Sounds like a brutal work schedule, Larro!

Got my saturday cardio in and done. Faded at the 45-minute mark, but that's okay.

I have no voice! Virus settled into throatbox. Anyway, off to daughter's hockey and then home for a rest. My son came down with this virus yesterday, so he is fevered and lethargic. We will all be healthy in time for xmas!

    BOOM!

    Morning Kid's !
Since it's the second morning on a weekend waking up at 5 a.m. for no reason I skipped the "good" in there. Battery in my scale died. So it's also day 2 without weighing myself. Hard on my "OCD tendencies".
My husband's company was brought out by another recently. They waited to tell them till last week. They are all being terminated by the end of the year and then re-hired as new employees at the first of the new year. Can you say stressful? I think the stress has my tummy acting up ( memories of being laid off after 8 and 1/2 yrs. re-surfacing ). You don't want to know. The new company only gives up to 3 weeks vacation a year so some employees are losing a week or two paid vacation now. Thankfully he has only been there 2-3 years.
So I've been retreating to my felt crafts. The first picture is most of the play food I've made so far. vwxy8mqhivrh.jpg

The second is a stove top she can use on the counter when I'm cooking ( with turning buttons ), bags of pasta ( still need to velcro ), page of quiet book, "Doc McStuffin" band aids, and 2 of the 3 owl ornaments I've made so far. mwrt95t4sigi.jpg
A selfie from the other day. Wearing a man's XL sweater I've had a few years ( cozy ). 3q9g34tyuquj.jpg
Well back to my felt projects. I'll try to check back soon. Trying hard to fight the "bahumbugs" !

Hey kids, hope you are well and in great spirits.

I took extreme fit Friday night as it was a happy hour class. The gym is normally empty on Friday's because there are no Instructor lead classes. We are doing a test pilot to see if enough people show up so it will be a part of the regular schedule. I did not like PS number 2. Number 3 has quite a few bad reviews since June 2014. I am a good candidate for PS and each agreed that my loose skin will not go away despite my weight lifting and workout regimen. I will need to be off work for 2 weeks and can't workout for 6 weeks. Not working out for 6 weeks is troubling, yet I will follow doc orders of course. I had to get a dress for Saturday and I spent half the day trying to find a dress. When I did, I picked up a large and it fit except my bat wings didn't fit in the sleeves. No XL, so I had to grab a 1x. The dress was too big except for the arms. I was quite upset, yet told myself in just a few months that will not be an issue.

Kate..sorry about your hubby's job. I am glad he is still employed. I am glad hubby took the scale so you can stop obsessing. You are doing great. I like your selfie.

Beeps..please take care of yourself. You have me worried.

Mzklutch...I am glad you are able to maintain. Enjoy your days off.

CG...Enjoy Hilton Head. Can't wait to hear how it was.

    Larro...You need a vacation.

    Mygnsac..love the video

KellySue...Are you all unboxed and loving your new home? Was Jake's party a surprise?

    All newbies welcome.

Good Monday morning all! Had a busy weekend as always! Jake's party was nice. It was not a surprise as I don't think he would quite understand the surprise part at this point. He was a little overwhelmed at first- the party was at a place called Champions for life. they have trampolines and mats the kids can run and tumble on and bars they can hang from and other stuff. Once he got the hang of it he had fun. He got lots of great presents too!
    - I visited Hubby after the party. He is having some difficulties with tremors still and last night was a really bad night for him- he was very confused and was extremely drowsy and a bit uncooperative. I had a long discussion with the doctor and they are thinking that he is over medicated. They held some of his meds last night and are going to discuss what they can take him off from as a team today. Hoping for some improvements.

larro- lets not rush things!! It doesn't seem possible that he is two already- certainly not ready for him to leave for college yet!

Caramel- No, the boxes aren't unpacked yet, but they are in my spare room so that I can unpack a few at a time and not have to have them all over the place. With everything that is going on in my life right now, it will take me a while to get them all unpacked.

Mzklutch- I have at least put my furniture where I want it, but the boxes will be unpacked slowly as my life is in a bit of turmoil right now with hubs being in the hospital and all. It will get done eventually.

    Have a good day all!

Good morning Cool Kids! I had a busy weekend with shopping, parties and our monthly visit from my step daughter. I took a few cookies off the desert table Saturday night and they tasted heavenly but after I ate them I felt oh so guilty. Not many people at work this week so my 3 days working will be slow and easy. Guess I should research some good smoothie recipe's and make out my grocery list. During my shopping this week I bought a Ninja Professional blender and a wok for Santa to leave me. I can't wait because sometimes I'm not hungry at night and don't feel like eating but I know my body needs nutrients so the smoothie should be the perfect thing.

Beeps- I hope your family starts to feel better before Christmas. I've had a sick family for Christmas and know it's not fun. Will keep you all in my thoughts.

    vhowru - Welcome

Kate - What an amazing talent you have. Love the selfie!!

