Can't fall asleep! It's 3AM. Could it be I am over-psyched about the snowstorm? It just doesn't matter. I don't have to go anywhere important tomorrow.....

OK, lights out and back to bed.

    TUESDAY

    Good morning,

Hope you got back to sleep last night Lana. Glad you can be home bound today. People I know in CT are being told to stay at home. If that directive ever came to CA nobody would know what to do with it......

Have a hot water bottle on lower back this morning, woke up a little stiff.

Dr apts today and with any luck chocolate when it is done.

Will lurk from work. Wave to all who follow.

    Tuesday

-3 degrees here this morning but the roads cleared off yesterday, so that's a blessing.

Concert at DS's college was fantastic. My "music allergy" acted up a couple of times. (tears).

DS surprised me yesterday by saying he may decide to stay at current college and not transfer. He really bonded with the choir guys on their 12 day, 5 state tour and now that he feels like he has friends, he may want to stay put. So, we shall see!

Scale is still up. Today is Day 14 of no pop. I'm hoping this gain is mostly due to impending TOM or some other water weight. Very frustrating. I guess I can be glad I haven't gained more. But I hate being up this far with doctor appt in a month. Will definitely be showing a gain there. Hopefully they won't say anything. I'm more worried about spring clothes not fitting.

Taxes being submitted today. Refund going to pay off debts. Although now if DS decides to stay at current college, we had said we were going to set some aside for next year's tuition. Not sure if I want to do that vs. paying off the debts? Decisions.

Lana and Missy - stay safe

Sara - good luck with dr appts

    Dawn - keep warm!

    Welcome to all new people!

    Will lurk from work.

    Hello Ladies~~

I just woke up at 11, and half the day is gone.

My gosh, the scale is up here in NYC. I can't even print the number. I'm with Annie: I so want to fit into my clothes and look better, and instead I am getting worse. I cannot control eating to "feed a need". It's as if my mind tells my body to feel hungry so the mind can eat and feel better.

Maybe it's the result of the cancer treatment or maybe it's hidden reaction to being alone with DH gone, but I have never had a struggle this difficult. But!.......fresh start today.

If I were a husky, I'd want to be outside too! Woof, woof! LOL

PS - Maybe I'll try stocking up on some lower-sodium soups. I don't have any in the apartment, and soup can be tasty and filling with not as many calories as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. ;)

    Good evening,

    Wow what a day.

First apt now I need another apt to do a ultrasound- wasnt expecting that.
Second apt I just got back from and my one tooth is still numb -
Got dark chocolate lemon and Chocolate/coffee/hazelnut truffles (cream based) two in total one for each apt. Got a Blueberry one as a sample will give to someone at work.

I got orange cream suckers for "st patrick's day" gifting.

I told my ob/gyn that if my pcp wants to do a gyno exam in July I will tell her no. I feel like a village has been there already this year........ Sorry for the visual but hope you laughed.

Messed up Miss T's schedule. Have hot water on to boil for eye compresses.

Licking my wounds - will be in lounge chair soon - extra fluffing please with foot massage. Have Miss T brush for her......

    Wishing all a good evening.

    WEDNESDAY

    Good morning,

So quiet this morning. Teeth are doing fine. Next on my dental "to do" list is to get a medical tray for teeth to help medicate gums - side effect is whiter teeth. Asked why so many people find whitening painful (two kinds of peroxide....).

I did NOT need to know that See's candy has so few of calories or that I get a company discount. The discount info with Easter coupon will be gifted at work.

Oatmeal on stove. Plan on walking more today.

Wave to all who follow. Will lurk from work.

    Good morning Ladies~~

Sara - what a rough day for you. No matter how good they are, a dental appointment and a gyno appointment on the same day makes either one of them more burdensome than they ordinarily would be. I do understand about taking one day and getting many things done. I'm just sympathizing.

Sometimes it seems that doctors ask for ultrasounds because they can (insurance will cover), but boy, if I had had a breast ultrasound when I should have (who knew?), I would be in better shape than I am right now. (I still am having trouble letting go of that resentment.)

I hope that it turns out well for you.

I need more coffee to clear the fog.....

    Wednesday

I'm on the downhill slide for the week since I'm taking Friday off. Scale is stuck. Maybe it's PMS water retention? I'm not good at keeping track so not sure. Wondering if I'll ever lose these lbs again??? Usually by this point in the spring I've lost a few.

Back/hip feeling good. Right side of neck and right shoulder are tight again today.

Had a surprise when I got to work today. I received an email from a former co-worker who is going to be at my building today for training. She invited me to lunch! I said yes. Regretting that I am wearing something not very flattering today and knowing I'm heavier than when I last saw her. But will go and try to enjoy myself.

    Everyone hang in there!

    Will be back later.

    Good evening,

Annie- I hope you had a great time with your former coworker!! That is what counts.

