In order to do 2x my BW, I'd be at 370x25 LOL with a 1RM of about 405-415 right now depending on the day.
    @juliewatkin ,you are a beast!

Yeah, this is what I was thinking too. I haven't hit 2x my BW on deads yet much less multiple reps. Much less 25 reps! lol

    That's super impressive.

My best clean squat- 245- I have a 250 but it's dirty and a hair short.

Best DL to date- I'm happy at 295/305- but I pulled this easy- surprised the hell out of myself- was also long hard fight for that- very mental for me.

@jorocka Love how excited you get on the DL! Wish I could get that psyched up when I lift!

LOL that was a HUGE day for me- and it's funny I was completely alone- so I only had myself to be happy with- I should have done a victory dance but I didn't know what to do- so a f**k yeah strut apparently was it. LOL

one day- I'll be doing the victory strut over 405- but 325- then 350 and so forth. all the gainz son- all the gainz.

Thanks. However, the lighter you are, the easier it is to do multiples of your bodyweight. It was still pretty barfy.

Your numbers are great. I had to laugh a bit how they fell out. It looks like yours are similar to mine in that your bench doesn't count for much but your deadlift is kick *kitten*. I only once hit a body weight bench at a meet but my deadlift more than makes up the difference.

Haha yep, that is literally how it is. My bench is poverty (like, Class III) but my deadlift is well into Elite territory and nearing International Elite... and unfortunately, the question people ask most when they find out I lift is, "how much do you bench?" :/

I just tell them that bench is for losers. Everyone knows, the meet doesn't start 'till the weight hits the floor.

Says the woman married to a bencher ;)

Honestly, I used to feel the same way. Until I had no choice but to start loving bench because we were focussing so hard on it. Plus the company I keep helps. Although if I could get out of the bench more than I squat club that would be great.

250 pounds for 25 reps. I know a few people who posted on here did this. These were done a year apart.
    My first go:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-Woh9kBLdI
    My second:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoTfE2q59sk

Nice @usmcmp! What percentage of your 1RM was that for both? I might have to try something like that.

@McCloud33 It was a challenge started by Jim Stoppani, 250 pounds for 25 reps. I figured I had previously deadlifted 250 pounds for a couple of sets, so 25 reps would be possible. I learned later women only had to do 10 reps. I think I was around 165 pounds in the first video with a 1RM of 305 and 185 in the second with a 1RM of 350 pounds.

I remember that challenge. It was pretty fun. My husband thought I was crazy.

    Remember mine? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0Q4k8vV8mA

I remember that. You are tough as hell. You're hurting majorly towards the end there.

I videoed my recent 405x21 and it looked pretty much exactly like that, but the vid got cut off. I had to lay down for a while. It was not pretty.

Here are a couple from this morning...

    315 back squat
    https://youtu.be/zl9HYUa6y90

I'm guessing my 1RM right now is maybe only 330#? I went for 365 right after the 315 and it wasn't pretty. Far cry from where I was a year ago around 400# :disappointed:

And not as impressive as @usmcmp or @juliewatkin...but 250x25 hexbar deadlift
    https://youtu.be/DPhs4mbOMAc

And I'll just answer they "why hexbar" now...because I like my shins LOL If I'm doing more than 10 reps with DL I almost always use the hexbar.

Very nice! It's great to see other people do the challenge. When Jim Stoppani issued the challenge a few years ago there were tons of guys who uploaded videos of them only doing a few reps and quitting. Watching Julie do it with how tiny she was proved they didn't really try.

Why would you even post the video up if you only tried a few reps and quit??? 250 was a decent weight, but I really only started feeling it in the posterior chain in the last 5 reps or so. Think I might have to try and do it without putting the weight down and/or up the weight to ~300#

That was a bit weird and embarrassing for them. If you can't do it, don't show yourself not being able to do it. I have all sorts of things I can't do but don't feel the need to document it
  • Very nice at @McCloud33 and @juliewatkin . I wish I had done the challenge, but at the time, my deadlift sucked a posterior chain something fierce.

For me it was a real struggle to front squat. I used to cross my hands in front of the bar, but that sucked too. I felt like I was choking myself. My general shoulder and and wrist mobility didn't allow me to do it the other way. However, since mid-summer when I last attempted FS, I've been working on that mobility and I can now FS.

This is from yesterday morning: 255 lbs x 8.

    https://youtu.be/KFKeY8Y76GM?t=27s

I can't wait to incorporate this lift into my regular training block.

That's some interesting db row work going on in the background. I don't know if I've ever seen the lifted leg flopping in open space approach before unless its a lift I've not yet heard of. Which is possible. Kid is more ripped than me though so I'm mostly just jealous. lol

That kid is so annoying. I've informed him that all his theatrics with the equipment will do damage to them and how would he like it if one the weights on one side broke off as he was using them over his head? As for his form, yeah he typically does weird stuff like that. He will set up the rack, with the barbell on the safeties low and jump over it. At least he's not curling in the rack I suppose.

He's pretty ripped and pretty young still. Hopefully he will grow up.
    Thanks @Iron_Miss_Canada !

I'm trying to get like @little_simon with a new overhead press 1RM of 235lbs. Does it count if you lose your balance at the end?

  • That hurt my life just watching that @_incogNEATo_

How difficult is it to perfect a clean & jerk? I've tried to do it before and become immediately aware of the need for a proper coach and tons of practice to get that right.
