Completed c25k on Friday and then ran yesterday for longer.
It's obscene how proud I am of myself, but I don't think I've enjoyed exercise since I was about 16 and I'm 33 now. I'm going to embrace it!13 -
We launched our boat for the season on Sunday, and I had to tighten the strap on my life vest several inches since last fall.
Today I ran 41 minutes, non stop. A month ago I was at 20 min and did not think I would make it, or WANT to make it, to 40 minutes. 40 was the goal I set after finishing C25K sooner than expected 2 weeks ago. Three months ago I could not run 1 minute and honestly did not think my 61 year old body would ever let me make it past 10 minutes. 2 years ago I could not WALK 1/4 mile without excruciating pain.[/quote. Wonderful!!2 -
In Australia size 10 jeans, American size 297

Kicked my own butt last night for a fitbit competition with coworkers. Starting C25K put me ahead, but I didn't get off that treadmill until I had a 3000 step lead! It felt amazing despite how tired I was afterward.9

What is c25k? I've seen a lot of people refer to it.-1 -
Was able to jog for 8 minutes yesterday- haven't done that in years! Also, my teenage daughter told me my jeans were too baggy yesterday- a size down from my usuals and they are too baggy?!- it made me smile!7

One of my friends pointed out that when I said, 'I've lost so much weight that 100 squats doesn't seem like work until about the 90th." was a NSV8

It's a running training app. C25K stands for Couch to 5K. It's an 8 week program that gradually increases the running while decreasing the walking. I've completed it and am now running multiple 5Ks a week, this being when starting at the beginning the 1 minute run got me breathing hard. It's a great tool if you're interested in improving your cardio ability3 -

Couch to 5K. It's a running program designed to take you from couch potato to running a 5K, or 30 minutes, in 8 weeks. (Or longer if you need to repeat a few weeks! ) It's great for a beginner runner, and helps avoid burnout!3 -
Ran my first 5 K in 20 years. Sub 30 minutes.19

23000steps 10 miles walking 53 floors climbedALL working on my yard.Monday..Sping is a great time to see winter fitness paying off.17

I golfed 6 days last week and walked a total of 59 miles while doing so. I took up golf a year ago at the age of 54. I have had titanium fused to my spine twice. I could barely walk when I joined MFP. The same course I learned on last year my average score was 152....last week my average score was 89. My best score was 82 twice.!! I think that incorporating Pilates and strength training have been the reason for my success at golf. Dang, I feel good!34

Decided to treat myself this morning with my favourite breakfast sandwich – It’s only 280 calories, so not awful calorie-wise. I got through about half of the sandwich and realized I really didn’t even like it anymore. Ended up eating about ¾ of the sandwich and then just threw it out and fished my strawberries out of my lunch bag which I enjoyed so much more. Four months into this new lifestyle and I can actually tell that my tastes are changing!22

Had to put a safety pin on my capri pants so they would stay up comfortably. This inspired me to go through my closet... I found that I could fit into 2 pairs of pants that I had buried deep.16

Today I was on my computer at home doing some work and typing into chat with a colleague. I've been trying to do 'random bursts of activity' so I decided to do 10 knee pushups. Completely distracted by the chat, I dropped and did a pushup...realized coming up that I forgot to get on my knees and did a proper pushup! Then I did one more! Then my arms died and I fell to the floor -- but that's not the point! I've never done a pushup in my LIFE and I just did two! Stronglifts is working for me!44

I bought a pair of size 10 jeans at goodwill a few weeks back that were still a bit snug. A week ago I discovered in my tub of summer clothes, about 5 pair of size 10 jeans that I had purchased when I first lost 30lbs in 2013. They all fit! So did all of my shorts and capris. I now have too many and get to donate some things just because I will never wear it all, not because it's too small. Excited to see what size I'll be when this is all done18

I usually walk to and from work and on the way there are a number of people that say hi and sometimes have a chat. I mean I have passed their gardens hundreds of times now Even the dogs know me. Anyway, there is one elderly lady that I greet whenever she and her dog are in her garde. As you can imagine that happens a lot more in spring and summer than in autumn and winter :-) I had not seen her for a while and saw her again this afternoon and said 'hi' as per usual. She came over to the fence and asked "can I ask you something please?" Well sure. "Did you loose a lot of weight? I hardly reconised you"! Well yes and we chatted a while longer. Somehow, with the sunshine and all, I just liked her forthrightness. Even virtual strangers see it now. Kinda proud :-)31

I bought a cute high waisted pair of distressed, faded/trendy denim (shortish) shorts at Target a couple days ago that have some lace around the bottom. Yaay. I don't have to wear capris all the time. This is giving me incentive to lose a bit more so I can wear fitted shirts next.14

I love shopping in tubs of my previous clothes in a smaller wardrobe size. Free clothes!9 -
In Feb I did a 6 mile hike and was wiped out the rest of the weekend.
This weekend myself and a couple of co-workers did the following:
Totals
33,591 steps
253 floors
14.44 miles
5:32:17 min
It was tough and I my calves are still sore, but overall I feel great. I think the downhill hurt as much or more as the uphill portion of the hike.
Another NSV is that I'm on the smallest setting on my belt when I started on the largest in Jan.
Time to get out the hole punch.13 -
I started my journey at 303lbs and have lost 42lbs in 4 months - but I can't see it in the mirror.... And it bums me out.
The other day my hubby and I went for dinner at Boston Pizza and I used to have to slide the table in the booth more towards him so I could fit in and this time I didn't have to!! And there was still room between the table and I! It was the first time I actually noticed a difference44 -

Today at the gym I almost lost my pants. Yep, what were very tight spandex capris had to be tied to my t-shirt to stay up.23

Today I went through a box of summer clothes that I kept at the end of last summer because they were all a little tight. I thought they would still fit this year...but every thing in the box is way too big to wear!20

I jumped on the treadmill today to do my interval training, even though I didn't want to do my workout, I completed it! I am anxious to do more. This is a NSV to me. When is enough, enough?14

C25K Week 8 Day 1 - ran an extra 2 mins to get to magic 30 mins instead of stopping at 28 mins21

Tried on a pair of 38 jeans that I've kept around since college for some unknown reason since they haven't got me in years, but today they got on easy. Now just to get them hemmed since I have short legs. I'm glad I kept them because I really liked them. Also, it blows my mind I'm able to fit in 38 size jeans17

A year ago I couldn't even walk 10 blocks without getting shin splints due to weight, but now I'm a poolee training to go to boot camp and just beat all my records this month at our monthly strength test and I actually feel proud of myself and my performance for once.13
