    Tuesday here.
Tom's Inner Circle is for body-builders and former body-builders like me. He says to have Sunday to have higher calories and have family time but walk. Suits me and keeps me motivated
Saw Brian the Sports Nutritionist and he is HAPPY that I have shed body fat, gained muscle and shed viseral fat. He said "Time to stop slugging in bed and do the 2 mile walk, and do more cardio. See him again in 2 weeks.
Food today is 1839 and training is 748 cals: 2 mile walk, Jeannette's Circuit A for weights and Cardio kick-boxing.
Yesterday I burned 519 calories and went to visit neighbours to see Honey dog.
NEED to move on and remember Mildred beagle with LOVE not sadness.

The show with the twins was just called The Patty Duke Show. Thanks, Beth, for looking up when Sesame Street started. I knew that not only was I too old for it, but so was my brother who is seven years younger than I. We didn't have TV when I was a toddler, but I remember him watching Romper Room and Captain Kangaroo. My father ruled the TV when we did get one, so my favorite shows were The Real McCoys, The Virginian, and Bonanza.

Along with the theme for the day, I also loved Captain Kangaroo; my mother would have me recite the 'Pledge of Allegiance' for her guests. I couldn't figure out their amusement for the longest time. (We were all Canadian) My later favourite was Batman (Adam West)
Thanks for the jokes & welcome!

Chris – what a great sounding weekend!

Beth – OMG!!! It would kill my business if I was quarantined… oh my – feel better quick!

Sylvia – the mailman joke cracked me up!

    Ellefenton – LOL!

I learned the pledge in the “old” way without the under god, and tried to correct my first grade class. Ops.

    March goals:
    Walk every day
    Log all bites everyday
    Eat slower
Plan and do a fun thing every week

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding.

    Good Evening Ladies,

Katla, sorry to hear that you have a persistent headache. Feel better soon. You talked about the bike seat and that a new one is expensive. Maybe it’s just me, because I haven’t shopped much the past few years, but everything seems very expensive lately.

NM Margaret, you are smart to not overbook yourself. I am much the same way. They wanted me to be a committee chairman at the Ladies of the Moose for next year, which would have required two charity events and two money making events. This year we had 7 or 8 committees and next year there will only be four, doing all the work as last year. I have just accepted a position on the board of our HOA and decided I didn’t need to take on both. I will take a position at the Moose, helping check in the ladies for the meetings. I’m looking forward to that because it will help me learn the names of those that I don’t know.

Yannie, sorry for your results. Bummer! Good advice on paying attention to our bodies. My friend that I took for surgery two weeks ago had the same thing but beside her nose. It will hardly be noticeable when totally healed but she was black and blue for a while, because she is a bleeder and bruises if you look at her. She had just this little bump for months and finally decided to have the dermatologist take a look at it. I know you want to get this behind you.

Heather, glad your DH liked the book. Has he made editing notes or just enjoyed the read? You need to have more confidence in yourself. I’m sure it’s a great book.

Mary you are doing great! Just keep away from the shovel and the food.  :#

Beth, I knew Sesame Street was later. I graduated from HS in 1965. (OMG that sounds like a thousand years ago and I remember it like yesterday.)

Elle, welcome to the forum. This is a very supportive and informative group of ladies. I hope what ever the reason you are off work, is improving. This does work for losing weight and it sounds like you are on the right track with exercise. Come often and keep us up to day. We are happy to have you join us.

Toni, how great that you lost the pounds and are approaching Onederland. It is wonderful and I still have a hard time typing the right weight (starting with a 1). Way to go!!!

Terri, sounds like the hand bike is doing some good. You made me laugh at you laughing about your lazy weekend. :p Glad the snow didn’t last.

Tina, you drive an hour and a half each way for work? Wow, I’d have to really love my job.

Sylvia, so glad to get a health update. It seems like it’s been a while. I hope you get good news from the doc tomorrow but I’m trying to figure out how you are going to get everything done? Can you buy a cake at a bakery? Good luck with the new doctor. Hope they work out to be fantastic. Loved both the jokes.

Beth, how awful that you are so sick. I hope it passes quickly. Not the way to lose weight, but good for you.

Pip, I feel for you. I hate being cold but you know shivering does burn calories. :s

Fancy, there was a movie with that theme and it was “The Parent Trap”. They did a remake of it years later, too.

Chris, how wonderful to have a BFF like that and I’m glad you had a great visit.

