2 weeks ago, we were in Washington DC for spring break. While on a tour of the Capitol there was a shooting. Scariest moment of my life when the loudspeaker announced "shots fired, shelter in place." I had my husband and children with me and all I could think was, if I need to, I can pick up my children and run. Couldn't have said that last year. Very grateful to this board and the inspiration it has provided to not only watch what I eat, but get me in shape.7

Went over 1million steps since January according to my Garmin. Pretty sure old me wasn't walking that many steps in 12 months.3

Today, I won the staring contest with the donut table at work. My coworker said "you going to get one for the road?" And I replied, "you know what? I'm good."7

Went to my closet and took out the jeans that had been sitting there for 7 years brand new because they were too small. Tried them on just to see how close I was getting and they not only fit, but I needed a belt...which is another story in itself, I have a couple belts that were gifts that never fit me. The bigger one fit, but on the very last hole, the smaller one fit as well.
Takes a minute to realize a year ago I was 60 pounds heavier and that all makes sense.4 -

Went on a date tonight and was kind of worried about eating/what to eat to be healthy but not picky and all that. Ended up only eating half, which I basically never do, and was so full! Huge improvement for me!2

Feeling a little emotional today. Switched my wardrobe over from winter to summer and in the process put pretty much all my old trousers and quite a few other clothes away. Most of them simply because they now longer fit or look good. In the end two large rubbish bags of clothes. Feels good and still it is also a feeling of shock that I am closing a book on that me.2

Upper arms not so loose and jiggly as they were.5

I always find myself looking for the "like" button here. Such great success stories! I've got a couple.
My daughter's been commenting on my baggy butt jeans lately, so I went shopping. New jeans, size 4! I haven't worn a size 4 since, well, since I was 4.
Today is day 365 of logging, and being mindful of what I'm eating.
Keep on keeping on, everyone!

I was walking in front of my husband and kids last night ( because I walk faster every where I go now!) and my husband said, "Hey, look kids! Mom's butt dissapeared!"
Brand new size 10 jeans and the butt is already loose!4 -

At the dog lake, my dog briefly mistook a fitter lady for me!6

My collar bones are started to flirt with me just a little. Come on out, girls!3

1) my weight is now less than what my drivers license says
2) the shirt I wear at night is now so big that it slides off my shoulders and the bottom of the "v" neck goes to the middle of my abdomen
3) a ring that used to be too tight to wear is now sliding off my finger4 -
I can do cartwheels and handstands again.4

YES! I was so excited when I noticed I could see mine that I took a picture and put it on my profile for posterity. lmao1 -
Last night I was sitting on the couch next to my husband and he looked at me and said, "You look so tiny sitting there." Me, tiny, ha!!
Also, I went for a walk with my 7-year-old and we jogged for a little while. She kept saying to me "How do you do it? How do you do it?" while trying to keep up. She can still run faster, but I can go longer. A year ago, she could go faster and longer.
Oh, and one more (this one might not count as a NSV but I thought it was funny). This afternoon my husband cooked some chicken for my lunch while I took a nap before work. When I got up, he had the chicken sitting on the table along with my food scale. I'd decided earlier this week that I was going to try not logging for a month, just to see if I could maintain without calorie counting. When I reminded him that I wasn't counting calories this month, he tried to convince me, saying that this way I'd know for sure how much chicken I was getting. This, from the man who laughed at me the first time he saw me weighing my food. I reminded him of that (jokingly) and he said "Yeah, but it worked so well..." Yes it did. Yes it did.6 -
I now have a neck6

I did 8 miles yesterday, albeit in a walk-run-walk fashion. I was slow but crossed the line in under 2 hrs. That was an awesome experience: to surprise yourself by successfully pushing your limits.3

My hamstrings are sore. Yet I realize I can live a few days without exercise. My long term health is what is important. I will just cut back on my calories and move forward. I can start exercising again in a few days after I heal.0

I did a 5k race few weeks ago and prepare for a 10k one now!1

While walking my dog last week my jeans were uncomfortably saggy. When I got home I tried on a belt I haven't worn for years, and it fit!
When I walk up a flight of stairs at work I am no longer out of breath.
I had a big work lunch on Friday and ate more than I intended, so I came home, worked out and ate fruit for dinner and managed to come in under my calories.2 -
Maybe not a victory for everyone but a victory for me. Today was one of those days that my body said I need more. So I listened to my body and ate more than my goal BUT I didn't turn that into an excuse to binge and still ate under maintenance. I filled up on nutritious foods and I'm not going to beat myself up over it!
I also made it to the gym 5 times this week. A month ago 3 was a struggle9 -
So I was out with a friend and a friend of hers I had just met. We were discussing clothes and the newly met gal said " You could wear that, unlike me you are small' She had no idea that I have been working on watching the calories in and out and thus dropping weight and sizes.
I guess it is showing.4 -