Larro - Sounds like work is keeping you busy and the leftovers just keep coming. I think I would have to freeze some of that meat or I might sit down and eat the whole lot of it in one sitting. (I'm a meat and potatoes kinda gal).

Curious - I'm jealous that you can ride your bike so far. The roads where I'm at don't have an area to ride and the traffic is horrible. It's like taking your life into someones elses hands when you head out in a car... much less a bike. The highway from my house to my office is called the Crestview 500. People drive like they are driving a Nascar race. Be careful out there!!!

Kelly - Hope your TV was hooked up successfully. I know I don't watch mine often but there are certain shows I like to view and when I don't get to sit down for a few and catch them I feel like I've worked myself to death to stay busy and out of the refrigerator.

    Good morning.

Ugh, it's Monday again. One good thing was the traffic was really light coming in to work today. Lot's of lucky people must be taking the week off.

I came to work on Saturday, and yesterday was getting all my weekend chores done, so I feel like I didn't get much of a break over the weekend. I'll sure be glad when the new year rolls around and the year-end projects I'm working on are behind me. I'm ready for normal again!

Someone on another post explained how to make an omelette (mine usually evolve into ramped up scrambled eggs), so I gave it a try yesterday. It actually looks like an omelette! Apparently I've been cooking them at too high a temperature and not using a lid while it sets. I still need to practice the fold though.

    4gd698s37wli.jpg

For our weekly pot of something I made a pot of pintos cooked in veggie broth with crushed tomatoes, onions, carrots, garlic salt, basil, pepper and a little enchilada season. They turned out really good.

    tm1f3tivizmx.jpg

I noticed today that there isn't any goodies floating around the office. Maybe it's slowing down now that we've hit Christmas week. Then, my boss comes over and gives me a big old bag of See's candy and a gift card to Starbucks. Ha! I've been bad this season. Other than leaving a big bucket of mini candy canes at the end of my desk for passersby, I haven't brought any gift for my co-workers. I guess I'm bah-humbuggy this year.

We've actually had one whole day now without any rain. It was really foggy this morning, but that's about burned off now. Since the rain has stopped, I think my Dad will be taking my dog to the dog park later today. Every time we head for our cars, poor Cisco gets excited thinking he gets to go. Hopefully they make it over there. That dog loves to romp around at the dog park.

Well, better get back to work. You all have a wonderful day, and if you are taking the week off, I'm jealous!!

    Happy Monday Kids.....

You can hear your thoughts in the office today since so many are off for the week or the rest of the year. I can get a boatload of work done. YIPPEEE HOORAY!!!!!

I was asked this morning to submit my before and after photo in our January healthy lifestyle newsletter. I am actually humbled and happy to do it. This is another enlightment for me and puts things into further perspective. You know it's Monday and Extreme Fit is on the docket for me. The gym closes at 2 on XMas eve, and has a specialty class, but nothing on Xmas Day since they are closed. My gym time will be limited this week as a result of the holiday.

MYGNSAC--You are giving Larro some competition with the photos. I want some of the pintos. HMMMMMM HMMMMM. The omelete looks great.

Kelly--I know Jake will remember his special day for years to come, as you will also.

Laura--Smoothies are the best. Youtube has so many smoothie queens on their.

I will check in later. Have a great day everyone.

    Good Afternoon Cool Kids.

Kate, I love the crafts and the selfie. You are looking good.

Caramel, I'm done with work until after the New Year. We have our office party at noon tomorrow, and I will go in to water the plants once a week, but other than that I will have too much free time the next couple of weeks. I've done this for 23 years, so I know it will be slow for a while. Folks eat too much and spend too much over the holidays so they don't have as many parties in January.

Kelly Sue, not trying to rush things. But I know how time flies for me. I remember one of the first events I worked at the Civic Center was a 13 year old birthday party for a daughter of one of my sister's good friends. It seemed like no time had passed, and that girl was bringing in her kids for birthday parties.

Laura, I have froze half of the sirloin. I've been eating a little of the rest of it everyday, including for breakfast this morning. About that drive, you don't by any chance pass a pine tree or two on the way to work, do you? I don't get that far west very often, but when I'm driving on SR20 going toward Panama City, pine trees is all I see.

Mygnsac, that is a good looking omelette. I have trouble folding mine too. How low do you turn the heat? I've been cooking them on medium. Is that too hot?

After many nights of working until after midnight, I was home before 2100 last night. I went to bed at a decent hour and still slept in until after 0900. I messed around and ate breakfast before I did my lifting, so I'm really running late today. But I have done the lifting and over half of my cardio. I'm not sure if I'll get the rest of it done or not. I'm not too good at getting back to it after I sit down.

My food porn is always more graphic and never as tastefully done as Mygnsac's, but here is a breakfast picture anyway. Maybe what she does in food erotica o:)

Hope everyone is having a good day,

    Larro

Larro, slightly under medium is what I was told to cook them at, so it sounds like you got it right. Before I was cooking them slightly under high!!

