It's never too late to join. Just jump into the conversation and before long, you'll feel like you've known us all your life.
I had a traumatic morning when I couldn't get my pedometer open to replace the battery. The screw was tight, crooked, and stripped. I finally got it open with the help of the fourth screwdriver that I tried and now it has a new battery and the cover is taped on for extra safety.

BARBIE - glad you sorted your pedometer
Re BF debate. I didn't bf either of my two but my DD did with both of hers, in fact with the youngest she carried on for ages I mean over a year. You know that my youngest brother is 15 years younger than me and my Mum BF him (she was 41 then) there was major problem trying to wean him he used to be a real nuisance if we were out and about. She tried all the old fashioned remedies mustard, pepper etc He would just lick it off and carry on the thing that worked in the end was coffee ( not sure if he drinks it now) Sounds funny looking back but as a teenager I thought it was really embarrassing.
Did 48 min Leslie Sansone vid this morning and just going out for a walk in the sunshine
Have a good weekend

Meg: I think Margaret has very wise advice. Be kind to yourself and try to do what nurtures you. Focus on the top priority and let the rest go until later. Stop by here whenever you need to vent or just hang out. (((HUGS)))
DJ: I'm glad the handyman came and has your water sorted out. I hope you have a grand adventure with your cruise buddy. :flowerforyou:
Barbie: Your level of exercise always impresses me. Do you take a magic vitamin to give you so much energy?
M in Oz: Thanks for the lovely photo. You look great. We are heading into spring and summer as you are heading into fall and winter. I know & understand it logically, but it still seems so amazing that our seasons are opposite.
Marilyn from NC: Welcome! :flowerforyou:
Heather: Enjoy your trip to France.
Today they're having a cutting horse clinic at the stable and I plan to go and watch. I know my teacher plans to participate. I don't know whether she plans to bring both of her horses, but I suspect she will. There are no bleachers that overlook the arena, so we'll be peeking in the gates to see what is going on. It also looks like it may rain. I'll take my rain jacket. It will be dry inside the arena but no guarantees about the doorways where we can peek in and watch the action. One gate is inside the barn & the others are outside in the elements.

Katla, I hope you find a great spot to stand and watch the events with the horses. I think that the Isagenix shakes that are part of my eating plan have a lot to do with my energy level. I don't do any high intensity stuff, just walking, dancing, and riding the exercise bike at a mellow rate. My diet includes a lot of protein. I am reluctantly waiting until the nine month mark to try weight training again.
Barbie4 -
Barbie: I eat a lot of protein, too, but that ends up as both high protein and high fat because they seem to be intertwined in many foods. Shakes don't work for me because of lactose intolerance. I've tried things that are say they are lactose free, but my body doesn't respond well. As things are, I feel good and my blood tests at routine checkups have never given a red flag.

Hi ladies. This will be short…we are on a mission to get our taxes done this weekend!
Margaret: thank you for the words of wisdom.
Joyce: most of our yard is hardscaped, and it’s more work than mowing LOL
Dana: my parents used to live in Hot Springs Village, so I have been your way many times! Your pup sounds so cute and like she’s going to be a big one!
Lenora: your description of the stiff petticoats made me laugh…I have some very early pictures of me in them and I hated them too…scratchy!
Sue: did you know we just hosted the world equestrian championships here in Omaha? I didn’t go but a friend who did was thrilled!
DJ: I hope you have a magnificent time! I just love cruising!
Katla: thanks to you too! I am trying to learn to put myself first and to understand what I need.
Well I need to run because DH is home now with lunch. Sorry I didn’t get to all of you! Putting myself first (or trying) in Omaha, take care, Meg.

Hey my ladies!
So many of you are such travelers!! I commend you! Be safe in where ever you go, be it the Bahamas, or France! I think because both husband and I moved where ever the Navy told us to, that now we are happy hermits. We might go 2 hrs one direction, but we are always happy to be home. The volunteering that I do every third Thursday of the month helps both husband and I, to be apart. I think he runs around the apartment like Tom Cruise in RISKY BUSINESS! My friend that lives up the street from me, is having a hard time with her ailing husband doing dialysis three times a week, poor guy.. So our volunteering time is lots of giggling, and fun stories. I brought my tablet and showed some of the ladies my wedding pics. One did tatting, so she liked my headpiece. On the menu was crab linguini, with potato soup to start. The head cook stated to me that she had acquired three huge cans of crab from a local cannery. My brain sent my stomach a red flag about that tidbit of information! It was good though!
Its raining hard today! Last year at this time it was in the 90's!
Be safe all! Love yas!

hi Lisa. Are you okay with me praying for you and your son? Mental illness is so difficult. I have depression myself.3

Becca,my father started out in the Merchant Marine at age 17 and then joined the Coast Guard at the start of WWII. We moved every two years until he retired and then he and my mother took some trips. He finally got to the point that he didn't want to travel any farther than two hours away from home. I started to feel that way a few years after we sold our motor home. Jake keeps talking about places he wants to go and I want to go nowhere.

