Morning, I'm wide awake and it is way too early. Ah well, coffee and mfp is a nice way to start any day.
I was social and happy yesterday, brunch in NYC can be pricey and over the top but I took my time with the menu and chose avocado toast -delightful and no alcohol!! After my friend's show, which was adorable, I did have 2 glasses of red wine which is a lot for me, and stayed away from most of the nibbles except for olives- I would say I stayed in pretty good control though one glass would have been a better choice
Am planning a simpler food day, and have begged off going out to dinner before our evening concert- planning on sticking to that for two reasons--don't want to spend any $$ and don't really want to eat restaurant food again. I am getting under control and restaurant food can really send me off the rails, better to just stay out of it and pack smart choices.
Hoping for nicer spring weather, cold and dreary here which is a bummer but nowhere near as serious as other parts of US, so I will stop whining!

Morning all, didn't catch up last night so a lot to get through this morning. So much going on I am hopeless at remembering but I think Lanette asked about my gallbladder thing, I've had the ultrasound and this next bit is the dreaded camera down the throat, even the thought makes me gag.
Another pleasant day in prospect and DH and I are planning to jump the local train to the coast, it doesn't cost us anything as we have pensioner's passes.
Mia is gorgeous
Happy birthday to Floyd

Morning Ladies~
trying to gulp down a cup of tea..then wash my hair and go get Taliah on the bus.. today will be busy at work.. I am assisting today and the Dr has a double root canal, she takes an hour and a 1/2 to do one ,I missed lunch friday because of one, and will have to bring stuff to snack on as I know I will miss it again today..
Claudia the Office Manager wanted each of us to write down what we do at work.. mine was rather extensive. She also ticked off Mary by taking her responsibilities for our clock in and paychecks away.. and was ticked off.
Claudia is my daughters age, and I am a bit worried about how she will run this office..but I need a job so I just stay quiet and do my work..4 -
At this morning's weigh in: 199.8. I haven't seen onederland in years. Hi Re, let's do coffee!!
Hope everyone has a great day. I am working from home and then driving to see a concussion specialist. They are located where our Ottawa Senators NHL hockey team plays, in the Canadian Tire Centre. Funny and makes sense.
As I look outside, it is snowing, in May?? What the ~€#*}~€,'f???

Haven't checked the forum in a couple of days, so will work my way through slowly.
Katla: The price of the glasses and checkup sound like highway robbery! It doesn't seem right that essential medical items should be so expensive!
Janetr Hope the sinus infection has improved!
Jane in Kent Hope you get some relief from the knee pain! Your daughter's hair is beautiful!
Heather: Very familiar with "Vin Jaune"; one of my best friends is from the area in the Jura mountains where it is produced.
Machka: Your cycling is inspirational!
Lisa: Beautiful car!
Mia: Congratulations on making the 5K run!
The second round of the French elections were last night. We have been getting together with friends for years to celebrate the results when they are posted at 8 pm. Our views cover a wide political spectrum, so there is usually someone who is happy. I was pleased that I was able to make some good choices and still come in under my calorie goal for the day. Asking for half a glass of wine each time helped a lot!

Whoot! Sarah- Hands in the air! Hello ONederland! Yes, YOu and Re doing the happy dance! congrats!
Love all of the before and after pictures! Very motivating!
Pip-Happy Birthday to Floyd! He is a pretty boy!
Karen- Mia is a doll baby! She is getting so big! What do you mean your daughter will be her new grandmother? Is she going to be close by and fill in for you?
Barbie- Thank you! I will be sure to let you know when the book arrives!
Mia- Congrats on finishing your race! And your time is awesome! You are absolutely glowing in that finish line pic!
I got a lot done this weekend and it felt really good! The lawn mowed again (this will be my weekly weekend job), clippings raked up, a few weeds pulled, (the yard work and grocery shopping was all I got done on Saturday). Then on Sunday I got my regular housework done (floors swept and mopped, rugs vacuumed, dusting done, I pulled everything out away from the baseboards in all of the rooms and put down some home defense (being invaded by sugar ants and spiders), then I got started on my DYS's room and got that cleared out (Becca- you inspired me with the purge of your son's room). Anyway, I spent five hours on the inside of my house! It seemed a shame, because it was a beautiful sunny day (albeit a cold one), but it had to be done. So, it got done and I felt really great when I sat down at the end of the night. Was in a really crappy mood on Friday; it is amazing what a little scrubbing will do to your mood!
Saturday, I was able to viber with DD and baby Joaquin (Viber is like Skype). Joaquin was very animated and active. She and I sound very much alike, so every time I talked to him he would perk up and smile and coo! Very sweet. I was telling DD what I had accomplished that day and talking about the stuff that is on my to do list for the summer (repair the picnic table, powerwash and restain the outside stair well to the basement, other miscellaneous tasks that require power tools and my DD said, "You are kind of like a renaissance woman!" I laughed and told her not to romanticize being a work horse. But, it is one of the upsides to having a hubby with limited capabilities due to illness; you do learn to use tools and do things that would otherwise fall into his category of chores. But renaissance woman? Hardly! ttfn xoxoxo KJ

