I'm glad I found this thread! I'm 5'9, and it's so inspiring to see taller ladies and their success stories here. I wouldn't say I'm a complete success story yet, but I'm getting there...it's nice to see the transformations. There are so many times where I get discouraged because I feel like my hips are so wide, i'll never decrease in pants size!

Hello! Great to see all these other tall women. I am 5'll". Here is a before photo from July 2011, when I probably weighed around 90 kg (ca. 198lb) and was still thinking of myself as being normal weight, though in reality I was overweight (as the photo makes clear!):

And here is one from February 2012, by which time I was down to about 83 kg (183 lb):

I stuck there for a couple of years and then put 3kg back on, so started again in October 2014 at 85kg. Since then I have lost 9kg. Here is a not-very-good-selfie from today, weighing in at 76 kg (167lb):

I am aiming for around 75kg (175lb), though if it ends up being a bit less I shall not complain!

I'm 6ft with a large frame. I have very broad shoulders and hips, and all my weight goes to my thighs, stomach and upper arms. I'm still 25lbs away from my goal (150lbs) but here are my before and during pics.

    Before - 220lbs
    photo.jpg

    During - 180lbs

And in these I'm 220 in the pics on the left and 175 in the ones on the right:

I showed my husband these pictures. He said it's uncanny how similar we look!! You're taller than me though, I'm only 5'8"

i struggled with an undiagnosed gluten intolerance until i was 20, and as many of you want to say gluten is hooey, it changed my life. my entire body shape changed, my mood, my energy. with the help of living GF and dieting, i was able to get down to 158, my lowest weight since high school.... unfortunately i lost track of my goals, didn't see how much weight i was putting on, went through a rough break up, drank too much.... lost my job and became less active..... now i'm here. i go to mexico in 5 weeks and my boyfriend is coming with. mildly terrified. it's been 3 months now where i've been uncomfortable with my size, but been able to hide it. kicking it into high gear for the next few weeks.

I'm 5'8" and not 'large framed.' I lost 31 lbs and my pix on my profile are at 132lbs - my goal weight. I have been at goal since the beginning of March 2014. I have narrow AA sized 8.5 feet, small glove size but long fingers and my pinky & thumb just meet around my wrist. I don't use a photo sharing program so it's not worth the fuss to put a picture in a thread.

    I'm 5'9"

These were taken before & after my initial weight loss, SW was in the 170's, maybe as high as 180. These mostly show the difference in my face.

More before & after, these were once I got into lifting about a year and a half after the initial weight loss. Same time period for the before pics. tumblr_mud510O5au1qa6ot0o1_500.jpg

Most recent pic (Dec. 2014) - I am now following IIFYM. 10364120_10101636026581475_5563481287498842915_n.jpg

I will lurk about as well. 5'10 here. Did you know that only 5% of the female u.s. population is 5 ft 8 inches or taller. :D

Interesting! I am 5'8", and have 2 friends that are the same! My goal weight is 160. It seems like it's going to take forever to get there! But, i am 40, so it's a lot harder for me. :grumble:
    Always looking for similar friends!

I totally understand what your saying...I'm 37 yrs old and when I started this journey 3 weeks ago, I weighed 289.9 lbs. Now I weigh 271 lbs....my fit pal is a big help...I eat high protein, low calorie and low fat...drink alot of water and for something sweet I drink chocolate almond milk...work out everyday for an hour ....if I can do this, cause I totally hate working out, but it helps you burn though fat grams and calories off...you can do this...and never forget...you're not doing this alone....have a GREAT journey :-)
