Spent time yesterday doing meal prep. Roasted a chicken, baked a fresh veggie mix, and made brown rice. Divided everything into equal portions and now have ready grab lunches for the week. It ended up being easier than I had anticipated and now I don't have to waste my money grabbing lunch every day at work.
Also, Friday I wore a maxi skirt and crop top out to dinner and didn't feel super self conscious about it. I NEVER would have gotten a crop top last summer. Nobody glared or said anything, even my mom liked it.2 -
I have to remind myself to stop drinking water about an hour before I leave work so I can make it through an entire workout at the gym without stopping for the restroom. I never EVER thought I would be telling myself to stop drinking water. I guzzle it all day now!0

Oh! Also, Saturday night I was looking for a dress to wear out. Noticed there were some dresses in bags in the back of my closet, including my prom dress from my junior year. Nearly 10 years later and it's actually too big now!0

After being away on vacation and not going to the gym in over 5 days, I hit the gym first thing this morning.
I feel fantastic! I hit 45kg squats and dead lifted 60kgs!!!! Still working on getting past 15kg bench press but it's getting easier. I'm going to bump it up next week0 -
I've been holding out on buying new clothes, in general, until I reach something closer to GW. Last month, I broke down & bought new jeans (my daily wardrobe staple in retirement) because the size 16 women's jeans were so bunched at the waist from the belt that the waistline dipped below belt level between the belt loops. I reported how thrilled I was to be in a size 12 (misses, not women's) for the first time in decades.
Guess what? Decided a needed an extra pair for a trip I'm taking, and re-did the size check. Bought size 8. And I still have around 20 pounds to go!
(BTW: They have up-sized 8 since the last time I could wear that, back in the 70s - I'm definitely bigger now, yet, than I was then. But still.)0 -
I lost a half inch off my hips!1

I do not recognize the feel of my face in my hands. I just went to rub some tears away and was startled by my bone structure.3

I can now go a solid 40 min on the elliptical without stopping. When I started two months ago, it was like 15 min tops.2

I realized it's been over a year since I went to a buffet... They used to be my bang for my buck. I had a system of consumption that both shamed and impressed me...lol
All of my shorts I had gotten for the summer (brand new) are falling off of me. The thing is, I weigh the same and my measurements are the same...something has to be different somewhere in the numbers cause my whole summer wardrobe isn't lying! (I've taken up squatting, maybe that has something to do with it?)2 -
I got special permission to swim laps during the Senior water aerobics class and know a couple of the women in the class. I overheard one of them bragging that she's friends with "the swimmer". It made me feel pretty bitchin'3

My pants are literally falling off!
I had really really strong cravings today... For broccoli?!? I definitely indulged
I've gone swimming nearly every day lately, not even very intensely, but I'm seeing major muscle changes!
This thread has been so inspiring. Don't hold all those nsv's to yourselves, post! Go on, post!!2 -
I decided today that I am a huge wimp and therefore need to say yes to opportunities rather than being scared because of logistics or not knowing what clothing to wear. So I have said yes to my friend's current idea for New Year in Colorado...despite me not knowing how to ski or snowboard and having absolutely no snow gear in my possession! In fact, considering how much I love my comfort zone...this is a huge and terrifying step. So this means that in all liklihood I will need to plan everything down to the last detail. But I said yes, and that's something I would have NEVER done last year

Walking... I love walking now... I now walk at least a mile every day. Post office, corner stores, bank.
Feels good and saves gas at the same time.1 -
I could zip and breathe! in a skirt I couldn't even zip about a year ago. Felt so good! Not even close to goal, but it's little victories like this that keep me going. ☺0

Sounds like a fantastic trip!! Get a hold of the ski resort you're going to; most usually rent equipment so you don't have to buy and offer a quick intro lessons for beginners.

Measured my waist this morning. I was at 39.95 inches. According to the National institute of health, and American heart association 40 inches is the point where ones risk of all sort of diseases increases, and I am finally below the line.3

I can see the curves of my waist.....1

I wore a bikini for the for the first time in over 20 years.0

Just finished my first month of actively and consistently eating healthier and doing the little bit of exercise I'm allowed by my physical therapist. I've lost 1/2" all over, except a full 1" off my waist! I still have 100+ pounds to lose, so not enough to go down a whole size yet, but it's a start.0

Deadlift 165# and Squat 115#. This girl couldn't squat the bar!1

1. One of the guys I work with told me I look "wicked healthy".
2. I rode my bicycle 150 miles in 2 days. (When I first started riding almost 2 years ago, I could barely make it 1 mile.)

For the 150 miles in 2 days, I rode at least 3 days a week with increasingly longer rides at least one of those until I could ride 50+ miles without any issues. Then started adding a second longer ride a week. The ride I did (MS 150) was very well supported with plenty of rest stops!
Just keep riding!

I have reached 2 whole months of not missing any workouts( 3-4 times a week hour long Les Mills classes at goodlife.) I did this despite everyone in my house having chronic bronchitis, i have 2 boys under 4 and both me and my husband lost our income this month. people are starting to notice I have muscles now and I feel powerful. No to mention that it has really helped me deal with the stress.4

Wow, I'm impressed. If anyone had an excuse to throw in the towel, sounds like you did. Major kudos for hanging in there.
My NSV is just that I'm starting to feel more fit. Breathing easier on the treadmill and getting into a routine with weights. Unfortunately I'm hungrier now, but if more vegetables doesn't solve my problem tomorrow I will go ahead and up my calories.