Done for day, hot chocolate on tap tonight. Chocolate quote for today " Chocolate does not ask silly questions. Chocolate understands."

Any one notice that chocolate was the one thing I was not willing to give up entirely??

Will wander over to Lana's Palm Tree and let Tillie play with her.

Tillie was not at all interested in playing with me---she just wants to be with the Cabana Boys! I do understand that.

Annie - I hope you had a nice lunch visit today~

Chocolate is in a class by itself!

    THURSDAY

    Good morning,

Hate to say it Lana, but my dog is a traitor when it comes to men - she is a real "daddy's girl". It's disgusting, sorry you were treated so rudely by Miss Tillie. She does it to me all the time. When she is done she will come and lay in your lap - which is a nice consolation prize.

Annie - good attitude today is a chance to do things right!

PB2 and gg oil in oatmeal this morning. Company cafe will have corned beef/cabbage Friday, so I am holding out for that.

Came home and took a nap before 7pm, I will blame it on the time change.

Blush on today - ready to go. Wishing all a great Thursday. Will lurk from work.

    Thursday

Scale up even more! Feeling very defeated but reminding myself that I have been making good choices and eventually I will see the results. Just feel like my body is against me lately! Trying to give myself a "pep talk" for the upcoming weekend that I CAN stay on track and I WILL stay on track.

Day 16 of no pop! DH is going to stop by the University today to inquire about buying a membership to use the indoor track since they have not responded to either of my emails.

It sounds like DS has really decided he is going to transfer to our local State university next year and live at home. He's realizing he can possibly bankroll the rest of his education with my tuition waiver (16 free credits a year), living at home, working full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year. He has learned to be pretty frugal with his money - although he's not afraid to buy expensive things when he wants them. :) I only worry about him having to start over at another school. He always feels like he doesn't have any friends and now he'll be leaving the friends he has made...but I can't argue the cost savings. If he can graduate with no additional student loans that will be a huge blessing to him as he goes out on his own. And I can't help feel that maybe he just wasn't quite ready to leave home. But I also don't want to raise an adult dependent. He can't live at home forever!

My boss is perturbing me today. She wants me to train a newer employee on a pretty complicated type of help desk ticket we receive. She actually put an appt on our calendars to make me do this training. I am currently the only person who knows how to handle these tickets. I know that is not a good practice - to only have one person. It's just that I'm uncomfortable "giving up" this type of ticket. I'm not sure the new person will really understand the ins-and-outs of the data. He's a very intelligent guy and knows programming but he seems to struggle with working through problems from the user-perspective. But I am getting busier as I am being put onto other projects, which leaves me less time to work on our incoming help desk tickets. I know someone needs to be able to pick up the tickets I can't get to, including these types of tickets. Sigh. I am not good at sharing my work.

Speaking of work - I had better get some done.

    Happy St. Urho's Day!

    Annie

    Good morning Ladies~~
    Dashing through.....another busy day.

Sara - "Blush on today" ?? Something special going on today? Or is that secret code that went over my head?

Annie - Just keep chugging along doing the best that you can. Recognize that you have stopped the corn syrup and your body will eventually adjust. You could be craving other things and over-eating a bit because your gut is telling your brain what to want to compensate for no pop.
If that's not it, just keep going......please force yourself to count all your positives - and that No Pop is huge. Count all the positives and try hard to not be negative. You can be negative here if you want, but when you talk to yourself during the day, keep that chin up and pat yourself on the back for all the good things you do for yourself, both food and non-food!
    Hugs~~

    At work,

qotd: what have you been doing well in your food journey lately?

aotd: I have made 3 different sets of dinners in the last 3 weeks so that on Saturday I am able to eat leftovers at work instead of eating out.

    Good evening,

Heard a Supervisor remind us to wear green tomorrow for St Patricks Day - seems she pinches people who dont wear green - I would like to deck her for trying to pinch me :s . I have 3 green buttons/shamrocks I will share.

Red in calories today, found out Supervisor's little baby girl (6 months) passed away and so I ate a little more chocolate than usual, and someone's birthday cake....

    Corned beef/cabbage tomorrow for lunch.

Quiche in toaster for dinner - last serving is Saturday. Will make either shepherd's pie or cheeseburger casserole this weekend.

Dog is done, so we will wander over to Lana's Palm Tree, rumor of green beer and green appetizers (artichokes are green....) for tomorrow. Cboys attire is an eyebrow raiser.....

    Wishing all a great evening.

    FRIDAY

    Good morning,

Fruit /Veg box this morning - 2 bunches of carrots, what was I thinking? May make Shepherd's pie to use the carrots, will roast with the radishes and sweet potatoes.

TGIF - our weather will have changed 20 degrees from this past Tuesday to this coming Wednesday and boy does it make joints hurt.