Kelly That adorable Mia is Janetr's great-grandchild. She is a doll.

Did 10 min of a Carb Burner DVD, held my plank for 2 min 50 sec, then planning to take the extremepump class. The plan for tomorrow is to do a 20-40-60 workout on the treadmill. That's where you run for 20 seconds, walk fast for 40, slower for 60.
Lenora - I'm thinking that the people would sign the platter with a pencil and then I'd have someone else go over the signatures in paint. I don't know of any pen/pencil that won't burn off in the kiln. Then I'd clear glaze the plate and give it to them. I don't have a steady enough hand to go over the signatures. I'm thinking that people would sign the bisq with #2 pencils. If I had an etching tool there, someone might walk away with it and hurt themselves (at least that's my fear). I had this scissor holder from MIL and one from me that I never used so I gave one to Denise and then other to Jess. I showed it to the gal at ceramics and she said that the flowers in the corner were decals that were put on and then shellacked over because you can't put the decals in the kiln as they will burn off in such a high temp. I'm going to run this idea by Michele.
The other thing that I'm looking for (but I haven't found someone around here who does this) is when we were married, someone made a placque for us with our names and the date. It was painted, then the decals applied and the names painted, then shellacked. I would think this would be really neat, but no one at ceramics knows anyone who does this sort of thing. I asked at AC Moore and they don't know anyone either. I'm guessing that if I ask at Michaels and Hobby Lobby I'll get the same answer. Guess I can try Hobby Lobby. Hey, I was just thinking, I wonder if there's someone down in FL who does it. That'd be a good reason why we'd HAVE to go down there. I'd love to go, Vince isn't so crazy about it.
The placq looks like this:
Hmm...says that the file is in the post, just don't know where. Well, you'll know it when you see it.
As I recall, I think I only paid something like $40 or $50 for my trampoline. But, remember, I got it at Play It Again Sports. It was in new condition, tho
I've used the recipe maker here, the counts came out pretty accurate
janetr - remember, too that in order to keep your CPA license, there are classes you must take (which aren't cheap, but is also a business expense). That's the reason Vince "retired" his CPA license. He was working in IT, so he couldn't even take the expense of the classes off his taxes. The classes are expensive and time consuming. The IRS is constantly changing it's laws so you do need to keep up. But I wish her the absolute best. If it's something she loves, she'll do well.
Becca - I could use a clean bath...just sayin'
machta - you don't need to tell me that the perimenaupause stage lasts forever. I think I was probably in it for a few years. I'd go almost a year with no period and then, bammm....
Dana - isn't it amazing what family members can do?
Renee - a lady at ceramics made stuffed cabbage the other day. I tried one because I hadn't had one in a long time. But she had so much rice in it, I couldn't get over it! Very little meat, mostly rice. And not very stuffed at all. I was a bit disappointed, but oh well....
Loved all the photos
Bowling after exercise, ceramics tonight and then mahjongg.

I haven't missed a period yet. 6 years in perimenopause going through every other symptom ... but I still have my periods every 3 weeks or so. Sometimes even more frequently.
I did, however, get all excited when I went about 37 days without a period a couple months ago.0 -
Janet ~ You look way too young to be a great grandmother.
Before & After Pics ~ You all look so well. You should be so proud of yourselves for all the hard work you have done and what you accomplished.
Becca & Kelly ~ Wow! What busy bees you have been. If I get my house vacuumed and the kitchen mopped, I feel like I have accomplished a lot. Bathrooms ~ I can clean the sinks & toilets, but, then the tubs really pose a problem as it is hurtful to my knees to get down and scrub.
Azaleas ~ I need to find out about cutting them back. Last summer's drought did a job on mine. They have so many dead places and bare bottoms. My husband planted these across the front and they have always been lovely in the Spring. Not this year.
We went to my grandson's baseball game on Saturday (they won) and then to La Parilla for Mexican. I had a large burrito that had a lot of lettuce and tomatoes with it so didn't feel so bad. But, I also had two frozen margaritas which I adore.
I have decided that I want to grow my hair out again but dread how it is going to look in the process.