Leslie, I hadn’t seen you talk about Brian the nutritionist in a while, so glad to know you are still working with him. You are really working at this and have to be proud. I know I’m proud of you as well as inspired. (*)

Kim, you learned the pledge without the “Under God” in it? I didn’t think they started that until years later? Shows what I know.

Welcome to any Newbies that I missed. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.

Had a pretty calm day here with rain on and off. Tomorrow I want to go to Hamrick's because they are having 20% off for Seniors. Hope I can find some bargains.
    Have a great weekend, ladies.

My word #1 is savor. I have to slow down and savor every bite.

#2 is opportunity. Each day offers new opportunities for good health and happiness if we just look for them and choose them.

    I've caught up to yesterday...

I remember My three sons, I dream of Jeannie, Petticoat Junction, Bonanza, Gilligan's Island, F-troop and of course Sunday's just weren't Sunday's without Wonderful world of Disney. We only got 3 channels at the best of times and usually only 1 really well. We used to clothes hangers on the antenna to get better reception.

Mary from Minnesota: Excellent results on the measurements and weight loss.

    Yanniejannie
: So sorry to hear about your cousin...I hope that those wonderful memories bring you comfort.

I sure didn't get much done this weekend, I think I really needed the rest as I took on way too much last week. I managed to fulfill commitments I made, but I'm going to need to be more careful to manage what I take on. being totally wiped out for 2 days is not good.

Thought for the day: Have patience with all things, But, first of all with yourself - Saint Francis de Sales

Cary - that is such a good quote. I am always the last person I have patience with. I'll work on that.

Heather - Did I ever congratulate you on your book? So glad you are finished with round one. You inspire me.

Sylvia - the birthday party sounds like fun. Remind me again. Is your son a single dad? What happened to the dgk's mom? You do so much for the kids. Such a special relationship!

TV shows - oh, my you all are remembering so many good ones. Our neighbors got a color TV and we neighbor kids used to go to their house to watch Bonanza. Growing up in Kansas I loved all things western and pioneerish. We used to play "pioneers" all the time and make campfires in the trashbarrel in one girl's back yard. Yikes! had to be careful when aerosol cans came out. Did any of you watch Gunsmoke? It was one of my favorites!

Welcome to all the new ladies. I hope you stick with us and give us glimpses into your lives, loves, and memories.

I'm praying for you that are sick or troubled right now. Several of you need a "WTG"! with your weight loss, training, and triumphs. You get one from me!

    Have a good night.

:D Mary from Minnesota, congrats on your great weight lifting accomplishments.

:D Pip, I've been extra cold ever since I lost weight. Now I wear long underwear (tops and bottoms) along with a turtleneck and another shirt and wool socks and often an extra fleece jacket. It's just my new "uniform". I'd rather wear extra clothes than be back at my old weight.

smiley-happy110.gifHeather, I found a copy of your book, "The Trouble With Herbert" and read it. I loved it. How interesting that there is so much food in your story. You must have worked closely with the illustrator because the text and pictures flow so well together. You are very clever.

:D I've had my usual Monday of dog walking and chores around the house. Now I'm waiting patiently for the start of Dancing With the Stars. I thought all the pairs were good so whoever goes home will be a disappointment.

God mom Kim - sorry to hear about your blood pressure being so high at your appointment! running up and down stairs and all around probably had a lot to do with that. it is too bad that they could not have taken it again.

Drkatiebug - Patty Duke! Thanks, do you remember the song that they sang? I know it was about. ..they looked a like and sometimes even talked a like. ..

Chris in MA - glad you made it back safely! Snowing here a little bit today as well. It sounded like you had a great time with your friend. It is nice you were both on the same healthy path.

Lesley - did I read that right? You were a body builder? If so you can be an asset to us ladies that are just starting to lift. I really enjoy kickboxing with Kenpo X. What do you do? (((HUGS))) for Mildred.

Janet - lol shovel and food conquered! I kept myself busy writing invitations for DMIL 90th birthday party. You do know that it's not the weekend?? Lol

Carey - I loved watching Disney movies, my DM would make popcorn and we would split bottlesof Pepsi! Do you remember Tomasina the orange cat? I cried and then was so happy at the ending.

    Bwcetc - great news!

    Have a great night everyone!

