't been cold and or raining. They say that Friday is suppose to be nice, so I'm really crossing my fingers on that one.

Thelma, Ouch on the foot, hope everything is going to be okay with it. Glad to hear that you where able to get your plants in. We are now able to start planting around here. The saying is that you never plant anything until after Memorial Day, or they could have frost damage. LOL about the boot and your shoe, you must have been tired.

I'm going to be getting the new workouts. Hopefully she has the pre-sale on for a little while. Those PiYo workout are coming out in June also, and I would like to stretch the payments out a little.

    Have a great evening,
    Laurie

Hi Ladies, tonight was my last training session with Sarah. Her replacing has been shadowing her which is a good move on the owner's part. My new trainer's name is Matt. I trained with him once before and I don't remember being impressed. In all fairness he didn't know then so he had to go easy on me. I have 5 sessions left and I'm not going to be renewing. I still don't know when the new gym will open up though.
My ortho appointment went well. I have plantar fasciitis. I have been doing pretty much everything I need to do for this injury except for one stretch which actually targets the plantar fascia. The doctor actually kept pressing against the area above my heel on the inner side of my foot and I couldn't understand why because her nurse practitioner did the same thing before her. Turns out I have a cyst in the talus on the right foot. It looked like it was the size of a penny to me but who knows. Anyway, it didn't hurt when they pressed there. It only hurt AFTER I left the doctor's office! The doctor compared today's x-rays to the ones they took on 2012. The cyst was there already and it is exactly the same as the one she saw today.
Here is a picture of the foot bones and you can see where the Talus is located at.
    http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00170
I don't have a fracture but the doctor thinks that at some point in time maybe there was a hairline fracture around there. I don't remember anything that would've caused that but I did twist my ankle when I was about 15.
A new pain developed on my left foot today but nothing showed on the x-rays. I thought a little bone had gotten stuck somewhere but in looking at this picture I think it could be the transverse tarsal joint.
    http://www.emedicinehealth.com/broken_foot/article_em.htm

I just have to keep wearing my sneakers, doing my stretches, icing and going easy on my feet. I probably have over worked them with so much leg work. My feet are feeling better now that I've eased up on the cardio. So now I have to add on gradually as opposed to starting full force. As long as I listen to my body I will help prevent a long term injury.
    http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00170

It looks like I'm the only one who actually took the ab challenge seriously and did it. I did it again tonight and this time my knees were not bent and legs were extended. This made them more challenging,
I have PT tomorrow night and will most likely try to do the spinning bike but I will be very careful.

Laurel, great workouts today!! My foot pain is not there constantly thank God but when it hurts I better be careful with foot placement.

Tami, great workouts. I saw last night that you'd gone to the Insane-X class. That XT rotation you're doing sounds great. I'm so glad you ordered the Adequan for Emma. I really hope it helps her!
The foot injury is something else I need to learn to overcome. I have surprised myself about the fact that I've stayed positive despite my injuries.

HI Laurie, congrats on your DD qualifying for the sectional meets! Great KCM workout! We were happy about having been able to get the plants in. It got cold last night with the heavy rain we got and today it was cold/raw. No frost though which is good for us.
    Good night!

Hi Ladies! Another good combo of workouts today. I started with Great Glutes and did the 63 minute premix. I followed it with Afterburn Bonus Burn which hit those legs a bit more. Felt great today. We had rain this morning, so the humidity was up and I was in a puddle at the end. :blushing: While my cardio feels much easier to breathe through at sea level, I am actually enjoying the new challenge of heat and humidity. I will take the latter because, in the end, it makes me feel healthier.

Tami, glad your class wasn't cancelled. Why so few attendees? Is it the usual summer time lull? I hope that is all it is. Glad you are enjoying this rotation. Do you find yourself going heavier with the weight since you are only doing one body part a day? Somehow I think that would be an advantage to lifting like that. Thanks for asking about the house. I do really like it. It is a beautiful house, to be honest. I guess my MIL was talking to my DH the other day and telling him how beautiful I had made it. :blushing: Can't wait until DH and I are here together. I miss him. But just a few more days until I head back to Colorado. I think he is handling his upcoming retirement pretty well. I guess we'll find out in about a week :noway: , but he seems to be ready and looking forward.