- Leigh in France - Thank you Leigh. After three full days on the antibiotics I am beginning to feel better.
Our grandson left this morning for the Navy for basic training. He will eventually train in Air Traffic Control. They had a going away party for him Friday night but I did not feel up to going. I insisted Jack go without me He stopped by last evening to give me a hug before the recruiter came to pick him up. I did shed a few tears. They grow up so quickly.

Good morning!
It's a sunny day in Arkansas. 80f are forecast so it should be a pleasant day!
Although there are some rivers cresting up north and flooding may happen in some towns. I'm praying for the best for them.
Lenora Thanks for your response. Sometimes I think I'm the only one with family issues especially with an aging mother. You had mentioned how yours took the photos. Well my DS made sure all 15 binders of our family's genealogy was moved out. I should of told her to leave them but she can get in your face and yell and scream. I don't need the stress. It took my DM 40 years to compile them before ancestry.com existed. One binder was my dad's of original pictures when he was in a B-17 bomber in WWII. my sister is so irresponsible I'm afraid they will be lost forever. She has lost several storage units full of her belongings due to nonpayment. I found out she has about 30 aliases a few years back too!
Your right about one thing. My DM can't be friendly or loving to both of us at a time. She didn't speak to DS for 20 years.
I could go on with stories about sister, some illegal. Maybe some other day!
Michelle in NC Ceramics sounds like fun! I took a class for several semesters at the local college. I learned how to throw pots on a wheel and glaze and fire. I loved it!
Time to get up! My meds are kicking in so I can move. No excuses!!
Have a wonderful day! I'm so grateful I found this group! Y'all are great!!

Hi everyone. I am back for a second chance at losing the weight I lost after bariatric surgery 5 years ago. What makes it very hard for me is the intensifying back pain I have had for 2+ decades. I am finally having a Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) trial. I have spend years trying everything else with no lasting relief. So I hope the trial will prove helpful so I can have one implanted permanently.
I could use some encouragement. I have no friends. My family members are my friends, I guess. So please chime in if you can. Thanks.6 -
I have been really busy with grandkids and volunteer groups. I did have a bit of fun for self time though. DH and i spent 3 wweks south of the border this past wjnter, it was fun, but i missed the kids, so maybe i am nor ready for "going south for the winter" .
Two scrapbooking retreats in April. And even managed to have my bookkeeping all caught up for all the groups I volunteer with.
I guess I am settling in to retirement. I just have to remember that " yes, I can do it tomorrow but at least remember to do it"..... yup....having good memory issues!!!!
Have a great day everyone

Michele wow - you inspire me! I'm quite certain I couldn't plank for 5 sec. Right now all I can do is walk and ride the stationary bike but I'm hoping to add some calisthenics in the not so distant future. The stuffed cabbage your friend made don't sound like mine...I do a ratio of at least half meat, if not more and stuff them as much as I can while and still able to wrap them. But the real secret is adding worchestershire sauce, brown sugar and lemon juice to the tomatoes/tomato sauce. It makes them so tangy and flavorful. These are a favorite "diet food" choice but too much work to do all the time.
Mia you inspire me too - Always felt like it would be an amazing accomplishment to do a 5K. Great work on your race!
Sarah congrats on onederland - what an achievement! You must be so pumped up!
Kate - I agree how does everyone remember everything that's going on for everyone?? I'm more than hopeless.
Karen - great willpower. Restaurant and party food always derails me too - easier just to abstain sometimes and cook at home.
Sharon - what do you write?
Another day another dollar - if I get my butt into the office soon. So it's off to the grind and catch up some more later

I see Karen already pointed out your confusion. Karen's beautiful baby girl is Olivia and I have a confession, I typed Olivia myself and laughed when I saw what I had done and went back and corrected it. My three year old granddaughter I s Olivia.
We all have these beautiful babies to share lol. My daughter is finally marrying the grandpa although they have been together for six years she will now be "official".
