How bloating and disgusting it feels to have a day where you eat the way the old you did. After Valentine's Day I couldn't wait to go back to not eating much!
I'm struggling with that now! But I it was a good reminder to get back on track and eat healthier! I began eating more carby and fatty foods on my "weekend days" (I have 3/4 days off work rotating weeks because I work 12 hour shifts), even when I didn't go running. This started giving me bloating and gas...something I'm not comfortable doing around my boyfriend. I think that's a healthy response, so I'm trying to get back on the bandwagon!4 -
If I get asked "How did you lose so much weight?" I am just going to reply "The Mafia was involved."20

Have reached and surpassed my goal of 199lbs. down to 197.2lbs. I realize now the real work starts maintaining.

Oh...and after losing weight...like some of you said, I've gotten hit on a lot more, people (guys and girls) want to talk to me more, the emotional part..omg! I don't like drama, but I've been more dramatic the past year than I have when I gained all the weight! I've watched The Biggest Loser though, and those contestants go through a ton of drama, and the takeaway I got was that we were eating out emotions. Now, I'm learning to deal with the bad and the good emotions that comes up. It's definitely more than just the physical aspect. I want to have a healthier mind and body, and that comes with hard work!8

I ran a 5k with my 10 year old grandson. He took off like the flash and when I finally stumbled across the finish line 50 minutes later, he said, "Grandma, I didn't know it was going to take you sooooooooooo long!" (He came in 4th place out of about 200 people and did about 25 minutes.) At least you're giving your grand daughter a run for her money!

Just lost 40 lbs (196 to 156) in a few months grocery shopping 3 times a week at 3 different stores, in the kitchen for 2 hours a day (cooking, meal prepping, dishes, etc.), and going to the gym 5 days a week, and all the ladies be like "it's so easy for men to lose weight."18

- I can't see that I've lost weight and often times forget that I have. Ill walk past a mirror or go to put something on and I'm like "oh yeah..forgot about that.."
- I still feel big. I don't have confidence. I've lost almost 70 pounds and my mind is still in the same place it was 70 pounds ago.
- I hurt. My body physically aches from losing weight. It hurts to sit. At times it hurts to lay.
- I'm cold all the time.
- People can be quite rude about you losing weight. I live in one of the most obese states in the US. Fat is normal. The second someone's weight loss starts showing cruelty begins.
- I've went down 3 shoe sizes.
- The size and shape of my nose has changed, so much so that I heard a rumor that I had a nose job.
- Saggy skin and stretch marks. I already had both, but now my stomach looks like if you took a beach ball with a road map pattern on it and stabbed it. A deflated roadmap printed beach ball!
- Your periods could get wonky. Mine used to be like clockwork. Now; not so much.
- Sleep patterns can be disrupted. What are sleep?9 -

That I will still hate working out! I really thought I would start to be like some of you on here who starts to actually enjoy working out. I still dread it but still drag myself to the gym 3-4 times a week.
@yangt41 - maybe you just don't like going to the gym? I hope you'll find something that works for you and that you might have fun doing!2 -
My knees are hurting now that I've dropped 40+ lbs, when they didn't before.
I still can't do a full sit-up.
My husband sometimes sabotages me, and looks shocked when I call him on it and he sees he was, in fact, sabotaging.
My daughter is being oddly hurtful about being almost the same size; she must need time to adjust to this different version of me.
I don't get winded climbing up stairs anymore!

I think my 19yo daughter is a little uncomfortable with it too. I wouldn't go so far as to say she's being hurtful - I know she's happy for me - but at the same time, it bothers her that we now weigh the same amount. She's still a much lower body fat percentage than me and about .5" taller but she's made a face and said 'UGH! I can't believe I weigh the same as you!" a couple of times.3 -

Tell me about it! I have two different larger-sized containers for salads, and thinking about getting some that collapses for storage. I have a Pyrex set for the dishes I cook for the entire week, and then a couple sets of individual-sized containers for those dishes. These takes up a whole drawer, and it's one of those long kitchen drawers!1 -
That sometimes when someone yells across the gym 'oh my god you've lost so much weight, well done' you don't want to hide in embarrassment, you just want to smile, thank your friend and catch up on the year since you last saw each other with no more fuss3

I just love this thread. It had been so great reading through all of the comments. Definitely motivating. For me it is getting dressed every morning. I am having a ball shopping in my closet. Everyday it seems I find something that I haven't worn in years. The shoe thing is a bummer though. I spend a lot of money on shoes and so many of them are now just too big! I thought it was the one thing I could justify because I never thought losing weight would impact my feet. I mean, they never looked fat!5

Noticing how much sugar and sodium is in things you used to eat and feeling sickened by the thought of eating it now. I love that my sugar addiction seems under control!8

Having to deal with too large of rings. I lost my engagement ring that goes with my wedding band but luckily I found it. have these ugly silicone covers on the back so they don't fall off. Don't want to size them till I am where I want to be.
Flip side, it's been fun shopping for new clothes in sizes I haven't seen for years.
My blood pressure readings are at a long time low. Almost too low for me that I have had to double check.
My shoes are also getting larger.
My confidence level is higher with the weight loss.
How much you look forward to hearing about your MFP Friends journey, and for all the support they give. It's just nice to know that you are not alone and that others are going through the same journey and at different parts of the journey- some at the end, the beginning, and some in the middle.4 -

I was feeling the same way as you about 3 months ago. I was a long time jogger,power walker,with a little
Pilates thrown in,and I felt soooo not excited about working out.
Did about a week of you tube surfing and decided to give HIIT and Tabata style body weight workouts a go.I'm on a 90 day challenge, right now at week 8 and I'm so enthusiastic about it. Loving it!!
Changes to my body have been dramatic. I took photos as advised at beginning, then 30 days,60 days,and so on. So glad I did,because our eyes/brains can play tricks on us and we don't always see our progress. But the photos are documented proof!!

2 years ago I was only 10lbs (or less) heavier than I am currently, however it appears I've recomped in that time, as my glasses keep falling off my face... My freaking glasses don't fit me anymore!7

If your feet start hurting you really have to check that your shoes still fit. I felt like I was walking around with railroad spikes in my arches. I got so used to shoe sizes being inconsistent across brands/styles that the different size didn't really register. Then I realized that my foot was literally sliding back and forth in my shoe. I have lost two shoe sizes so far.
It has also started feeling like I have Tardis clothing. It looks too small to fit, but it always does so it has to be bigger on the inside, right?20 -
Everybody is saying that u will have extra expense for new clothes.
But as I become smaller, I don't need any more big car. So I have sold my Land Rover, and I bought SMART. Got the difference of 9000€. Now I am buying new clothes.11