Laurie, I completely understand about being crabby when you can't workout. My MIL thought I was nuts for working out while I was unpacking here, and I tried to tell her it was keeping me sane. She didn't quite understand. But it really does! When all around me is madness, my workouts provide stability. They always have. Glad you enjoyed a good weekend and congrats to your dd! :drinker:

Thelma, yikes on plantar fasciitis. I have had that as well. I am sure they told you it can take months to get better. But stretches, ice and proper shoes had me up and running (literally) in about four months. Well that and losing 50 lbs! I still have to watch it and rarely, if ever, go barefoot. I am fine in socks.....just not bare feet. So be patient and let it heal. I lowered my impact for awhile and really watched my step routines (as they seemed to inflame the issue) so I think cutting down on cardio and maybe impact is good for right now. Hope it gets better soon! :flowerforyou:

    Until tomorrow!

Hi Ladies ~ Great Spinning last night! Katy even said, man that was tough . . . what was I thinking?! Today’s workout(s) HardStrikes + Burn Sets Bis and tonight after work will be Insane-X - - Hoping the class is still on. Last week it was cancelled due to low attendance.

Laurie: Congrats to your daughter! That’s fantastic and awesome that you can take the time off for both the sectionals and state meet. Nice job with KCM workout! That is such a good workout. I’m sure it felt really good after 5 days. It really is a good one ….. if you are ever in need of a rotation like that. Although I know you put together some amazing rotations on your own! I am SO the same way about my workouts. If I am not getting them in because I am gone or have missed a couple it just gets to me. Can’t wait on the NEW Cathe workouts! The PiYo ones sound good too.

Thelma: That is very smart on their part to have her replacement shadowing Sarah. OUCH :noway: on the
plantar fasciitis. I thought last year I was maybe getting that but after some reading I think it was tendonitis in that same area. I ended up doing some icing and KT tape and magically when we stopped having “running camp” :grumble: up & down the paved hills it healed up. The KT tape was such a support for my situation. Not sure if that would help for you, but maybe? During your workouts just for support. Good that you know what you are dealing with though ….. now through proper care and good shoes here’s hoping it will go away soon for you. Nice job with the ab challenge!

Laurel: Another fantastic combo today! :flowerforyou: Nicely done. I’m glad your body is adjusting once again to a climate change for you. Yes, the low attendance is due to nicer weather I think and kids activities winding down, graduations, etc. Not quite sure. Definitely going heavier to make the very most of the “set”. Especially since it is a lot of Burn Sets. Feels great. I prefer longer weight sections so it doesn’t feel like what I am "used to" doing, but for a few weeks it is good to change it up I think before we start our other rotation! I’ve been adding on a Total Body day if I can on Saturday’s so that feels good too. That’s so great you like the house so much and very nice that your MIL was telling all about how beautiful you’ve made it. Already! I’m sure that is a task you are used to doing with all your moves. A gift really :flowerforyou: good on ya!

    Hello Ladies,

I just got finished with Kelly's 30MTF Cardio Blast Athletic Step and Plyo. Probably will not be checking in tomorrow, going to the track meet right from work.

Thelma, Glad to hear that the gym has someone shadowing your trainer. Hopefully he will be worth the money you spent. Ouch on the foot. Hope that it heals quickly for you. I'm sure that you will be able to find something that you can do not to irritate it more.

Laurel, Dang great workouts. I'm guessing that you are probably sweating a lot more, I have noticed that since it has started to warm up. Even in my basement I'm dripping more than I did in the winter. It is amazing how carrying extra weight makes your joints hurt so bad. I remember having bad knee pain when I was overweight. They actually made noises while I walked up the stairs. :noway:

Tami, LOL about your spin class, she sure sounds like a lot of fun. Jillian posted that she is coming out with a follow-up to Body Revolution also. This one is suppose to be harder. Now I want that one too. I wonder if all these instructors just do this to me on purpose. I hope that one comes out on Amazon so I can use some of my gift cards.

Thanks for all the congrats on dd's qualifying. I think that they should be able to quality for both events for the state meet also. I will let you all know what happens.