Oh you guys have gotten me thinking about more shows I watched as a kid, not a young one but later on. I don't think anyone has mentioned Ponderosa. I enjoyed the show but I never liked the lady who played the daughter. She was to prim, her hair so-so. Now Heath, he was handsome! My three sons, Flying nun, Gidget, then later on came I dream of Genie, oh, what was the name of the real pretty lady who was married to the guy that her Mom could never get his name right. She was a witch. And what do the kids watch now? I'm sure some of the shows are good but I don't like all of the supernatural stuff. Watched Dancing with the stars tonight, was so sorry to see the couple be eliminated especially after they got good scores tonight. It's all part of the game.

Heather, yes, I looked up where you are going. The beaches look wonderful. Are you going to any of the castle ruins? What will the weather be like? I have always had a dream of going to Ireland but I don't really know why. I think it is just the romanticism of it.

Started our taxes today. I have all the totals of pharmacy and medical charges added up. Pretty high this year but between Charlie's stay in the hospital, the stents, the doctors bill for it, his orthotics, tooth extraction and then building a bridge for his mouth, he has some big bills. By looking at the bill, his stents were put in Feb 8th. The previous year he didn't make it to a year before he had to have 2 more. So this year has been better. His appointment with the cardiologist is tomorrow. He really needs to be off of his medicine you have to be on for a full year after a stent is put in. He has never had a colonoscopy and he has had such a drastic change in his bowel habits that he needs to have one done. But when it was scheduled before they were asking him to go off of this medicine for a full 10 days. Back to the taxes, now we have to figure out all the mileage. I keep a calander and write down any, and I mean any time we have anything medical done, even if it is lab work. And then I use my yellow highlighter over that entry. At the end of the year I put that calendar in my tax box and add up all those entries. I'm glad we have the same family doctor although he is the furthest away. We live on the side of town that all the businesses in town think they need to move to so all of his other doctors are close by.

Yannie, so sorry about your biopsy, I hope that your worrying will be a lot more than what is going to be to get it taken care of.

I picked up my clothes that I had put on hold for me last week at Christopher and Banks. I am still not used to the fact that noe of the tings I bought is a cute little jeans jacket. It's a short one, to be used as fashion more than functional so that idea is foreign to me. I think something like a little decorative thing is for the young people. But I am worth it.

Hello all you wonderful friends. Hope you had a pleasant evening. Made it to page 37 and have to call it a day. Play catch again tomorrow.

yanniejannie - The word biopsy sends shivers through me. Praying for a good result.
I did talk with DH's doctor but no matter the tests or the results he is governed by our privacy laws and can only inform me if DH consents. Not likely as DH acts like a secret agent and everything is on " A need to know basis"

Lillian - Thanks. DSIL would have been happy to go to the Home show but the men were not co-operating. I was TRYIng to be on best behaviour.

Pip- My kids (well, 2 of them) are worried about their Dad but they also don't like what is happening here. My baby is 33 so we are not staying together for the sake of the kids. I will keep the counselling appointment no matter what happens. I have been seeing my own counsellor once a month for quite a while. This guy is a couples specialist.

Sylvia - I am looking forward to going to Cinderella with DD. She thinks she and the girls can go as Princesses ( an excuse to wear her new Belle costume) and I can go as Fairy God Mother. Not happening. I have the costume but it has a corset back. DD helped me get ready to wear it to work for Halloween. I didn't breathe for 5 hrs. and then I got home and no one to help me escape its' clutches. Oh the contortions to get undone and out. Next costume may be pyjamas.
Keep those jokes coming, Lord knows I can certainly use them.

Sassy - I didn't hazard a guess but pen wouldn't have been my first pick. Isn't it fantastic to have such a good friend?

Katla - Wow! 45 years! Almost unheard of these days . You give me hope.

Thank you all for being so supportive and sharing your wisdom with me.
Fort Saskatchewan was better than expected. DSIL had supper waiting for us and it was very veggie heavy which I quite enjoyed. She has Parkinson's so she is trying to eat less protein and starches. It has really progressed since last I saw her. I did some basic research for her on my phone. They don't have a computer of any kind. Came up with some changes to diet that could help more and some supplements that are suggested.
Tried to source the Lift Spoon for her but $295 USD was a little shocking to both her and DBIL. Looked up and wrote down #s and address for Parkinson's society in Edmonton. I am hoping they utilize that resource.
We went over to our nephew's house. The way he talked I thought he owned it but not the case. I always have a hard time with him. He hasn't worked a day in over 11 yrs. He has been a stay at home Dad but his daughter is 9 now. I sound judgmental I know but I feel if his wife is going to support the household then he should keep it clean, etc. and cook but that is not the case. I find myself wondering what he does with his days. He was very happy to see us.
Supper on Saturday after I found a list of some of the better restaurants in Edmonton was at the Ricki's in Fort Saskatchewan. 3 out of 4 of us were not happy with the meal.
Drove home Sunday and topped off the weekend with a movie.
Best stop now as head is ready to hit keyboard.
See you on the flip side.

