Hi hi blue!! I am so motivated, the challenge really helps. I gained a bunch of weight back during the holidays, can't wait to see it melt away. I plan on doing 1 hour of cardio tomorrow. Problem is when I get the severe hunger pangs, I feel weak and headachy. It's really hard to work out that way. If anyone has suggestions on how to get through the "withdrawl" symptoms of the first few days, keep me posted!

Do you eat anything 1-2 hours before you work out? Preferably a combo of good carbs and some protein. It doesn't need to be a big meal or anything - I usually have a piece of fruit & some cottage cheese. A glass of milk would be good, too. I don't think those are "withdrawal" symptoms, that sounds like your blood sugar is too low. (IMO)

When I wake up I have an apple or banana and then I work out, shower and then eat breakfast.

Grrr :grumble: I was halfway through my Kenpo and my bf called to tell me he was halfway to my house to pick me up and take me to get stuff to fix my car. So I have to run and grab a shower before he gets here. Could've burnt twice the calories today! Oh well, still managed to get in 30min, and 256 calories burned. Maybe I'll make him take a walk with me today to make up for it.

I like the new posts also - It keeps me motivated. I have a Polar 6 and absolutely love mine. I did alot of research on them and found polars are the best rated. It just depends on how much you want to spend. When I first got mine, I was shocked to learn that I was burning way less calories than I thought  But I'm extremely happy I bought it and have adjusted to the calories burned - I just have to work harder. (I'm with RachVR6 - after awhile you don't even notice the strap anymore)
  • thanks for all the great help! Today I had so far 2 morningstar chicken patties and they were delicious. So far I've only had 440 calories and I feel full and satisfied. These veggie items are really tasty. Anyway going to get on treadmill and will report back. How is everyone else?

Anyway, now I want a Polar & a Wii! Thanks for that! Really, it's great to hear all the options that are out there! Successful options!

Well while fixing the gas leak on my car, my bf was kind enough to break my driver's seat the rest of the way. It was starting to go but he busted it so the back fell the whole way back to the back seat. Lucky I have seats out of another old Volkswagen that happened to fit. Now the inside of my car is all mismatched. :ohwell:

Hello beautiful blues!!!! :flowerforyou: I have read just about all of the posts since the last time I posted and they're so motivating!!! :drinker: I had a LOT LOT LOT of housework to get done at my mom's today (we've both went into spring cleaning mode WAY early:laugh:), so I didn't get to go to the gym. :grumble: But, I think I've burned a lot toting clothes around, doing the wash, sorting through stuff, cooking and chasing my cat.

For breakfast, I took a recipe for a shake that was on the Recipes board and tweaked it a little bit:

1 frozen banana (around 105 calories)
    1/4 package sugar free vanilla jello mix (I think it's 25 calories? Or, maybe that's the whole pack . . . )
1 cup vanilla soymilk (100 calories)
    1/4 tsp. almond extract

It was SOOOO yummy, but a teeny bit thick. I think I need to put some ice in it or something; the jello started to do its thing.

I, too, want a Polar F6 and a Wii now, lol!

I'm going to try to make it to the gym tomorrow evening. They're open from 1 to 6 tomorrow, but I'm going sometime to see my cousin's new baby and I'm not sure how long we'll be there. It's not really far away, but it's not close, either, lol

I am trying to keep up with doing the 30-Day Shred every other day. Is anybody else Shredding???? I'm starting it again tomorrow.

    :drinker: GO BLUE!!

Hey everyone - sounds like we are off to a good week 1.

I have to say I'm proud of myself for staying motivated enough to still workout even after the day I've had! I did BL Cardio and burned 363 calories. They should be adding up to weight loss by now - I hope.

I'm still really sad and down. Maybe typing the story will help me to feel better.

To make a long story short - I have a farm and alot of the animals are my pets. I had hunting dogs come through and killed 2 of my silky bantam babies (show quality) that actually hatched in my hands. They were about 4 months old. I know it sounds crazy but they all have wonderful personalities just like any dog or cat. They got some others also. Oh well  At least today is the last day of hunting season.

The guy came to get his dogs but could have cared less about my loss.

  • I usually start working out about 6. I think I might walk for an hour again like I did the other day. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to loose a pound per week like I intended to.

I always go and look at the menu before I go out to a restaurant. Most restaurants have a healthy menu and it always fits in to my calories.

I will have to try the steak and portabellos next time. I had the garlic herb chicken with veggies. It was pretty good. The chicken wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would have been.

I love Golden corral. Take advantage of the salad bar and jello for dessert if they have it. Good luck!!!

Just checking in! Watching the Colts/Chargers game & chugging my water! Thank you all for being here!

I'm having friends over tomorrow for dinner! The nice thing is that I can control the menu a bit! I'm making turkey & a friend is bringing salad. Maybe I'll do baked potatoes instead of mashed.... that would be a good alternative!! I hate to not have dessert... maybe I'll grab an angel food cake or something... any suggestions..

I just want to say I found a great site to figure out my pilates and I just kicked some serious butt on my elliptical. I cleared 5.2 miles and 430 calories I ran the last 2 min so hard and fast I got up to 11 mph. Just had to share my hard work with the rest of you and hope you all are doing great.
  • Good luck on the dinner party. My favorite desert is get fresh strawberries (or any berries you like) and dip into melted dark chocolate, even sugar free ones. It's low cal, looks very fancy and is very yummy. Have fun!

I am currently obsessed with these veggie burgers, I may never have the real thing again! I ate 6 parties today and I still haven't reached 1000 calories. I am too full to eat much else. I will probably finish off with some fruit tonight. I still won't eat my excercise cals. It seems like alot of calories. On biggest loser, how many calories do they eat per day?
