I'm going to try for 30 miles of running only for this month. I have 3.2 so far. I'll work on my ticker a little later. I have 3 children (5 and younger) getting into everything imaginable. It's not a good time for me to work on something so complicated such as this ticker. ; )

Hey @Stoshew71, for once you haven't eclipsed me in the first week of the month! We're at the exact same mileage so far! Super impressed by your daily miles btw. So many double digits per week! I'm hoping to do something similar for my next training cycle in the spring.

As I am new to running and didn't really have a plan, I was looking around at C25K but since I had already managed to do parkrun (albeit slowly) it didn't really seem like a good fit. I found the Rundouble app I started with week 7 day 1 of the zero to 10Km program. It was 4 x 8min runs with a 2min brisk walk interval. I added an extra run at the end to get me closer to home. It felt like a good place to start. Has anyone else used this app?

    ...on top of running...

There's your problem. You think there's stuff on top of (more important than?) running?

So I just completed my first HM even if it wasn't an organized race. Might complain to the organizers - No water stations, No Bathroom Facilities, No Shirt, No Race Bling and no post race FOOD.

    I actually LOL'd at this.

...mega heavy rain! I couldn't even see, but honestly I did enjoy the last 2 km under those conditions, it was fun! satisfied to see people closed in their cars and myself out in the rain working out

Wow. I haven't actually tried to run in a REAL rain (just a light misty, little-more-than-fog kind of thing). Not sure if I'd actually gut it up and do it, or beg off....

You guys are cracking me up, it's not just you "brothers" trying to keep it under control, on top of running, I work full time, do all the house chores including but of course not limited to laundry/cooking/cutting the grass/cleaning the pool, I'm a taxi service to Skip and her activities and I'm a single mom. Right now I'm trying to figure out why I volunteer for the XC Booster Club I'm trying to get a pancake breakfast set up for tomorrow for 250 all the while working on their banquet in less than 2 weeks. I tell my friends I'm the living breathing Army slogan "I do more before 9am than most people do all day" ha ha!!
@skippygirlsmom - when Skip is off to college and things quiet down you will look back and wonder how in the world you ever got it all done. I know I do!
@kareF - your ankle looks terrible! I would definitely hobble to the Dr as soon as possible
@HonuNui - Congratulations on your race! Great job!!
@juliet3455 - I prefer running in the cold too, it's just not all that cold here. Ever.
Congrats on finishing your first HM! I think your running fr-enemies owe you a post-run beer at least!
@Ohhim - Good luck with the triathlon!
@snha - great news that you could do 7 miles. Glad your ankle is feeling better!

I had a good long run today. It was hot, very dry and windy but the wind made it feel much more comfortable. I just had to keep having sips of water because my mouth and lips were so dry. This was my last long run before my HM on the 21st. I am nervous about this Half - it is the first invitational I have been invited too/qualified for and I worry I won't be able to match my entry time at least. I qualified well under the time requirement for my age group so hopefully I will finish within the range at least.

    Date..........Miles.........Total
    11/01.......0.00...........0.00
    11/02.......4.84...........4.84 - + Agility

@9voice9, I'm the same as you, I never run in proper rain! I tend to hit the dreadmill instead, but now my gym has closed for a refurbishment, I guess I will have to get over my hatred of rain.

As for my progress, I'm at 9/45 miles for the month. I ran a proper 10km race today and was so happy with the result! The course was horrible, very busy on narrow paths and there was one, horrific hill, plus it was muggy and I was a bit overdressed as it wasn't as cold as was forecast. But still, 57:35!!! Knocked over a minute of my previous PB and I'm very happy with it, even more so because it was a pig of a course. I'm even happier I made it through training without injury, woo!

Took two days off because of pain in the top of foot. Ran 5 yesterday and the pain is worse than ever. I think I've narrowed it down to tendonitis, so looking into getting some new shoes, and then taking the next few days doing some strength training and focus on getting into a bike routine.

    11/2 - 0
    11/3 - 3.17
    11/4 - 3.0
    11/5 - 0

Totally botched my swim pace today in the triathlon, so a 2:30 was out of reach. Finished in 2:32:59 though with a solid finishing run (7:37 pace), despite it being 79 degrees w. 83% humidity on the uncovered bridge/causeway course. Hoping to redeem myself at the rock & roll half next weekend.

On the plus side, it is always nice when you can just bike home from a race in 5 minutes, take a shower, then recover with some coffee out on the balcony.

    11/1 - 4 miles
    11/2 - 4 miles

    11/6 - 2 miles
    11/8 - 6.2 miles (Olympic triathlon 10K, 7:37 pace)

    Total: 31.2 miles
    Target: 220 miles
    Remaining: 188.8 miles