    Have a great evening,
    Laurie

Hi Ladies, I had PT tonight and that went well. I graduated to heavier weights and resistance bands. I also rode the spinning bike tonight but at a very low resistance and no standing. So far so good. Last night I decided to try sleeping with my boot on the other foot just to see if it helped. It didn't make a difference but it did bother the other foot because the Achilles tendon has been bugging me all day. I am sleeping with the boot on the right foot tonight and that baby is going to Ireland with me!
I lost 1.3 lbs this week for a total of 21.7 lbs. For a while there I was losing weight every other week. Now all of a sudden is every week so the small goal I set of two lbs has almost been met! LOL

Laurel, what an awesome combo you did today! I'm so jealous! I should be able to do some of the Great Glutes DVD so I may try that tomorrow. I was thinking of doing the Slide n Glide actually.
Laurel, I can't stand humid weather. I would have to crank up the AC for my workouts!
I've read about plantar faciitis taking a while to get better. I am sure my sneakers had lost their shock absorption capability. Lucky for me I had a brand new pair of Asics walking shoes which are giving me great support in addition to my custom made orthotics. I have flat feet so I don't walk barefoot. Tomorrow after work I'll go to a place like Sports Authority to get measured for shoes and hopefully to try some Brooks which I've read are really good for this issue. The last time I did a step workout I knew it wasn't a good idea so for now I'll probably keep doing the Walk Slim DVD's which are low impact.

Tami, I'm glad your class didn't get cancelled! Awesome workouts today. I really hope your Insane-X class doesn't get cancelled! Funny about Katy thinking the class was tough and she is the instructor! LOL
Thanks for the tip on the KT tape. I have seen that tape used on patients when I go to PT but didn't know what it was called. I see that they sell it pre-cut too. I'll pick some up tomorrow. I did search online and found these compression socks that reviewers claimed were their miracle cure in addition to the right shoes. I did order some socks. I'm just getting so worried about our trip. I'm afraid my calves are going to get super stiff during the flight no matter how I much I stretch on the plane.

Laurie, great workouts for you too! I'm sure tomorrow will be a very exciting day for your daughter and you too!
Next week I will actually be training with a different trainer than the one who shadowed Sarah. At this point I just want to use up the 5 sessions I have left. I hope my foot heals soon too Laurie, I'm trying hard not to get discouraged. Thankfully the pain seems to have eased up but today my Achilles tendon is acting up because I didn't sleep with the boot on last night.

    Good night ladies!

Hi Ladies! I had a bit of motivation issues when I got up this morning  and couldn't decide what to do for a workout. So since we were talking about it earlier this week, I reached for Pyramid Upper Body. And I decided to go as heavy as I could with it. :noway: My arms were shaking so badly in the Ab/plank work! But I got through it and it felt great! Really energized me! So I decided to do the 80 minute premix of Cardio Fusion.....and for the first time since we left DC over two years ago was able to do it on an 8" step!! I love sea level!! Of course, it was hot, so it got me sweating. But it felt so very, very good. Not a bad day of workouts given my groaning about it when I got out of bed. :blushing:

Tami, hope your class wasn't cancelled!! Bet that Spin class felt good though. I mean, if Katy thought it was tough.....:noway: . Can't wait to start our new rotation! I am really looking forward to it. I imagine the shorter weight sections seem less intense, but I also think they may be good for really focusing on what you are doing. I admit, at the end of some workouts, my mind is wandering :blushing: and I probably could have better focus.

Laurie, definitely a different feel to working out here than in Colorado. There, I rarely (if ever) was even 'damp' after a workout. Here......not the same! But this is more 'normal' for me given where we have lived, and I like it. And at least we do have AC here, so I get to control the temp a bit, unlike some other places we have lived. Hope you enjoy the track meet.

Thelma, hope you find some good shoes. Brooks are supposed to be good. Oddly, I found Nike (said to be the worst workout shoes on the market!) were the best shoes for me (after using Ryka shoes for years). I even wear Nike golf shoes when golfing, and they are the best for my feet.....for whatever reason. So find something that works best for you. It is odd about me and humidity because I would think growing up in Colorado, I would prefer dry. But I don't.....at all. Don't mind humidity at all. Strange.

Well, I am not sure what my schedule is going to be like for the next few weeks. I leave Monday to return to Colorado and, after the long drive back across the US, will be back here two weeks from then. I hope to check in periodically while I am away but it may not be regularly. But I will be thinking about you all!!

    Afternoon Ladies,

School is out so it has been crazy coordinating appointments, camps, follow ups and then of course my stuff. This week I went to the Ortho surgeon and was given a steroid shot in my knee:noway: but later that night I felt as if I could jump buildings. Yesterday I did Body Shop and my knee felt great and this morning I feel some soreness in my LB but overall feel great. KCM's dvds are perfect as the doctor has me in PT and on meds for the next 4 weeks before he decides to go in and clean out the knee with the scope. I can select her Premixes and focus on the Upper body and Core and use the bike for cardio for the next 8 weeks, no more Burpees.