Wave to all who follow. Will lurk from work. TGIF - had to say it twice.

    Hi Sara -
So sad to hear about someone losing their 6 month old baby! How horrible. Sending out healing hopes and metta for these parents.

    Be back in a bit.

Yes the CBs are a bit surprising today!

    Friday

Slept in. Sent DH off to work. Getting cleaned up slowly. Wearing our green for St. Patrick's Day! I am 25% Irish! My grandmother was 100% Irish. No big plans for the day. Maybe a trip to Barnes & Noble and Target?

Forgot to step on the scale today. Doubt it would have been encouraging anyway. We went to supper at a local Irish Pub last night and I had shrimp and fries. Water to drink. That TOM showed up yesterday, so hopefully this water weight will drop off soon. Concentrating on staying on plan over this long weekend of mine.

    I'll CBL!

    Good evening,

Woman at work made a chocolate cake with Guinness - did I really need to eat 3 smaller slices?? No I did not. I know why, I will deal with it better tomorrow and consider having tea for dinner. Tracking, putting parent into place again so it stops here.

Lady at work offered to drive me to the baby's service Tuesday - otherwise I would not go. Still on fence but appreciate the offer. Need to support the coworker and his family however we can.

Under Lana's Palm Tree, will watch those crazy Cboys try and entertain me. Will stay clear of the sweets, but something to nibble on would not go amiss.

    Wishing all a good evening.

p.s extra walk with dog helped us both feel a little better, take advantage of good weather while we have it......

"arniedog74 snow is falling at a steady rate. Had to chase dogs around outside to get them in. Resorted to getting some chicken to treat them inside. It worked! But they are begging to go back out um no not right now. I hope things work out for your grandpa. Difficult to see family members go through any illness or injuries. Was so difficult to see my grandpa go how he went. He unfortunately had to go to a nursing home. He had lung cancer and had to have their services. His health went down rapidly"

Missy - we got lucky and the snow pretty much missed us... we had flurries off and on... never added up to anything..
The thought of you using chicken to lure pups in... sounds like my dogs.. they'll do pretty much anything, for food...
Thank you for good thoughts for my Grandpa... it may, eventually, get to the point of going to nursing home... but, not to that point, yet... so, not going to push it... as long as Uncle stays there and continues to help, I think he will be able to stay in the home, for awhile...I do, however, believe he should be using a wheelchair, sooner than later.. and, a nurse should be coming in... that's just going to be incredibly difficult for Grandma to accept... hopefully, the family will think about everything and make the best decision for him... no matter how difficult that decision may be...

    SATURDAY

    Good morning,

Did not eat dinner, just too much sugar from cake. Asked myself where I had gone off track. Those little monsters were not to hard to find. So battle the monsters again.

Have sweet potatoes to roast. Will get extra bananas for workday (apples were tough with temp crowns, so got out o habit). Roasting carrots and radish as well.

Dawn, glad a plan of sorts is in place and sometimes you just have to wait and see what happens. I had a former supervisor who would say - "We shall see what we shall see."

Will stop by after work - next week is dog apts both Sat/Sun so last Saturday of OT.

    Saturday

Stinking scale is still up! Still the highest number I have seen this year! That TOM started on Thursday and I thought the water weight would have started dropping off. Diet really hasn't been bad and I've only been drinking water and yesterday I even got 10,000 steps! Will continue to try to make good choices even though I'm frustrated.

Today is Day 18 of no pop! I was a bit overboard with sweets yesterday and kids and I had treats at the Starbucks at the bookstore. It was a nice day with the kids and I'm glad I took the day off to spend with them. Made the mistake of trying on some jeans at Maurices yesterday - which did not go well. I found out later when looking online that people are complaining the jeans are running very small compared to the same jeans they bought there even a couple of years ago. So then I felt a little better.

Lana - I am trying to take your words to heart and trying to focus on positives!

Grocery shopping today. So hard to think about what to make through the week. Breakfast and lunch are easy, it's the supper that's tough. DD and I are going out for dinner and a movie with MIL and SIL tonight. We will be seeing "Beauty and the Beast". DD is so excited! We even painted our nails last night!

I suppose I'd better eat some breakfast and clean myself up.

    Enjoy your Saturday!

Oh, I think we should all pile into the private jet and go see Beauty and The Beast together! Bring the dogs!

I worked on the Broadway show for a few years; I was one of four follow spot operators. I never got tired of the show--I just loved it - the other three guys were bored out of their minds. Ha, Ha!

Sara -this is your last OT Saturday for a while? Yay.

Annie - A lot of people find that eating sweets, sugar, carbs causes the body to hold water. That's the tough part. I can be within my calories for the day, but if it included some baked goods or candy, the number goes or stays up.

Waves to Dawn and Missy and CF and anyone else who pops in~~

    Lana