Woke up early so just posting a couple of things. :)

Barbie - Aw thanks! :flowerforyou: When I wrote the book I used an A5 notebook with the spiral at the top. I wrote out the text as it would be on the page and then scribbled in figures and the graphics so I knew how it would fit. When I typed it out I did the same thing on A4, sketching in figures and graphics around the text. The illustrator, whom I never met, just made my drawings better! ! ! ! I had sent a page of character sketches. The school was based on my sons' which was an old Victorian building with lots of stairs. I must say I was surprised when it did so well in the States. Perhaps its because it has a good moral. :D There is a sequel, Herbert Saves The Day, but, as is often the way with sequels, it didn't have quite the same success. My children's books went some way towards healing the disappointment I felt about my career as a writer for adults and they meant I could teach creative writing in a college, but they never really filled the same space in my ambition and yearning.

Janet - he has been making pencil notes for typos and some comments. He was an English teacher and published text book writer. He has written three self published books himself. He has pointed out a couple of inconsistencies. One of the peculiarities of my feelings about my adult novels is that I have not shown them to many others at all. They meant so much to me that I was afraid of getting my self esteem flattened. I squirreled them away when they didn't get published and that kind of ate away at me. I have felt that something is missing in my life without my writing. I was just so afraid of ridicule and dismissal. I was tired of publishers nearly taking things and then rejecting them. Depressed. I stopped writing. :'( Even if a lot of people don't like this book because of the subject matter I am glad I have brought it out of the cupboard. It is what it is and I am glad it is holding its head up high at last! ! ! !

Must take a cup of tea up to my editor. <3

Alison ... the nebby neighbor on Bewitched was Mrs. Kravitz! Oh my ... I watched more TV than I realized!

Trying for day 3 of on target eating ... today was my 600th day of logging on MFP ... if I had been consistent, I should be at goal ... sadly, nearly half of those days I have been off the rails ...

    Have a great day ladies!

Beth, 600 days of logging is amazing! You will get there!

Heather, I so admire your creativity. Love hearing about your writing and always interested in the foods you cook. An extended family member is currently working on her doctorate in poetry. She is having a very difficult time finding a job in her field as only a handful of colleges here offer courses in that.

As I got older, I loved Route 66 and Surfside 6. My dad wanted everyone in bed early and sometimes I had to sneak to watch tv at night. Also loved The Alfred Hitchcock Show, the Outer Limits, and Dr. Kildare. Did I mentions that I was a tv addict at an early age? LOL!

My goad yesterday was to take a bath and put on clean clothes. Goal accomplished! I actually walked a mile so am proud of that. Knees do not like walking down hill. Ugh!

Good morning! My appointment yesterday went well. I am on the same schedule: 6 months for oncologist check in and 1 year for mammogram. Now, I can put it behind me for bit.

Eating has been horrendous the past few days. Stress eating all around! I have pre-logged all of my food today so I think the stress eating is over and I can begin yet again on this journey. The depression has lifted over the past few days. Some warmth and sunshine made a world of difference, but resolving some conflict with a friend has made an even greater one.

I've skimmed all of the posts and have pretty much caught up. As far as television, we didn't have one until I was seven, I think. Well, one that worked consistently, anyway. We had gotten a roto-tenna (have no idea how to spell that) that didn't work very long, so my dad put the antenna on a big long pole beside the back porch so we (me, mostly, since I was the youngest) went outside and turned the antenna manually while someone in the house yelled when to stop. We got, at max, three channels and none of them were ABC so I didn't watch a lot of the shows that other folks did. My mother was also very strict about how much television was watched--we didn't even turn it on without permission. The first I heard of Sesame Street was in my high school cafeteria where a bunch of the popular boys would set up around the tiny TV at the edge of the room and watch Sesame Street during their lunch period. I finally banned my son from watching it after an episode on racism, not because I was opposed to the premise, but because of the name calling that the characters did. My kids were NEVER allowed to call anyone derogative names and I refused to let them watch TV shows that exemplified it. I was a TV nazi--I always thought kids should be using their imaginations instead of sitting in front of the television so they were limited to one hour per day. I still rarely watch television. I much prefer to read!

