That I would no longer have that 'weight thing' nagging in the back of my mind all hours of the day, even an night when I take a potty break! What a relief! It's like a new felt freedom.19

Wow. Well said. Still looking over my shoulder...

I didn't realize my thighs and abdomen would look like a cross between crepe paper and corduroy. They're getting a little better since I've slowed down the weight loss after I'd passed my original goal weight.
Great comments, everyone! I find myself nodding as I read these.9 -
I no longer get rings around my ankles from having my socks on all day!!24

I now get fewer steps (like up to 700 less) when I go to the grocery store for the reasons of better meal planning with a list and avoiding more of the processed food aisles completely. I was relying on some of those extra steps towards my weekend count.3

You could be doing everything right, weighing food, counting every calorie but not losing weight... then suddenly (if you don't give up and stick to it) you get a WOOSH of weight loss
Weight loss is not linear and can be VERY frustrating at times but it's important that you don't let it get you down so much that you give in and give up!
A lot of people also seem to think that weight loss is mostly about exercise and not about diet, but I lost most of my weight through diet alone. I had a friend from interstate come visit and after seeing my weight loss said 'I really need to get to the gym to lose weight'. When I mentioned that she needed to watch her calorie intake as well, she shut me down completely and wouldn't have a bar of calorie or food talk. The last thing she said was 'I could easily go on the stationary bike for 1/2 an hour a day' and I gave up at that point.27 -
How your self esteem plummets when you have to walk around with super baggy clothes because you cannot keep affording to buy new clothes for your forever shrinking waistline.
I just bought new jeans a month ago and they're already baggy in spots that aren't cute.
I'm wearing a size 16 with a belt to work when I wear a 10 and I feel so unprofessional.
I totally get it! There is a site called ThredUP where you can send gently used items and you can either get credit to shop on their site or you can have it transferred to a paypal account. Most of their stuff is "like new" or "new with tags". Cute stuff... It was a good find!!!

Have bought several polar fleece vests which I wear all the time to keep warm!!
(Needed a few different colours to go with my new wardrobe, lol!)

- how much fun it is to no longer worry about dresses or tops falling off the hangers because the neckline are so wide. Also, i don't need to fold my skirts when clipping them on the hanger!
- how it is STILL annoying when sales clerks kind of look at you dubiously and ask "the medium?" The other day I asked the clerk of their medium underwear ran large because it looked big. A tad offended I think when she (a stereotypical thin young woman) said she wore medium and if they were too big to toss them in the dryer or "if they're too small, don't dry them". Welp. They were sagging within an hour4 -

*sigh*. MFP is skipping part of my reply and won't let me edit. Also, despite losing 52lb to get to 168lb I can honestly say that I don't feel colder. Says the Canadian girl waiting for spring, lol

I wonder if I'm the only one here with this one but...
Wanting food to make you happy when you're not, and you're unable to, as food is no longer there for you, other than to nourish your body
Does that make sense?! If you were to ask me last year- what do you enjoy doing, what's your favorite hobby/activity? EATING!! It made me (temporarily) relieved of stress and it was something I looked forward to.. Pretty much the only thing I looked forward to for fun!
Now when I'm bored, and I have an off day once a week to get a little craving out of the way, or a family member is diagnosed with cancer/other things life throws at you, and your stomach just doesn't WANT food for comfort... BUT YOUR BRAIN DOES! And you don't know what to do! Because food was your life, and now it's not, and it's time to get out and find something that makes you happy!
Physical changes and having to deal with the mental changes just being a tad bit behind!32 -

At the end of a hard day, or even in the middle of something, I look around, baffled, with my hands out, trying to figure out what I'm missing, what I'm forgetting. Oh yeah - comfort food.13 -
Comfort food was my go to for most of my life. My first reaction when something is going on is what can I eat to make me feel better. I'm still figuring this one out. But I do know that when I indulge it's just not the same anymore.9

How others will try to sabotage you or try to turn it from my working on being healthy to it being about "vanity". I refuse to be one of those who hit 50 and then blame being unhealthy on their age.25