Laurel- Glad to see that you are settled and back on the workout regimen even with the change in temps.

Thelma- I too need some new shoes or inserts but with my flat feet New Balance are great although I do have a pair each of Nike Shox, and Adidas along with my NB's. Nike is great for those high impact activities but NB's definitely are great at stabilizing. The key to PF is stretching that foot at night and in the morning if you can before getting out of bed, another thing I had to do during my 6 months was use Fit Flops as my house slippers and invested in some great summer sandals in lieu of flip flops with no support.

Tami- Kicking butt as usual in your various classes.

Well hubby returns today and we have a sleepover and then a pool party tomorrow, so busy busy already in the first week.:ohwell:

    Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies & TGIF!!!! :drinker:  :drinker: It is a beautiful sunshine day here … supposed to be that way all weekend. I am hoping to go for a group ride on Sunday. Last night’s class was on and it was a normal Insanity format. We were in the gym and it was tough as ever. Today’s workout was XT Cardio Leg Blast + Burn Sets Tri’s, tonight will be Spinning right after work. Then BBQ with DH when I get home

Laurie: Great job with the workout yesterday! Hope DD does fabulous at her meet and you have good weather for it. She is a lot of fun …. No kidding, do all these instructors have a timeline that they put out new stuff.  Yikes! I bet that new one of JM’s will also be amazing.

Thelma: Congratulations on your weight loss!!!! :drinker:  Isn’t it crazy how that changes . . . you just never know. I’m very happy for you. Class was on and she talked to us all about what we thought for summer months … it will get cancelled for the summer if we don’t have enough attendance but enough of us said we would like it to be an “option” for now so don’t cxl it yet anyway. You’re welcome on the KT Tape. Many of the trainers at your gym should be familiar with it and can help you but if not … You Tube it! That’s what I did.

Laurel: Sounds like that motivation issue was a very short term situation …. Way to rock out another amazing combo! Congrats on the 8” step too. That is awesome. I’m really excited to start our rotation too … it will be a good one I think. I’m glad you said that about your mind wandering. I wonder sometimes with the long workouts you do if that happens. It does to me when I get past that 90 minutes. I start thinking what I have to do for the day, etc….
Be safe on your travels back to Colorado and have a great time at your hubby’s ceremony. Talk to you soon. :flowerforyou:

Michelle: I bet it is a little bit bitter sweet for you when school gets out!  The full time scheduling and coordinating starts right away I’m sure. Great job with Body Shop! Good that it will just be a little clean-up on the knee right!?!? Are you happy with that news? Thanks for the kudos on the workouts. Trying my best, sometimes that snooze button gets the best of me so I pick it up in the classes.

    Have a great weekend ladies!:flowerforyou:

Hi Ladies, Last night I did a VERY lite workout because the plantar fasciitis was acting up. I went shopping for sneakers and didn't find a single pair that worked. Asics don't work for me anymore. At least not their new designs. The pair I'm wearing now which makes my feet feel good is discontinued which means I need to find another brand that works for me. I've read that Brooks has good shoes for PF issues but of course no one near me carries them. I did find the Asics on eBay so I may order another pair of the shoes I have. I wasn't able to find Brooks shoes around here so I ordered them online. I ordered two different pairs from zappos.com because of their free shipping/returns just so I can figure out which one works better for me.

I got some KT tape today but haven't applied it yet. Will do it before I got to bed. I did Great Glutes plus my PT shoulder exercises tonight. The Glutes workout wasn't a good idea for my feet. I do the lunges but kept them shallow. Maybe that was the bad idea part.

Laure, Incredible workouts! Sea level is really good for you! :drinker: Congrats on being able to use the 8" step!
I'm hoping the Brooks Addiction 11 or Arial will be the ones for me. They look a lot like the Asics I'm wearing now. I've never had luck with Nike's. I went to Sports Authority last night and the salesperson helping me said I was quite the challenge! As soon as I stepped into another pair of Asics that is sold as being good for overpronators my PF started acting up!

Michelle, sounds like you're doing a lot better thanks to that cortisone shot!
I have custom made orthotics for my sneakers. No luck with Nike's or NB for me Michelle. I hoping that Brooks are the shoes for my problem feet!