I got my lifting in-and-done today! Whew! That felt good.

I started a four-day-split program. Something new and different....to stabe off boredom.

    How is your lifting going?

I got my 53 minutes of cardiovascular done finally today. 20 of the minutes was interval running and the other on the elliptical. Believe me I needed to do it considering I have been doing more snacking then I wanted to dang it.
Well KellyS take your time with getting things in order. I am learning that enjoying a journey is better than rushing through the day you may just pick up something along the way. :D At least that's what I am telling myself.
Beeps feel better and family too.
    Larro - food looks great.
Caramel - I hope you find the right and best PS soon.
I hope everyone has a very productive week and happy holidays! We can do this healthily!

In a rush this morning. I woke at 0345 and had a heck of a time getting back to sleep. Then slept late. I'm skipping cardio for now. I have to shower and get on into work for our party. They guys will be grilling the steaks without me, and that is just not right.

We have pouring rain with lightning and thunder right now. We are under a flash flood watch, but the river hasn't come up much yet. It takes it a day or two to catch up with the rain.

I have a bear story I want to share when I have more time.

Hope everyone is having a good day,

    Larro

Larro- a BEAR story- OH MY!! :l :D Can;t wait to hear it!

Two days till Christmas!! I am looking forward to it! Still wishing my hubby was going to be there, but I am going to see him in the morning that day.
I had Jake at the house this morning. Today is his official birthday- we had chocolate donut holes with sprinkles. He ate all of the sprinkles off and didn't eat the donut part- should have just given him a dish of sprinkles!!

I have decided that I will pick up with the gym after the holidays. Hopefully by then things will be a bit more quiet and I will be a bit more unpacked- I am considering switching from the Y to the community rec center in the town I just moved to. If you live in the school district- which I do, the membership price is almost half of what I currently pay with a lot of the same kinds of options and classes. We'll see though. I will have to actually go and check it out- I like saving money though!!

    Have a good day all!

    Hello cool kids,
I really thought I had posted on Friday, so was surprised when I couldn't find it. My apologies.
Life has been hectic since the arrival of my niece and her family. I have been spending a LOT of time in the kitchen, with all their different food restrictions. As nice as it is to have them visit, it will be nice to see them go as well. I am exhausted! On top of all that, I still have had to come to work and have not been sleeping well - thank you menopause! UGH.

I have not been able to get my workouts in either, so am feeling frumpy and grumpy about that.

The first of many family, holiday dinners starts tonight, This one is at my MIL's and Santa drops in for a visit, so the little kids always get so excited.

The pics are great! Katie, that is some detailed work you do. Fun stuff!

Enjoy the holiday season everyone. Merry Christmas. :)

    Good Evening Cool Kids.

Welcome Jeremiah and Guitar Jerry. We are like a fitness coffee club without the coffee. Just drop in and say hello when you have the time.

Kelly Sue, I'm all for saving money too. If you are happy with the new place for half the cost, I say go for it.

Sdereski, love the picture. I like seeing family, but I also like it when they go home.

Now for the bear story. My sister and BIL stay at our river neighbor's guest house at the beach when they go to Mexico Beach. A month or so ago they were down there and met some folks from Eastpoint. {Eastpoint is across the bay from Apalachicola, and just south of Apalachicola National Forest} They got to talking about the bear problem they were having. They said they couldn't sit outside after dark the bears were so bad. And grilling after dark was just not possible. They had called the game and fish folks over and over, but the officers had told them there was nothing they could do unless someone got attacked. Well a 15 year old girl got attacked Sunday night, and if her dog hadn't attacked the bear, there is a good chance he would have killed her. Since Sunday they have killed 7 or 8 bears, and now folks are saying they are going too far. But the bears come in out of the swamp and eat pet food, garbage, and in some cases they are even fed intentionally. They quickly lose their fear of humans, and when that happens they have to be killed. I'm going to try to post a link to the story:

    http://washingtontimes.com/news/2014/dec/22/florida-girl-15-survives-bear-attack-by-playing-de/

I'm doing my AM cardio in the PM tonight. Or at least I was until I sat down. Will try to do enough to get my numbers back in the green, anyway.

    Hope everyone is doing well,

    Larro

Edit: the link doesn't seem to be working, so if you want to read the story, just copy and paste into a Google search.

Happy Christmas Eve morning! It's Friday for me as we are closed on Friday this week so a four day weekend- Whoo Hoo! The kids are coming over later this evening to open gifts at my house and then I will be off to see hubs in the am and then to my parent's house for the remainder of the day. Friday I will head home early to install my internet and wait for the new propane suppliers to install the new tank. I hope they come earlier rather than later in the morning cause I may be able to go do something with my daughter and Jake that day! I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas!! :kissing_smiling_eyes:
