This doesn't make sense. Are you saying that if I eat excess calories, but it's the "right" macro, it will wind up being muscle?

Because that sounds a lot easier than weight lifting and actually doing work. Please tell me more.

So I could just eat protein only and not work out and gain just muscle? I've been doing it wrong all this time.

Sorry I didn't meant to confuse anyone :)
Im just trying to simplified things up so everyone that is currently working or just started to work on their journey won't over think stuff.

1.Only calories in and calories out determine weight change, nothing else.

2.Macro ratios (P/C/F) determine if the weight change is due to fat or muscle.

What kind of macros do I eat to lose fat?

Yes, and training plays no role in determining body composition.

So if I just lay in bed all day, only getting up to get food and do the essentials, if I eat the right macros, I won;t lose any muscle?

What is this magical macro you speaketh of?

" Your people " should only take the first half of your advise, because the second half is wrong .

I'm pretty sure if I only eat 600 cals/day of just lean protein, I'm still going to lose muscle (if I'm understanding your message correctly).
