Happy Thursday!! Another beautiful day, but no shopping or swimming, my meeting is today and I am the chairperson. :blushing:

Connie, hope you have a wonderful birthday, come March I will be 70 with you. I like you, find that so hard to believe, but thank goodness we are active and feel good so we can stick around a long time. Where you live and walk sounds so amazing, your description is perfect, thank you for sharing. :flowerforyou: The blog of the girl who went through the tornado in Joplin was heart breaking, I am so happy things turned out good for her but so sad about all the others.

Becky and mom (sorry have forgotten you name) I have 3 sons all over 6 feet and a daughter who is about 5' 10", they all took after my first husband who was 6'4". I myself am 5'4' (used to be 5 4 1/2") and my hubby is 5" 10". When Brad comes here from one of his road trips he eats like a horse, small meals but often. I love having him here so I don't mind at all.:drinker:

Barbie, fingers and toes are crossed and of course a prayer for your offer to be accepted. I am so happy you have the frisky poodles to keep you busy and although no one can replace Haifa you can share the love you have for her with them.
My good friend just learned her daughter's 14 year old giant schnauzer has cancer and other health problems so they are letting her go on Saturday. My friend is devastated and can't even talk on the phone, she is taking it really, really hard. Schnapps lived with my friend for many years until her daughter bought her own house and still goes there daily to let her out, so I really feel her lose. Loving our pets is so easy, letting them go is so hard.

Jeri, your profile picture is beautiful, as you are. Where you live looks peaceful and wonderful. Glad you got to spend time with your friends and give them a tour of your city, it sounds like great fun.:flowerforyou:

Marie, I am glad that construction worker lived through that terrible experience. We can never give enough credit to the men and woman who work so hard to save our lives and protect us. And what's up with so many car chases in Texas?? When you sign in on face book do you click the save this information button?

Deb, good to hear from you. Coach is a brand name, mostly they make purses and shoes. I did buy two purses since it was such a great sale and basically I got two purses for the price of one. Yikes!! your eldest daughter is young enough to be my granddaughter. My eldest son is going to be 48 on the 26th and my youngest will be 39 in November. Talk about feeling old. :noway:

Shirley, good luck on your new diet. My personal choice is to eat what I like, but in control. I really think when I cut down on sugar that did me the most good and counting calories of course.

Phoebe, so happy to see you post with us, keep coming back, we miss and love you.

Gayla, loved your joke.

My daughter said my granddaughter (21) will be contacting me to ask if she can stay with me for a long weekend in August. She and her friend will be going to Lapalooza in Chicago and need a place to crash every night. It will be great having her, so of course I said yes.

Better get moving, have a great day everyone!!

:flowerforyou: Sandy, I absolutely can not believe that you are almost 70.:noway: From your picture, I wouldn't have guess you over 40.

:flowerforyou: I am not sure which one is Connie, but...HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!

I am having the second half of my taco salad. Ate the first half yesterday. I could never eat a whole one even when I wasn't trying to lose weight.

    Hello everyone.

Jeri in Calgary....good luck on your doctor's appointment. I have a similar appointment on Monday to see if the three chemo sessions I've taken so far are doing some good. Praying for you and others with health issues. The flower picures are beauatiful.

We live in a tiny house (just right size) in Spokane. When I wake up in the mornings I can open my curtains and look ouside for awhile before I ge up. The fence is about ten feet away and covered with beautiful greenery. Just over the fence is a huge cherry tree that is loaded with cherries. This morning I watched the squirrels eating their fill and darting around in the tree. I'm so thankful for this little bit of nature I can enjoy right at home with the changing seasons. I marvel at God's goodness to me.

I let Mariah water my houseplants with her water pistol today. She thought that was pretty cool.

    Wife’s Diary:

Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn't say much.

I asked him what was wrong; He said, 'Nothing.' I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving.

I can't explain his behavior I don't know why he didn't say, 'I love you, too.' When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep; I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

    Husband's Diary:

A four putt; who the hell four putts?

:flowerforyou: Sandy...you always make my day.

:flowerforyou: viliberty1957...your yard sounds great !!! And, I love the idea of giving kids water pistols and letting them water the plants. I will have to try that.

:flowerforyou: CALIECAT, I am with you....can't give up the AC.

:flowerforyou: Jeri, I just tape a prayer, for you, today on our prayer wall at work. We will be praying for you.

I have a friend who is in great need of prayer. She has been fighting cancer for several years. She has had some of the most disfiguring surgeries that I have ever heard of. She is waiting for an appointment to have some spots on her skin biopsied. I really don't know how she can take all that she has been through. Please keep her in your prayers. Her name is Pam.

    Happy Friday!!

Becky, prayers being sent your way for your friend.

Irene, if we all looked at life the way you do and appreciate all that God does for us, it would be a much different world. Your description of your morning was beautiful and for you to be so grateful and unselfish is amazing. I pray your chemo is doing some good and you get good news at the doctor Monday. Your angel on earth is again bringing tears to my eyes, just because she makes you so happy. God bless you Irene.

Gayla, even your responses are funny, you are on a roll.

Marie, turn every thing off but the A/C, we will hear from you when things get cooler in Dallas.

Jeri, prayers for you today and hope you get good news from the doctor. What ever God's Will is for you, I know you will be able to handle, you are one terrific lady.

Walked to the Itasca Fest with Daisy last night and she was sure in her glory. People kept stopping me and asking what kind of dog she is and can they pet her. She was so good with all those hundreds of people, I was so proud of her. We didn't stay long since I was afraid security might ask me to leave because she is so big. It was a long walk there and back so we burned lots of calories. Today I am sitting for the six year old. I will pick her up from camp at 2:00 where we will go to the Country Club pool where they are having a tye dye party. The lifeguards will help the kids tye dye shirts for fun and of course some swimming. Her parents are going to an early wedding so she may end spending the night.

Monday our new casino in Des Plaines opens and I will be there, it is so close to my house it could be dangerous. (jk) I just hope it won't be over crowded but if so I will leave since I am going back on Thursday with my DIL, who needs a day to herself.

Did I mention my computer came? I will be setting that up today and can finally get back to normal.

    Have a great day!!

    And they just keep coming!!!!

    Catholic Heart Attack
A man suffered a serious heart attack while shopping in a store. The store clerks called 911 when they saw him collapse to the floor. The paramedics rushed the man to the nearest hospital where he had emergency open heart bypass surgery.
He awakened from the surgery to find himself in the care of nuns at the Catholic Hospital he was taken to. A nun was seated next to his bed holding a clip board loaded with several forms, and a pen. She asked him how he was going to pay for his treatment.
"Do you have health insurance?" she asked.
He replied in a raspy voice, "No health insurance."
The nun asked, "Do you have money in the bank?"
He replied, "No money in the bank."
"Do you have a relative who could help you with the payments?" asked the irritated nun.
He said, "I only have a spinster sister, and she is a nun."
The nun became agitated and announced loudly, "Nuns are not spinsters! Nuns are married to God."
The patient replied, "Perfect. Send the bill to my brother-in-law."

Sandy, I think this was meant for you, not me. I haven't posted jokes. I have two dogs, not one. I live nowhere near a casino, and I'm not babysitting for anyone!!!
