Started mowing lawn. Push mowed about 2 hours this week. I hope it leads to more activity. I've had little-no exercise all winter.3

@FourLynnne62...me too!!! Lots of water...logged every day...the good, the bad and the ugly3

I've been doing really good on the water scene too! I'm starting to hit 8 cups on some days now and always the 6 for sure. Steps are going really good along with the something extra exercise. Calories have no idea we'll see when I get back home.2

Sunday - Sharing (tell us a little about yourself....update your personal life)
I really have nothing exciting to share. I'm a typical career woman, that works hard and commutes too long and never seems to have enough time in her day. I'm trying to make healthy changes, but its a slow process and one that is requiring great patience on my part, lol. Other than that, it is a beautiful morning. We've had nothing but rain and grey for days, so what a nice thing to wake up to!2 -

Hi, I'm new here. Sunday sharing... well, I will be 40 in march and I don't want to be fat at forty. Ten months and lots of poundage to lose.2

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there.Friday fitness. I had a spectacular fitness week. Walked 5 miles Monday and Wednesday. Played soccer for an hour Sunday and yesterday. Walked a mile with coworkers every day this week. Passed the 100 pound lost mark this week too (90 since I joined MFP). I feel terrific too.
Yay! CONGRATS to you on passing the 100 lb mark. So awesome.
@gullagr : Awesome progress so far, too! I also loved your description of running in rain as feeling enveloped in a veil. I always felt the same way--it was special. And that reminds me--I've lost enough weight that I think I can try on my old running rain shell/windbreaker that I couldn't wear over the past winter due to my weight. For me, long runs in autumn (the rainiest season, where I live) mist/drizzle are always quite an experience. I want to be fit enough by then to enjoy them again.

I have experienced quite the struggle with myself the last couple days. Although i have exercised, i havent cared over what i put into my body. This is 1 of the most difficult days for me, because i will probably never get to experience motherhood.
Trying to stay strong, and start fresh tomorrow1 -

It's been a hard week for me, diet wise. So much so that I can honestly say the only part of the whole program I stuck with was to log all my food.

Wishing all the mom's a happy mother's day and all those that want to be. @cellosmiles I wish you hope and joy. There have been several ladies in my life that never got to experience motherhood by giving birth, but they made a huge difference in my life. I had a mother, but she was a poor tormented soul that could not love because she could not even love herself, so God graciously put other loving women in my life to care and cheer me on through my life. They were such a blessing and so desperately needed by this battered and emotionally bruised child. You can love and be loved without giving birth, you can change lives and make a difference. That is what mothers do. I'm living proof. Sending you cyber hugs!5

Sunday Sharing...watching the season finale of NCIS LA with the hubby, and doing squats and other exercises during the commercial breaks.
It's been a good, relaxing day.
If anyone wants to add me as a friend, please do so. I'm so close to hitting 290 lbs!!!! First baby goal!4 -
Sunday Share -
I'm usually a self sabotager. I dont think that I can do things, therefore I won't try and never can possibly accomplish my goals. I'm amazed how that attitude has changed over the last four months or so. Tonight is proof of that!
Decided to aim high tonight for Sunday Runday. The last couple 5K runs I did this past week left me feeling pretty good by the end. So tonight I picked a target that would really challenge me - running a 9K stretch along the Trans Canada Trail (which I adore having pretty much in my back yard).
By about 3K my body was not having it! Stitches in my side and my lungs closing up on me. But I checked my pace, focused on my breathing and kept pushing. I kept telling myself that there was no reason I couldn't get through at least 5K, I had already done that 3 times in a little over a week.
Got to the 4.5K turning point. Feeling pretty good now. If I thought I was not going to make it at 3K but pushed through anyways then I could at least get back to the 6K mark.
Got to 6K. My lungs were burning again. At this point I didn't know if I'd be able to do 9K. It was about at this point that a Post-It on my computer monitor with one of my favourite quotes on it came to mind and became my mantra for the rest of the run -
"Nothing feels better than proving your biggest doubter wrong, yourself".
I got back to the home stretch (a beautiful, straight, flat, tree-lined stretch) and as if in the cheesiest of movies, a misty rain starts to come down. It feels so good and I have a grin from ear to ear.
Tonight I ran 9K. No stopping, no walking.
I am not the same person I was 4 months ago, I am so much better! I can't wait to see what I can challenge myself to do next!10 -
READY FOR SUMMER CHALLENGE WEEKLY UPDATE
Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend.
This week we had 24 weigh-ins including a new member. Welcome @teresaglz21 !
We had 18 reported losses, 4 unchanged and 3 small gains for a total loss of 29.6lbs. (I find it awesome to see how much combined weight loss adds up to!)
In total we all have lost 104.1 lbs!!!14 -
Monday check-in:
It hasnt been the greatest weekend food-wise for me. I spent the weekend helping a friend move which mostly involved some back and forth bus trips. As a result I didnt get as much walking done as I wished. Plus she slept over sunday night so it included some take-out and I was dogsitting for her yesterday so I stayed home and well... at some point pizza happened.
I am registered a couple lbs gain this morning. I think most of it is water but I wouldnt be surprised to register a gain on wednesday morning.
Either way it's back at work and I am going to try to be extra diligent for the next few days and get this weight down to where it was.
On the bright side, it's my last week of work before a 2 weeks staycation with my parents visiting from France. Since my mom is trying to loose weight as well, we probably wont do too many excesses (though I do intend to take them out a few times). On top of that we are planning to walk a lot so I will definitely get more exercise than usual.2 -
Monday Check-in:
When it comes to my weight-loss and fitness plan, it's been a terrible week 19 (of 52 weeks) for me. I had my lowest weight last Monday and steadily gained every day from then on. Started Monday at 237.4 and was up to 238.4 by Wednesday but then it went up a whole 3 pounds by the Friday weigh-in, then another .6 pounds by Saturday. It's held the same as of this morning's weigh-in ... and this means that I am set back to a weight I had in the last challenge ... I haven't weighed this much since week 10...
.... Of course this put me into a tailspin for a brief period of time. But since the weight has held for the past 3 morning weights I'm confident this sudden gain has resolved itself and my weight will start to come back down. It's such a commonplace occurance in my history! I have to remember not to become overly critical of myself as my psyche certaining doesn't need to be stomped on! I'm still going to record my weigh-in on Wednesday this week for our challenge ... it's my weigh-in day for it.0 -
@sand86802 ... you are doing a good job of keeping up with this motley crew of folks reporting their weights for the Ready for Summer Challenge. How does it feel to be the caretaker of the challenge? Do you use a smartphone for your internet work?0