Alison - You have a gift that surpasses any talent! You are compassionate and giving, something I have to work hard at. Don't diss yourself!

I'm off to get some work done. I hope everyone has a great day!

Toni, yes, my son is a single dad. The kids mom was in jail for a while because she shot a guy during a home invasion robbery that was part of a drug deal. She was one of the robbers/drug dealers. Anyway, she turned states evidence against her then husband and got out of jail on probation. She's living with her mom and dad and doesn't have a job or anything. So my son got full custody. He was letting the kids visit her, but that stopped when she started playing mind games with the kids and upsetting them. He is disabled with a very serious lung/liver disorder. They live in a TINY two bedroom apartment and have a very small disability income and food stamps and that's all. So it's really tough for them. He needs all the help he can get. And I didn't get to see the kids at all for six years, so I'm treasuring the time I get to spend with them now. My husband loves being a grandpa, too, and the kids adore him.

This morning it was thundering and lightening when I woke up, and raining just a little, but it had stopped by the time I got there to take the kids to school, so we walked again. It was really nice. Cool and crisp air, and everything smelled so clean. The kids were all in good moods, so we had a nice walk to school.

All this talk about tv shows when we were little made me remember too. I watched all of the ones you have mentioned, plus some of the local kids shows. The Wichita station had a show called "Major Astro", which was a guy dressed as an astronaut in a set decorated like a space ship. He would talk and then play cartoons. I don't remember which cartoons, but I think they were things about outer space or something. Anyway, I loved Major Astro! Many years later, when I was in my late 20's, I was working in an art supply store in Wichita, and he came into the store. He was really old, and really drunk, and still milking that Major Astro personna. He insisted on signing autographs, even though several of the kids working there didn't even know who he was. It was a little sad.

I also loved My Friend Flicka and Sky King. And Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett. And there was one about a guy who drove an air boat in the everglades, but I don't remember the name of that one. My older brother went to Wichita once to watch a taping of Zorro, and came home with a zorro mask and cape. We were so jealous.

I'm wearing my jeans today after wearing nothing but sweat pants for two months. So far it feels fine. No tummy pain.

Well, gotta get busy. Have a great day!

    Sylvia

Oh, and Car 54 Where Are You, and Docktari (sp?) - the one about a vet in Africa and his family and all the wild animals. And Beverly Hillbillies. Some of those were at a later date, but not sure how late. All those years get mixed up together in my mind.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding.

Good Morning Ladies, Let us Be the reason someone smiles today.

Carey, don’t beat yourself up about resting. Especially if you stay busy and active, your body needs time to rest and recoup. You should actually plan those days for yourself. You are doing great!

Mary, thanks for telling me it’s not the weekend. *Tee hee hee *Now I know why none of my TV shows were on. Being gone for 3 days obviously threw me totally off the track. And I’m not even totally senile yet. :)

Joyce, my DH had a wonderful Cardiologist in Charlotte before we moved. Not so much on bedside manner but very highly respected in the medical community. He told DH to never, never go off his Plavix (now on Effient) before a procedure, no matter what they told him. He said if there was bleeding, they were in a position to handle it but the effects of going off it, could be far worse. His cardiologist here said he didn't think it would hurt to go off for 2 or 3 days. They both keep him on it long after his stints and by-pass. Just an FYI.
Your new jacket sounds great and yes you are worth it! You go girl and just flaunt it! ;)

Sharon, I think going as the Fairy God Mother would be so cute. Can you wear the dress and just have the corset tied really loose? (Just thinking) I can't imagine how you got out of it by yourself.

    Heather
, I’m just so proud of you for bringing the book back to life. I hate that you pay attention to anything negative because you know we can never please everyone. I’m just sure that many will enjoy it and that is what I hope you can focus on. *Hugs*

Peachstategal, good for you on meeting goals for yesterday. We can only take life one day at a time. Great walk too.

Sylvia, go glad you can wear your jeans again. Things are looking up, finally.

Welcome to any Newbies that I missed. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.

I have to get moving. Going to do exercises then get cleaned up to go to lunch with DH. After that, hopefully I’ll hit the sale. Oh yes and the weight I lost over convention has stayed off. Yea!!!
Have a wonderful day, my friends, whatever part of the week this is. I love you all. <3

My word #1 is savor. I have to slow down and savor every bite.

#2 is opportunity. Each day offers new opportunities for good health and happiness if we just look for them and choose them.

