So, apparently last week's 3.8lb loss was a fluke. Knew it couldn't last ;-). Still, overall a 3# loss since we began this challenge, so I am not unhappy. In-between a little stint in the hospital... it's all good and life goes on.

    Have a great week, Everyone!

Weight -/+ this week: - 3lbs, rounded but those couple of ounces all count to me
    Weight -/+ total: -2lb

I cannot promise a loss next week, big birthday tomorrow, two days of relatives visiting, going out to dinner and foot off the weight loss gas for a couple of days. But I don’t intend to go beserk, made too much progress already, still feel committed. Also the minor matter of newly diagnosed hypertension, a date with my GP in a month to hopefully see better BP results after starting medication and more weight loss with luck.

Next mini goal – to be under 300lbs.

Good luck to everyone in the challenge!

Feeling blessed by my journey so far.
Started 2017 off at 250. So MFP shows I have lost 10 pounds now. :)

Since starting this challenge, I have lost 8 lbs.

I cheated only slightly this week from my food goals...and I had 2 diet sodas :(

But was in a calorie deficit each day. I have also increased my step counts.

I am chugging along. My clothes are fitting a bit looser. Who knows....maybe I will reach for that 1 size smaller before the end of this challenge ;) Currently I am wearing 22/24.

    Good luck everyone!

I have added another stat to my totals. I added my "Overall Total". To me, it is encouraging to see how far I have come since the beginning of my journey. It also helps me focus on the big picture when I may have experienced a setback. Feel free to add this stat to your totals also. You never know who you might be encouraging besides yourself! ;)

Another weekend full of bad choices!! But on the plus side - I've had a LIFE these past two weekends!!

I took the day off last Friday and took my parents with my daughter to the Air Show practice session that ended up being a complete wash-out! Still had lots of fun and threw calorie counting out the window for lunch with a Kielbasa sandwich from Primanti Bros (for those not familiar - originated in Pittsburgh and includes cole slaw and fries right on the sandwich) and a Yuengling beer. Followed that with pizza for dinner at my parents house after we got home from the beach.
Sunday found my daughter and I with her friend and kids back at the beach to watch Day 2 of the Air Show and another sandwich from Primanti Bros (the Pitts-burger this time) and yes, another Yuengling beer... I cannot believe I managed to reach the next "decade" this week!

Until next time; wishing everyone Peace B) , Love <3 and Weight Loss  !!

Going into my slow-down period ... it happens pretty much monthly for me and but it has nothing to do with the full moon ... or maybe it does ... cause that's a full moon today and I've been feeling fuller every day for the past 2 or 3 days. Well ... the new moon comes next, and if the moon does have some strange something to do with it then I'll see a good downward trend again.

Happy with my progress so far - slow and steady wins the race. Heading for Florida to spend a long Mother's Day weekend with my Mom, but since she lives in a retirement community I don't think I'll have a difficult time finding decent food choices (and I can swing by the supermarket to stock on a few things to keep in her apartment). I'm just hoping that my "vacation" days on Friday, Monday and Tuesday won't end up being spent entirely on conference calls and my laptop . . . it's really hard to disconnect in this 24/7 business environment. Wishing all of you that it pertains to a happy Mother's Day B)

Wednesday Wish ... that the information in the blog from SilverSneakers that I am sharing is useful for all us weight loss marathoners! I know that our average age in the Ready For Summer 10 Week Challenge is only about 45 ... but there is a group of us that are in the correct age zone, and plenty who are closing in on that age!

It's called "The Best Way to Lose Weight After Age 60", and I think it has a lot of good information for any age of dieter!
    https://www.silversneakers.com/blog/lose-weight-after-60

PS ... hope I didn't break any copy right laws by sharing the link with you all. I'm a member of SilverSneakers and wouldn't want to get them all riled up.

I want to exercise outdoors...love walking, but unfortunately a few of our neighbors do not adhere to the leash law and I'm afraid of their dogs they allow to roam. I was chased as a young girl a few times and it has impacted me to this day. So, instead of getting trapped into the mind set of "well since I can't exercise outside, guess I just won't do it" mentality...my goal is to break out of this stinking thinking and find a way to make it happen. So, there you go.

Pepper spray. I've been chased (and bitten) by dogs when I used to jog on a rural road many moons ago. The day I got cornered by a pit bull-type dog (usually chained in his front yard, but that day he was off his chain) and could not summon help due to no people in the vicinity was the last time I went out unprepared. In my experience, though, it's the little ankle-biter types that are worse. Good luck--get out there and enjoy your walks!

ETA: This is what I use. https://www.amazon.com/Ounce-5-3-mm-Stream-Pepper-Spray/dp/B008VOS3C4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1494463133&sr=8-2&keywords=pepper+spray+fox+labs The ballistic spray prevents blowback when you're in the breezy great outdoors. I like having 20 ft or so to stop something charging at me from a distance (rabid animals are a problem in my area, too). I haven't had to use it since I started carrying it--I would guess that dogs, being generally smart animals equipped with good noses, can tell what it is without it even needing to leave my pocket. ;)

Well, the new Echocardiogram shows that my heart has not improved - in fact it's worse than it was in January. So I'll definetly be getting an implantable defibrillator put in, likely in June. Funny thing is I really do not feel bad, just tired sometimes. And that's not even abnormal for me since I have sleep apnea. Oh well, all I can do is just take things one day at a time. Haven't been exercising enough, but at least I haven't even gained a full pound back.

Consistency and vigilance are the words for this challenge for me, along with "KEEP THAT BODY MOVING"!

No change this week. Trying to carry on and not be discouraged. Just a lot of stress and probably me sneaking in more bites of things than I'm admitting. At least it's not a gain.

Don't be discouraged. It's absolutely true (and awesome) that it's not a gain. Been there recently, myself.