Tami, we've had pretty nice weather here too. A little on the cool side but really, really nice weather. We're going to be in the 70's on Sunday and 80's on Monday and Tuesday.
Wonderful workouts this week. I hope you enjoyed the BBQ with your husband and the group ride tomorrow!
Thanks on the weight loss comments Tami.
I hope your class doesn't get cancelled for the summer!

    Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies ~ Great weekend for workouts!! On Saturday I decided to do a workout I haven’t done yet …. Tony Massenburg “AfterBurn” – I knew what it was going to be like but I was surprised at how tough it was! Felt great & he had a good style to him. Yesterday was my first bike ride of the season and I went with a few others. We rode 50 miles! :drinker: I know, right?!?! Sounds a little intense for the first time out. But it was a beautiful day and about 80 degrees. My legs were feeling it at the end and when I got up this a.m. they were fine, no DOMS at all. I didn’t workout this a.m. (my normal Monday snooze fest) but tonight will be F.A.S.T. class right after work and then I will head home and after dinner take the kids for a walk. They thought we were going somewhere yesterday when I was loading up my bike :ohwell: I felt so guilty. By the time I got home I had to tend to DH. He broke his elbow :noway:  Can you imagine? Hitting your elbow so hard you split the skin and break it. YOUCH!!!!!!! He was jumping out of his boat at the gas station and smacked it on the gunnel on his way down. He also didn't go to the doctor for 24 hrs so he had an infection in there :grumble: He sees an ortho Dr tomorrow a.m. Fingers crossed for good news. He has a fiberglass cast on right now but they might re-cast it. Fishing season will be put on a hold for a while. PLUS it’s his right arm.

Thelma: Sounds like you did what you could do on Saturday & good on ya for looking for good shoes for your PF situation and the KT Tape. Hope your new shoes will help; sometimes that is a huge piece of the puzzle I think. Let me know how that works out for you. Are you going to have one of the trainers tape you up or go the You Tube route?

I pre-ordered Cathe’s RIPPED with HiiT today! :drinker:  :drinker:

Hi ladies! I did my spining bike yesterday and today I did the "Lower Impact" timesaver from CrossFire. That was pretty good and I could pretty much handle it. I was very careful about and I am feeling OK. My feet did hurt today at work as I was on my feet a lot and had to run the length of the building and up the stairs to get to a meeting on time. I didn't' need oxygen!
My feet didn't hurt while I ran but they did later on. I was OK once I massaged them with the tennis ball I keep at work. I am doing the squat and ab challenge. In fact I did some squats and abs doing the sections of CF I couldn't do.

Zappos is awesome! I ordered two pairs of Brooks on Saturday afternoon and the shoes arrived today. Unfortunately they run smaller than Asics so I need to size up. I called Zappos and they did an exchange online and the shoes will be here on Wednesday. Amazing! I almost feel better on the Asics I have and I'm going to be considering getting them from eBay if the Brooks don't workout.

Tami, you were unbelievable over the weekend with your workouts! WOW! :flowerforyou:
I did get the KT tap and I put it on last night. I needed 3 pieces as last night I was having the pain by heel and the arch. Of course pieces two and three didn't stick too well. I want to reinforce them with duct tape! I'll be better the next time. They claim the tape stays on for 7 days but I don't see how this is going to last that long. I'm thinking it needs to be changed every couple of days.
I found lots of good stuff on YouTube about plantar fasciitis and one of them was how to find the best shoes. Excellent little video and tells me the shoes I'm wearing now are the right type. I also found another one for foot exercises to be done before you get out of bed so I've been doing those.
OMG! I can't believe your DH broke his elbow! Poor thing! On top of things he developed an infection on the cut! OUCH! My previous boss broke his elbow too and it was also his dominant side. I hope everything went well with the ortho today! Please keep us posted.
I'm sure your FAST class will be a lot of fun! Enjoy your walk with the kids. They must be loving all the walks. They have a way of making us feel guilty when they see us leaving the house!

    Good night!

Hi Ladies ~ F.A.S.T. was good. I think it is going to be the exact same format each time but she will change up maybe the order or change how we work certain muscle groups. I talked a couple ladies at work into it and they liked it. It’s definitely a class you can make it harder by adding heavier weights (although it’s high reps on everything so you can’t go too heavy).
Tonight will be Insane-X. Most likely inside, we are having a not so good weather day. Cloudy, but warm, then rainy but warm. Speaking of which a huge thunder and lightning storm last night. Poor little Emma. She ended up laying underneath my husbands leg on the couch and finally calmed down. :ohwell: She likes to be in small crammed spaces. That seemed to work last night.

