at work right now.... just had a meal at 1:00 am.... where should i log it...? yesterday... or today... (finally attached to yestarday as a dinner) also... my pacer is on since yesterday at 6pm and will go off at 6am... so those calories burned will point to yesterday... ha ha... what a tread

What a lot of people on the graveyard shift do is set up their diaries by hours instead of by meals... So if I ate at 1am (which, ironically, I did do!) I'd log it in my diary under "12a to 4a". Similarly when I have lunch in a few, I'll log it under "4a to 8a"

Well... i work night shifts ocasionally... and yes... i use meals... not hours... my diaries start at 6am (6to9, 9to12, 12to3 and so...) and finish by midnight... so, from midnight to 6 am theres a blank space... we all should be slepping by that time. My respects for all the night shifters... its an ugly schedule but someone has to do it.

Push it out to four hours at a time instead of three hours and you will make it 24 hours. (12-4, 4-8, 8-12, etc.

My first chance to sit down tonight. Can I take a nap after all that?

I'm a fan of naps lol.

I switched over from meal names to four hour blocks of time. Can't wait to see how this works for me. Keep me honest about how often I'm actually eating too.

    @javimendoza It's all personal preference.

I used to log all my meals for the following day as I got up at 8PM, started work at 11PM, so the majority of my meals were the following day. It did get kind of cumbersome which is why I switched to the midnight-midnight scheme. In the end, it doesn't matter as long as you're accurate.

We just went dead after midnight. It gives me a chance to get caught up on records. Any yes, I did get to toss in a quick nap around 3 AM. I hate falling asleep at my desk but I love getting a nap in. I love working Emergency Medicine! Where else could you get in a quick nap at work?

Yeah it was a steak but I had already eaten most of it before I decided to take that pic.

I threw the carrot in because, well, mfp would ban the pic otherwise;-)

Night shift again this month...but I've been so busy with stuff going on that I haven't been online. Then off the first 2 weeks of May, but will return to day shift. Trying to get myself back on track! It's been a real struggle the past couple of months

Not really, here I am up at 1am. Ugh. I can't seem to get any sleep at night anymore when I'm off, and of course, can't get anything done around here either!

Home Depot and Lowe's should be open 24 hours.

Harbor Freight's got a sale going on this week... I wonder where I'll be spending vacation other than in front of that grill. :)

I can't sleep on my nights off, either. The closest 24 hr grocery store is 25 miles away, not very convenient. I do a lot of laundry on my nights off :-) And binge watch Marvel TV shows

13 hours in to a 62 hour shift. Thank goodness for quick naps. It was pretty good last night but it's pretty slow this morning. It must be the good weather. Everyone is out in the mountains or at the lake.

Beginning of World Laboratory Animal Liberation Week. This is going to be a long week. I've only been here an hour and it feels like I've been here for 3. I've got my more annoying coworker with me here tonight doing patrols. I don't wanna be here with the thunder and lightening and the rain. I want my bed and a good book or a nap.

At least with this crappy weather we shouldn't have many people trying to break into the facility to try and 'liberate' our animals.

@missliss4763 A DISPATCHER?! I work for the University of Texas Police Department-Houston and I LOVE our dispatchers and the county dispatchers are great! I am CONVINCED you guys are magic. The magic, safe, calm voices at the other end of my radio. You save lives! I don't even know you and I love you.:heart:

The worst part, is some of them scream about 'freeing' the chimpanzees we have. They don't even REALIZE that a LOT of the chimps we have are from people who bought them to be pets(stupid people) and from other labs that kept them in small(I mean no room to stretch out) cages. They were not socialized and have mental problems.

If they come in here and try to 'release' them, they could be seriously injured or even die. Especially considering grown chimps can be 6-8 times stronger than an average human male.
