Sandy, what good news; such relief. I'm so happy for you.

Lana, I've introduced beans back to my diet. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed them and they were a big part of my diet when I lost weight before. Maybe lentils. I don't have a hankering for them so maybe not.

It's raining here again so I'm not going out this morning. I'll see if it stops. I am going back to work half days next week—the last few days. It won't be much. I know even half days will be hard! We start so early; we have to clock in by 6:45 and release is 12:30. And I'm still about half strength. It will be ok, though.

My sons are home and I'm so glad to see them.

    TTFN.

    Hey all!!

I made it through camping without over eating but I may have over drank a bit. I got 10000 steps everyday:) I didn't golf the best but it was our first time out this year. I had a hard time going back to regular life today but I made myself workout and go for a walk this morning even though everything in me wanted not to, in the past i would have pushed it to Monday and then possibly not go back to it. I only gained 2 lbs which I'm hoping will be gone by Monday.

I hope everyone is having a good week, I need to go back and read some posts:)

    Have a great evening!!

    Good Evening!

I started a post earlier and forgot to save it, so trying again.

Maureen, thank you! And speaking of chick peas, I heard a report on the news about them….helps with cholesterol and weight management. I put them in my salads.

Lana, thanks! I can't wait for it to heal now. I don't even know what the one in my back looks like. I had the SO change that bandage for me.

SO and I made meatballs this afternoon....came out great! I made sure I had a snack of raw baby carrots so I wouldn't eat 2 helpings. Kitchen is halfway cleaned up....ran out of room in the dishwasher. But the leftovers are put away.

A new week of the weight loss challenge started today....really want to get to 169 this time.

    Phillies lost.....bleah!

    TTFN....

Good morning, all, and welcome back, Stef. Sounds like a pretty good trip overall!

We had rain all day yesterday! I took the day off from walking. I'm doing small exercises when I get up for a couple minutes each hour and yesterday I noticed small progress on . . . something. I can't even remember what right now, ha. But it was nice to notice; it's only been a few days.

My PT is ready to release me; one more "let's just check in, just in case." I haven't even gone 8 weeks yet. And I haven't done any home exercises; just walking, and bending and extending in my own way when I feel like it—which hasn't been much. I think most of the progress comes from being up and about. I can tell from what PT says, though, and from the others I see, that most folks getting the surgery are not up and about much, so they really do need the home exercises and I hope they do them. It makes a world of difference.

I realized yesterday that the reason I don't feel "well" yet is that I don't feel strong. My whole adult life, I've felt strong b/c I've always been a runner or done other sports (gosh, do I miss soccer!). And the muscle strength in my legs has just all but evaporated. I used to be able to feel my quad muscle under about .25 inches of fat. Now it's a deeper layer and everything requires so much more effort. I had all that muscle a year ago in July before my first surgery, so I can get it back—it's not age, that's for sure. And I know I will. I know how to do this.
