Serial Starters

When I stepped outside around 6 this morning, it was 81. Hard to believe! I had a lousy walk-only a mile. The cattle were too close to the fence, so I had to turn back—my Aussies might chase them and get themselves shot, so I can't risk it. The dogs came when I called—which is good—but the stand off between the dogs and one steer was not promising. I thought Jem, the Chickenhearted, would back off, but nope. And I know Skye wouldn't. Neither of them have any experience with Scottish Highland coos, with long horns, and I didn't want this to be a learning experience!
So a light day for exercise today and tomorrow. I'll do the King's Mountain Trail—only 1.5 miles but very steep. And it will be close on to mid-day, so very hot. Well shaded, and I will have water and take it ever so slowly. So one good workout between the two days; that's fine in this heat!
I'm trying to make myself do one more thing each day—yesterday it was the library. Today I have no plan yet; I'll think of something.

Good morning ☀️
Maureen! Do you have a photo of doggies & cows? That must have been exciting! "Jem The Chickenhearted" 😜
I don't know what I'm doing today, but it will include water exercise in the pool.
I want something wonderful to eat today, but I don't really know what that means. Maybe I'll splurge and get some strawberries and some avocados. Maybe some fish?
Wishing everyone a good day today~~

Lana, I can't believe I didn't think to pull out my phone! I will, next time. Jem is very worthy of that title. He is ferocious in the house, and would probably be very aggressive with any other dog. But open an umbrella or let the baby gate drop? Hahaha, he shoots straight up like a cartoon character. I don't think he'd protect me if an attacker acted aggressive toward him (most dogs won't, although most people think they will), but he'd put on a good show until someone scared him.
I did the 1.5 mi loop at a nat'l military park—very steep for the first 0.5 mi and I had to stop 3 times. 95 F and no breeze, although mostly shady. Finishing was a victory in itself.
Scale has dropped a bit more since I've been back. Good to see I'm on track where I should be this week if I'm losing 1-2 lbs a week. I'd like to be "just" overweight and out of Obese 1 by the time I go back to work in August, and that should be doable if I stick with this.
TTFN.