Hey y'all! It has been months (if not years) since I have been faithful to my diet and am so encouraged to read posts from ladies in my age bracket! Please consider me a new friend from Alabama. I am pre diabetic, 65 year old Nana whose grand babies are about to move seven hours away (boo-hoo!). Instead of eating myself happy I decided to re-connect to other dieters, as well as create a new body of work in my studio. Would really appreciate your friendships!!

hi Lisa. Are you okay with me praying for you and your son? Mental illness is so difficult. I have depression myself.
Prayers are always accepted with gratitude. We're flying him down for a week with us in May, and he seems to be doing OK right now. Can't wait to hug his neck, though I'll have to climb a chair to do it... He's 6'3"!

Becca, thank you for those pictures! Great kitchen idea, approval poster and your gram and her band. Do you remember any of her performances? What did she sing - country/western? Show tunes? Fabulous!
Pip, nice tree and lovely flowers, what a sweet tribute to Lenny. By the way, we have our solar blinking Christmas lights still wound around a tree in the back yard. I think they are keeping the deer away - the colors change and they go through a couple sequences of flashing at different rates. If nothing else it keeps the neighbors entertained if they peep over the fence.
Katla, glad Dh got to drive! Is he itching to go on adventures now? LOL. Hope you didn't get wet at the stable. We had a couple ferocious downpours today, a bit of sunshine too.
Joyce, glad your tummy is better. Knock wood I haven't had that problem yet. By the way, I love reading about all the improvements you are doing to your house and lawn - please give us the whole picture tour some day
Karen in VA - golly, sending good thoughts Jilli's way! Glad she's going to the ER to get it checked out.
Allergies have hit me hard - worked outside yesterday, got a lot done in the garden - onions and flower seeds planted - I guess one good thing about rain is it washes the pollen from the air. I took half a Claritin D first thing this morning (Zyrtec is too puny right now) which has it somewhat under control but ears are still plugged and ringing, eyes itching and nose running. I stopped in at the doc's yesterday and she ordered an allergy pill that's supposed to be stronger w/o the "D" (pseudoephedrine.) Anyhow makes me tired and grumpy . Just took the other half of the Claritin D.
Time to prop my feet up with a cup of hot tea and keep reading on this thread, I've skipped a lot during the week. DH is watching the Dr. Blake Mysteries on Netflix this afternoon....another good one!
Have a great weekend, ladies

Pip,love the tree. Is that one of his shoes?
This weekend is a free HBO/Cinemax so we are watching one of the Ice age movies. Each one is better than the previous.

Good afternoon: Got some lawn mowing and other yard work done with DD until it started raining. It is always interesting as we keep finding buried treasures. Today we found a piece of board, some old edging with stakes and some metal that we have no idea what it is or was. Horses are standing out in the rain eating green grass in the front pasture. Doing well on food except need more fiber.
DJ - Have fun on your cruise and a great birthday on Monday!
Heather - I know you will enjoy France. Travel safe.
Pip - Your spring flowers are beautiful. What a nice little space.
Meg - Yes, I did know about the FEI championships in Omaha. If I still lived in Sioux Falls, I would have tried to go.
Watched some of the qualifiers on TV.
Katla - Hope you are enjoying the horses and not getting too wet.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA2 -
Good evening ladies! I have been a lazy person today; it rained last night, and off and on all day. It's been mostly dark from the heavy clouds. Kind of hard to get motivated on days like today. I was going to burn leaves since I had neat rows of small piles along the driveway but I'll have to wait till they're dried out.
Today my DH and I was surprised to hear Dolly bark with a long bay at the end. I saw her with her head up and actually bay. True coonhound now!!
BTW: DH if feeling better but today he complained of a tightening of his chest. I reread the sheets that came with the meds and all 4 had tightening of the chest as a side effect! He quit taking the 2 for nausea and diarrhea. So we'll see how he is feeling.
Ann from Anniston Welcome!!
My grandkids are days away. I know how you feel. I'm going to Cheyenne, WY, to see my eldest daughter's son graduate from high school in a month, so I'm excited to fly up there!! I have to watch the diet! They all love to eat!
Have a good evening!!