It's all part of the game.

you are thinking of The Big Valley, where the girl was prim (a young linda evans). Ponderosa was the ranch they named from another series, Bonanza

Joyce - I'm glad that you bought yourself that jacket! You deserve to have something cute and stylish with all the hard work that you have been putting in!

Sharon - glad that you had a better time than expected at your DB, it is nice to go somewhere and be able to eat healthy.

Beth - congratulations on 600 days! That shows a lot of dedication and commitment to change. Good for you!

Carol - yea! I am glad that your appointment went well. I remember those days of having to go outside and turn the antenna and my parents yelling back and forth...

Sylvia - awesome that you are feeling well enough to put your jeans on! I forgot all about Car 54!

Janet - it's a good thing when you don't know what day it is! That always was my first sign that I was really on vacation!

Well I have a busy day today. Driving my DSIL to the repair shop to get her car evaluation. Then shopping, lunch, and back home! Have a great day everyone!

Oh, and Car 54 Where Are You, and Docktari (sp?) - the one about a vet in Africa and his family and all the wild animals. And Beverly Hillbillies. Some of those were at a later date, but not sure how late. All those years get mixed up together in my mind.

Did the African Vet have a cross-eyed lion in it named Clarence? I would get my nieces & nephew crawling around acting it out (we were close in age) and David was always Clarence.

So I headed off to work yesterday, sat down to do my timesheet, checked to make sure I had used all my vacation days before yearend on March 31st…… I had planned to take Wed off as a vacation day to look after my DGD while her parents work, that should have finished my annual vacation…. AND…I can’t count….!!!! …… So I am home for the rest of the week. Unplanned vacation. I am a little rigid with self so this has thrown me into a little bit of a tizzy. Good grief… I may be here checking on everyone a lot!!! No…. better make a list and get caught up on things so I am free for scrapbooking retreat in the end of April.

Oh I remember Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, Beverly Hillbillies and Walt Disney.

Pip – you spoil your Floyd man!! And I don’t remember when Sesame Street started either. My kids watched it when they were young – and I will be 56 in July.

Yannie – thank goodness your “pimple” has finally been looked into. I have a couple of mystery items too… My Dr. has brushed it off. I think I will take your advice and be very persistent with her for a referral to a dermatologist.

CarolNC – my big squeeze is in three weeks. They are watching a “fat lump” that has been biopsied and marked. I have had 6 mammograms in 3 years. This one should be my all clear one, I hope …..

TNToni – congrats on your loss at TOPS.

Terri – isn’t that just terrible that the sugar snap peas can’t call louder than the pretzel/cheese things!! For me it is cheezies. Oh wait!! They don’t have Hawkins cheezies in the US. Only in Canada hey! Sorry people ....Cheezies are so bad for me.

Sylvia – good to know you are feeling better. The birthday party sounds like it will be so much fun. And girls so do love glitter. My little DGD has soo many tutu’s 

Katla – my persistent headache went away when I cut out added sugar. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Tina – Like you I drive a far distance to work – only an hour though. I have 38 years with the company but have only made that drive for the last 19 years. I like my job but Yes retirement is coming.

Carey – Some days we just need to learn to say no the polite way….. back a few posts I seen some advice I am going to try. “Let me check my calendar” and “That doesn’t work for me right now”

Toni in Tennessee – YES I watched Gunsmoke. So many of these shows I remember!! 

Barbie – I watched Dancing with the Stars for the first time last night. All I could keep thinking was …. I am so jealous – they are such beautiful graceful dancers!! AND look at all those calories they are burning!!!

Joyce in Indiana – Bewitched….. I remember that show. Awe Grandmaille you have a great memory to remember those names.

Sharon in Edmonton – Sounds like you were on your best behaviour. So good of you to find some support for DSIL's Parkinson’s. Strange disease it is. A friend of mine got it when he was 52, yet my uncle showed no signs of it until he was 80. Go figure. I hope everything goes well with you this week (((hugs))).

Sorry for the long post everyone - but I am slightly procrastinating - remember at the beginning - these are unscheduled days at home - I Didn't HAVE A PLAN ...

Okay - I am going - I told myself I would walk on my rebounder during the Marilyn show. Then my exercise would be 1/2 done for today. the other half will be a walk outside with my doggie darling... sun is shinning and the snow has stopped.

    later everyone

and just wanted to add that my being cold unfortunately, is not due to my weight loss, I've ALWAYS been that way, even when I was at my heaviest, i'm sad to say.

today it was really raining! I am glad that I like riding in the rain...