Monday check in. Exhausted. Spent yesterday at the ER with my bride. She came home Thursday sick, had a fever Friday and it broke Saturday morning. Her migraine hit Friday night too and stuck until the wee hours of Sunday. She woke up early Sunday and sail she had a tightness in her chest, left side. Neck ache nausea dizziness and a tingly feeling in her shoulder and arms. She looked awful. It took an hour or so to convince her that a trip to the hospital was the thing. Red heads make life worth living. Got to go to the front of the line at the ER. An EKG and bloodwork in record time eliminated heart attack thankfully. Her O2 levels were at about 75! She is asthmatic but wasn't having any problems breathing. Diagnosis bronchitis. A steroid and a breathing treatment and she was ready to roll. Amazing recovery, the doctor told her after the fever is gone 24-48 hours she's no longer contagious so I drove her to the airport at 3 Am so she could take the 8th graders to Washington DC.
I've probably mentioned it before but my preparation for this surgery and the operation itself made my marriage better. It forced me to face myself and see that it wasn't just me I was harming. It helped me hear the things she needed to say but wouldn't. We had a strong marriage, it's 10 times better now. I've always been crazy in love with this woman. I think I am a better partner now. I know we are stronger as a family. I have been blessed by more than the weight I've lost. Tomorrow is our 19th anniversary. Saturday's date night got postponed but I did get to spend all day yesterday holding her hand.7 -
@Nikion901 I just use a good old pen and paper. I got a small notebook and everybody has its page and I write people's entry down. Its a bit of work but it's fun.
@pneschich Thank goodness your wife is okay. I remeber having to go to the ER a couple times becaise of asthma-like bronchitis and it was very scary. I am glad everything worked out well though. Take good care of her (though I have no doubt you dont need me to tell you ;-) )1 -

Monday checkin
I am feeling better today...and am back on track. I had a lot of water gain this week, due to time of month and stress eating (too much salt). Gained everyday since friday and am up 5 lbs
But hopefully it will turn around before i do weighin.
My step counts were as strong as always over the weekend as i walk the chicken barns but i tried to do a little extra after that and take the dogs on a good walk too. Normally they get a bit neglected on weekends.
I love how @gullagr pushed herself from 5k to 9k. So i am going to work up to jogging 1k without stopping to walk. I can do about 0.5k at the most now. So im gonna give it a shot this week it may be challenging though...might have to leave the dogs in the car as they are always making me stop1 -

Tuesday - Goals (do you have any Goals you want to update us?)
So, I want to get back to basics. I want to make sure I track today, have improved water intake (no soda) and exercise 30 minutes today.1 -
Tuesday goals: I want to be able to stop eating between meals. I have such a hard time controllig myself lately. A bite of food here and there doesnt show on my diary but it shows on the scale. Despite 3 meals and snacking, I still feel hungry too. I try to consume a lot of protein but it depends on what is at work.
Anyway, the leftover pizza from this weekend is gone so I have no excuse to start anew. And with 2 weeks off coming up, I am setting a goal of at least 1h walking everyday.3 -
I think I am going to join @FourLynne62 in my goal this week too. Back to basics: log, log, log, water and steps. Was very successful with that yesterday (feel better too) and hopefully I can break even with last week's weigh in and not show a gain.3

Have you tried having 5 to 6 smaller meals instead of just three big ones?0 -

Thing is I cant eat whenever I want. Being at work for 14h I usually have breakfast around 8am, some kind of snack around 11.30, lunch around 1.30 and then the rest of the afternoon is pretty busy so if I am hungry I just grab whatever I can. Then I have dinner when I get home at 8.30.
Thing is when I start snacking it is not uncommon for it to get out of control and the things most available here are cookies and cakes.0 -
I did very well all day all the way thru dinner, then the chocolate monster came out and I forgot about everything! Why!? How can I keep my monster locked up and under control?0

Tuesday Goals ... besides my daily striving to stay at or below calorie allowance, not eating past supper, drinking at least 64 ounces of clear water (lemon in it is OK), ... I have to finish the kitchen today. The floor and cupboard faces need a good cleaning and the window air conditioner needs to be installed for the summer ... that means window washing as well. Plus, I need to shop today for groceries and get gas ... so that means the grass needs to get it's cut and the fridge it's scrub down. Hmm .. that's about 1000% more than I normally get done in one day! But .. here goes!3