Thelma: Great workout yesterday with the LI Timesaver from Crossfire :drinker:  I saw you had quite a burn there. I agree that Zappos is truly amazing. DH one time had a pair of nice Keen sandels that do really well for his flat feet (I think I mentioned that) at any rate, he wore them for a month straight pretty much because was gone fishing and they had torn apart at the top. Well they exchanged them no problem no questions asked. WHAT?!? So great. They really did fall apart in the first week he just didn’t have anything else to wear and then I contacted them. I currently have a credit with them from a different shoe return and have been thinking about a new pair of workout shoes for myself.

Thanks for the kudos on the workouts ~ they felt great & YES the "kids" are loving the walks. I have an appt. for Emma to get a haircut on Monday. Fingers crossed it goes better than the last time I took her in. It was an awful experience and so I am a little leary to go again. :noway:

DH went to the ortho this a.m. Very good report there!! Turns out he has an old break in the same area according to the x-rays and this is kind of a new one on top of it, if that makes sense. The doctor told him to keep it in a Ace bandage and watch the infection mostly, the bone should heal he said. If not it is a simple surgery but he can wait to have it done (and may not even need it). So yay! :drinker: He should be good to go for his July fishing season coming up. He was ready to call a bunch of clients today and start cancelling those trips.

The KT Tape is tricky on sticking …. I agree. How in the world would someone keep it on that long:huh: Here is one thing I did since you are taping pretty much the exact same area. I put hand sanitizer on my skin, let it dry and then applied the tape. It has alcohol in it so it will take any oils off your skin in that area. It still slid off a little bit sometimes but not completely.
Hope you have had a great day and you get in a nice workout this evening!

Talk to you tomorrow ~ :flowerforyou: Tami

    Evening Ladies,

We finally have our internet back. Sunday we had some really severe thunderstorms, and had a huge lightening strike. Made me jump. It took out our internet, cable and phone. It was repaired last night, but youngest needed to get her homework done. That required the use of the computer. Anyway the youngest made it to the state meet in the 4x200, so we will be heading to that meet on Friday early early in the morning. I did JMBR's Workout 1 and Turbo Fire 30/Stretch 10 on Saturday, gardening on Sunday, JMBR's Workout 2 and Turbo Fire HiiT 15/Stretch 10 on Monday, and since it was a beautiful day her yesterday I decided to do a 30 min. run. Didn't do to badly on the run even though I have not be out since last year. Today was Slow & Heavy Chest & Back.

Youngest has her friend (who is a boy) over right now, so I need to get dinner going. Sorry this is so short.

    Have a great evening,
    Laurie

Hi Ladies, I did the elliptical and trained with a new trainer tonight and I really, really liked him. If I could keep him as a trainer I would buy more sessions but he has a client already at the time I can be there. Tomorrow PT and spinning.
My new Brooks shoes came and don't make my feet feel good at all. The shoes are not supportive at all. I don't know why people claim they're the best shoe ever. I ended up paying a fortune on eBay for the Asics Evolution 6.

Tami, great workout combo today!!! I'm glad your husband is doing a little better today!

Laurie, that sounds like a scary thunder storm! Your daughter is doing great! So exciting! Great workouts for you too! Your youngest is having male friends home for dinner! That is so cool!

    Good night!

Hi Ladies, tomorrow is finally Friday!!!
PT went well today and I am definitely getting stronger. My shoulder blades still have a ways to go but I'm improving. My feet are feeling better. I'm sure it's because of the tape so thanks Tami for telling me about it. I also did spinning tonight and I was able to go faster than before and my thighs are feeling it.
I lost 7/10 of a pound and this brings my grand total to 22.4 lbs. I've surpassed goal #5 which I made small because for a while there I was losing weight every other week and now I'm losing every week! We're also leaving for Ireland on the 14th and I don't want to increase the goal weight right now.
Going for one of those great pedicures I got about a month ago tomorrow after work, hair cut and a movie on Saturday. I was hoping DH wouldn't suggest going to the movies this weekend because I have a lot of stuff to do before our trip but he wants to go see a movie and I couldn't say no. We're going to see Tom Cruise's Edge of Tomorrow. It's gotten really good reviews!

    Good night!
