You are claiming to defy the laws of physics. That would require some proof beyond your repeated assertions of "because I said so".

Very simply now: a calorie is a unit of measurement. What you're saying is tantamount to saying that an inch is not an inch. You're a woman. You should know better.

I didn't read all of the comments here because there's a lot but this is a bit ridiculous. 2000 is a very generic number and that doesn't work for everyone. I am only 5'1" so 2000 calories a day will, in fact, make me lose weight. The reason I started gaining weight at all is because I ate too many calories, that's just science. You take in too many calories/energy than your body needs and you gain weight. That's pretty simple. I have successfully lost 25 pounds (I know my ticker doesn't match up, I lost some not on MFP) and the ONLY way that has happened was through calorie restriction. I certainly don't eat under 1200 cals because that's just ridiculous but I don't get hunger pangs when I eat about 1400. And 2000? Forget it, I would be right back to where I started.0
