I started on this journey and as hubby is the one that cooks most of the time he changed his way of cooking and started to lose weight too. I didn't realized that he had got a bit chunky until I saw this picture a few months ago. The before picture was taken right at the beginning of my journey. He has lost a total of 30 lbs and on that picture i was at about 80 lbs lost. I'm now up to 98 lost. We both feel great and enjoy hiking and biking together now. I hadn't done that since I had been a kid.8 -

My husband joined MFP in Feb. 2013, I joined in March 2013. We've lost approx 180 lbs combined. I reached my goal weight in October and have been maintaining since then, he still wants to lose another 20 lbs.
WHOA!!!! You two look AMAZING!! Very inspiring.1 -
This was us at our biggest and then at our lowest weights.
Her: 187 on the left and 125 on the right. Loss of 52 lbs.
Me: 220 on the left and 142 on the right. Loss of 78 lbs
The time difference is maybe 3 years.
She did weight yo-yo dieted a couple times while I did nothing. Then one day I decided to start losing weight. I lost a few lbs and then figured that there had to be an easier way. I found MFP then started researching and studying health, nutrition and the science of it all. I lost more and more weight and she one day decided there was no way I could weigh less than her. She told me that what I was doing with my food and training I had to help her with it also. After that we did it together and learned so much. We now each know what to do be happier and healthier.
Way to go! You both look great, as well as happy & healthy.12 -

We're in it together, I was thinking of talking to him and saying, I can't have this bad food in the house, I eat it! But I didn't want to tell him he had to give it up, then on a long drive he said the same thing to me! And as usual he loses weight quicker than I do, which is always upsetting but now I know. And knowing is half the battle. GI Joe.2

My hubby and I work out together and push/motivate each other. I lost 70 pounds from 2008-2009 and have maintained but just started toning up. He has been up and down for years but recently got serious again. We have 6 kids together. @ChadW4521

Is your wife on board with losing weight? If so, that's half the battle! I never was athletic or liked exercise, so I focused primarily on my food first, then started walking. So I'd recommend starting slow, just asking for a nightly after dinner walk and maybe eventually work up to signing up for a 5K walk (or run!). Honestly, though, I personally don't like to work out with my husband (or anyone really) I'm too self conscious.

Here's ours! The after picture is actually several months ago, but is the most recent I have. It's wonderful doing this together!
We have lost a combined total of 220 pounds.
Wow! Awesome job! You both look great. Btw, I have the same Lane Bryant tank tops and love them! I'm a 18/20 top now, but still like to wear the 26/28 version since It tends to hug all the bumps and lumps in the smaller versions.

@Wizeman22 What worked for me was a mini contest b/c I am competitive. Sell her on the vision of you alls healthy future and reward her for making a good healthy decision. It can be something simple as getting a couple's massage, a nice something that she always wanted, new gym clothes, etc. For me, it was a new bike. I worked my tail off to lose 20 lbs to get a new bike - to do even more exercises. Make it fun and be sensitive about it. I would also show her this thread to show her that couples are working out together and having success. I think your success rate is higher if both partners (even the entire family) are committed to the journey!!! Make sure you report back on your success1
