    Pretty sure you''d have a heck of a time prying my medium-well inch-thick ribeye, that I, personally will totally be eating out of my own free will this Saturday, out of my hands. I'm not afraid to stoop to the level of stabbing hands with my fork. Hard.


    OP, are you a doctor or someone with a high degree of experience and education in nutrition? Because until the day my doctor comes back with my blood test results and tells me I need to make changes, I'll continue on my merry meat-eating way.

    I have been a vegetarian for a long long time and have recently had some more significant vegan leanings. I recently joined a vegan running group and one of my first questions was how accepting they were of people all along the spectrum. The girl who ran the group who is a devout vegan said that she knows the best way to spread the word and to help people along whatever journey they have is to accept them where they are. And yep, it's working. I am much more vegan friendly since joining their little cohort and it is because they are incredibly knowledgeable and not pushy.     The other day I was walking my dogs and a woman pulled her car over randomly and asked me if I loved my dogs. When I said "yes," she began lecturing me about how I could love dogs but eat other animals (I still have no idea what provoked this). I managed to break into her lecture and let her know that I had been vegan for about ten years, so it wasn't an issue.

    Even being vegan, the entire thing was so incredibly off-putting. If I hadn't been a believer in friendly outreach before then, I certainly would have been afterwards.

    There's a vegan running group in my city. I keep meaning to go -- I really need to do that!

    Tbh, not as bad as some people's I've seen. Liking the carb intake, like pasta and such.

    I don't think anybody is misunderstanding you. They just disagree that it's the only appropriate way for a human to eat.

    I live in Italy, dear.

    That's the kind of place I want to live. Mediterranean diets are much better than this Western diet everyone is so caught up on.

    I haven't read through the entire thread yet, but this is what struck me as hilarious... how many of the people who normally are moderation proponents in the LCHF threads, are defending LC and ketogenic diets in the face of someone so extreme...

    Pizza is one of the most balanced foods I know, Carbs, protein, fibre, calcium. I love a meat feast :)

    I'd recommend the running group highly. My group is extra awesome since we head out for runs on Sunday morning and then have an epic vegan brunch at one of the many vegan friendly places around here. We like to joke that we are a Vegan Brunch Group that runs before. ;)

    It really was like an attempt at a religious conversion.

    Your original post specified vegan or vegetarian. I was vegetarian. Please explain. I ate no meat (including fish). I was a true vegetarian.

    I was in no one endorsing it, never said it was something healthy. All I said was better than the Western diet.
